    "You're right. I don't need it." Nameless pulled an object that glowed brighter than the sun from his pocket. "I have this, after all."

    Nameless smiled affably. "They can't hurt me, now can they? Not as long as I'm not an idiot."

    Nameless shrugged. "Okay, that's maybe a few thousand. Still not a big deal."

    Nameless squinted. "That's only a few hundred withergeists. We'll be fine. They might destroy a lot, but the narrators will make it again. We always do."

Everyone tells me there are armies of withergeists rampaging everywhere, but I've seen no evidence of it. Anyways, I'll be off. I have some unfinished business."

    Nameless appeared next to them. "The Skiens should've stopped trying to bind the Witherlord. The plan had obviously failed. There was no need to keep it going. We'll have to figure something else out."

    "He's the Witherlord? Is that why he wants you so badly?"

    "So what happened to him, in the end?"

    "You left him alone? Is that why he was so depressed that he was dissolving everything around him?"

    Nameless stood painfully, then waved to the cameraman. "Did you get all that? Great! You can send it to the editors, and they should have it ready in time for the party." "What would happen? What happened?"

    Nameless considered. "That is a tempting offer. But I think I'll pass. I'm not really that good at causing destruction and decay. And besides that. I think remaining a being of creation and imagination will be better for my character arc." "Is that X's-your avatar?"

    Nameless sat down, exhausted. "I don't think you quite understand the predicament here. I can't kill the Witherlord. He's overwhelmed the binding to the point that he can control the Mordite in my blade. Unless you have a Luxite weapon up your sleeve, he's not dying today. The mimes can't kill him with ordered darkness, and I can't kill him with chaotic light."

    Nameless stepped back. "You should leave, friend. This fight is between me and him. Not you." "Solitude? Oh, storms. What's going on?"

    "That's... not very descriptive. What kind of darkness?" Nameless grunted. "Figures. I knew this plan wouldn't work." He laughed. "Didn't think it'd be because of me. I guess I'm getting too soft."

    "Feel what? Pain?" Nameless overcame his momentary hesitation and stabbed the Mordite blade through X's avatar's heart.

    Nameless raised the sword, conflicted. "I..." Moni gasped. "What in the world? What's happening to you?"

    Nameless slumped, sword falling to his side. "I did. And I'm sorry. I've... failed a lot a people. Especially lately." Moni looked at it. "Are you all right? What's up with you and all the glitches lately?"

    "Failed? How so?" Nameless knocked the Witherlord's sword from his hands and levelled his own at the dark creature's throat. "I'm about to succeed."

    Nameless slashed at the Witherlord's leg, managing a glancing blow. "Only sometimes. And I can make it a better place. Or at least a more interesting one."

    Nameless pressed his advantage, forcing the Witherlord back. "Rusts! Why does this have to be so difficult!"

    Nameless cursed as the Witherlord blocked his blow. "Storms, I knew the plan seemed too good to be true." He continued attacking, knocking aside the Witherord's blade and trying to overwhelm him before he could recover.
