  1. Technically, he was showing his support 24/7 365 days a year, but during Ookla season he was determined to show it even more. so he hired a consultant.
  2. "Right. Everyone into the coffins. I'll go get someone to activate the machine."
  3. Unintelligible cursed Ookla season. It hadn't been like this last time. Of course, last Ookla season he barely existed. If Sequence hadn't pushed Nameless to create him, then he'd probably never have come about.
  4. @Ookla the Inverted Nameless jogged back to the group. "I finished up the machine to send us through." he gestured behind him, where a set of coffins hung out over the void, glowing with an ethereal light. "I put a weave on them that will make it appear as though we've left, while in reality the coffins are still there, hidden by an illusion. Sorry it took so long, I'm terrible at illusions. Had to go off my notes mostly." He turned, gesturing towards a chest lying on the ground. "I figured we could ask some of the people here to see us off, then tell them that the box contains the secret to bypassing the barrier and they can open it after we leave. opening or moving the box will trigger the mechanism, so they'll see us 'leave' and then activate the machine and send us on our way."
  5. Meanwhile, Ookla the Unintelligible had gained unimaginable power
  6. But deep in the back of the Great Mage's mind, the prophecy remained.
  7. "Yes. Hopefully he stays unconscious until we arrive."
  8. "Yeah, he'll be fine. As long as he doesn't go insane in the void between worlds."
  9. The Great Mage accepted the meal and departed back to his home, where he promptly devoured the entire feast.
  10. Excellent. What am I recruited into again? 1353
  11. "Ah... oh dear. Well, I'm sure he'll be fine until we get there. Probably."
  12. Am I recruited? I'm a great double agent. 1351
  13. "We can tell them we've figured out a way through the barrier, then get someone to fulfill some 'send-off' ritual after we enter the machine." Nameless chuckled. "Of course I've died. A friend helped me get over it."
  14. "Eh, it's not so bad. Painful, but not as much as you'd think."
  15. "Yes. A friend of mine, with terrible taste. Still, I can take the food to him, if you don't mind."
  16. "That won't happen, probably." "That happened because your Intent was to throw the rock in. If we're unconscious, we'll have no Intent, and as long as the person we trick into activating the machine doesn't have the Intent to throw us in, we'll be fine."
  17. "I'm sure it'll be fine. TAAron was fine when he was unconscious in it."
  18. "Well, hold on." The Great Mage considered deeply. "I... might know someone who can eat it."
  19. "Sorry. Had to figure out some way to bypass Intent, and I figured that was the best way. We can trick someone else to get us through. Now, I just need to make sure that we get through the barrier without our own intent getting us killed. I think knocking us all unconscious should work."
  20. "I don't care what their credentials are. I hate blue gong dragon cooking."
  21. The machine went off with a sharp crack and the unsuspecting Kuroboh was launched into the barrier. Nameless smiled, observing as the creature flailed around for a short time before dissolving. "Excellent. The machine works."
  22. Nameless took the marshmallow and ate it, watching TAAron struggle to tie the rope back together.
  23. "Hopefully, yes. As long as he doesn't suspect what he's actually doing, at least."
