  1. Nameless summoned the Mordite blade in a flash, lunging forwards to stab the Witherlord in the Core of his being.
  2. "But I like my perspective. Would you change yours, if given the opportunity?"
  3. "Yes, well. I think I'll pass. You're not really big on the whole 'create awesome stuff' thing, and I rather enjoy doing so." Nameless continued retreating, barely able to defend himself.
  4. Nameless stumbled backwards, awkwardly deflecting the Witherlord's blows. "I see you're as eager to get this over with as I am. Interesting. You've never really seemed to want to kill me before now."
  5. Nameless stood up painfully. "Well, if it has been an hour, I'm as ready to fight you as I'll ever be." He summoned his Narrationblade to his left hand.
  6. Nameless sighed. "Has it been an hour already? I could've sworn its been about 20 minutes."
  7. Moni gulped. "Wonderful. Um, I don't know where Nameless is. Maybe we could wait a bit?"
  8. "Oh right. The withergeists." Moni glanced around. "Who froze them? And where did Nameless go?"
  9. Well, there was the whole thing with Star being tortured by a bunch of narrators that kinda started the whole TLT/CBST lore, and that got followed up with the original CBST, I think. During which the Witherlord was a problem or something or other, I think Star turned into Astral as a coping mechanism, there was a castle of some sort, maybe a big narrator fight, Silence eventually brought TLT and CBST together after they'd been separated for a while, and Star eventually turned evil and tried to kill everybody or something like that. Not sure about the timeline of most of that.
  10. "Ah! You're awake. That's a good sign. How do you feel?"
  11. Nameless rested in the woods, taking stock of his supplies. "A bag of explosives, a couple berries that I'm pretty sure aren't poisonous, and the clothes on my back. Not a great start." He smiled ruefully, wondering what his father would think of his terrible survival skills. '"He always did wish I spent less time tinkering and more time learning 'practical skills'. Maybe he was right. If I'd spent more time with him, maybe I'd have more of an idea what I'm doing." Tears stung his cheeks as he thought of better days. Days before his father had died, and the world had gone sideways. Days before he'd been chosen for the hunger games, chosen to be killed while the whole world watched. Shaking his head abruptly, Nameless wiped the tears off his face and stood up. '"No use in just sitting here. I have to find a good spot to camp for the night. And some water too." He set off into the woods, trying to keep his mind on the present.
  12. Unfortunately for everyone else, they hadn't.
  13. Unfortunately for him, in opening a portal to the Cognitive realm Frustration discovered where all that converted energy had gone.
  14. It would have been better if they'd kept fighting a war instead of turning it into a game. It would have been better if they'd treated the Parshendi the same as they would have treated a human country that killed their king; war, followed by occupation of the country and the execution of that country's leaders. Not attempted genocide accompanied by tons of war crimes.
  15. "I... have no idea what that means. Are you all right?" Moni looked at the Wanderer. "She should wake up soon."
  16. Moni let out a sigh of relief. "Did you know that would work?"
  17. Moni grabbed the fabrial and pressed it to the Wanderer's chest, activating it in a flash of stormlight.
  18. Moni grabbed the pen and wrote "regrowth fabrial" on the survey.
  19. The argument made was that the Alethi were justified in their war because their king was killed. I'm saying that the war turned from a war for vengeance into a war for exploitation of the natural resources of the Parshendi, along with genocide. So it became unjust.
  20. Sadeas may have been the worst of the Highprinces, but many of the others shared his view of the Parshendi as savages. Their war may have originally been about finding justice for Gavilar's death, but it was very much about profiting from the gemhearts while incidentally getting some battle to fuel their Thrill addictions by the time tWoK starts.
  21. The Alethi didn't do all that good of a job at convincing the Parshendi to surrender, what with Sadeas' wanton slaughtering of their surrendered troops.
  22. Yes, a Radiant bonding an Honorblade that granted different surges would gain access to those surges. A radiant who bonded an Honorblade that granted the same surges as their order, they would gain slightly enhanced surgebinding, but it would not be too useful:
  23. "What in the world is an afterglow briar?" Moni picked it up. "Is it useful for healing?"
  24. "Oh. In that case, it probably just needed some activation investiture. Too bad."
  25. "Exactly. We just have to figure out whether the Dominium still exists, or whether it was used up in the reaction. That'll tell us if it was a catalyst or a reactant." Nameless pulled out a spacesuit. "Who wants to go check?"
