  1. "Intriguing. humans can use this Ether channeling, you say? In my world, humans cannot use any magic. Even common animals are superior to us in that regard. Dragons, on the other hand, are the most magical creatures to exist. Or, they used to be."
  2. Ravelast: Sixth Archive Gateway Nameless drew in saidin, drowsiness vanishing as the world brightened around him. "Do you have any idea what direction she may have gone in?" @Aes Sedai
  3. YKYASFWY have an online class with an introduction board that includes the question "what is your favorite book" So you go through all of your classmate's responses looking for Brandon Sanderson books.
  4. Ravelast: Sixth Archive Gateway “Oh.” Nameless stood up, putting his boots back on. “We should probably look for her then. She wandered off into the forest? She was with that dryad girl, right?” @InfiniteInsanity
  5. Ravelast: Sixth Archive Gateway Nameless sat up, yawning. “What is it? Did the wolves come back?”
  6. "Well, I was wondering,.." Klave looked down at his hands, then back up at Lightning. "Do dragons in your world have magic?"
  7. "A pity. I could have made quite the twists with another Narrator's character." Subversion nodded, making her move and standing up from the table. "Well then. This meeting with you has been productive. When you need me, feel free to call." She disappeared in a burst of smoke.
  8. "If you're sure. I did wonders with that old character of Nameless'. Poor thing was feeling quite down about himself before my help." Subversion studied the board critically. "If I like whoever you pick, I'll ally with them. I'd be more than happy to ally with Spook, but I won't make a promise on an unknown factor."
  9. Subversion shook her head. "I'm afraid I don't. I could make you an identity, if you want."
  10. "Hm." Subversion moved one of her own pieces carefully. "Perhaps I will. Do your plans for Spook require my assistance? I'd be more than happy to help." She smiled faintly. "I think Mythos plans to kill me, currently."
  11. "Perhaps I could help. I am a Narrator, after all."
  12. "Very well Rylla. It is good to meet you. Are you a Narrator?"
  13. "In that case, what is your name?" Subversion raised an eyebrow. "What was so special about it? A gift from a loved one, perhaps?"
  14. "Weren't you just talking about how every Narrator has committed a few atrocities in their time?" Subversion looked at the woman. "Do I know you?"
  15. "I see. Making Spook go along with your plans will be difficult." Subversion waved. "Oh, that was me. Nice to meet you."
  16. "Hm. Tricky to get Mythos to just step down. He's the one that hates you, right? Or is it Spook?"
  17. "So you'll be staying a good while then." Subversion considered her next move, casting a critical gaze at Thaidakar's pieces. "Heirs are a tricky business under the best circumstances."
  18. "Dragons and humans never got along in my world either." Klave looked sad. "Humans have always been too quick to act out of fear, and, from what I have learned, dragons never really saw us as a threat. Not until it was too late."
  19. "So. You going to be around for long this time? Before you head back to the underworld, I mean."
  20. "Very well." a Stratego board appeared between them, sitting on a table from Thaidakar's sitting room. Subversion sat down at the table, preparing her side of the board.
  21. Subversion sniffed. "I prefer Stratego. Monopoly is far too luck-based."
  22. Subversion winced, glancing towards Thaidakar's study door, which was hanging half off its hinges. "Yes. We have. Some atrocities are simply more personal than others. That's all that makes what I did any different from the average Narrator's crimes."
  23. Klave nodded, extending a hand to Galard. "Good to meet you. I'm Klave, ex-Hunstman of Aldwin. Dragons in my world, they don't really communicate. Not like humans do. They're... different. I used to think they were mindless, but more recently..." He shrugged. "Regardless, that's why I was surprised at your actions, Lightning. A dragon from my land wouldn't have bothered waiting around peacefully as you did. And they certainly wouldn't have made friends with a human."
  24. Klave was silent for a long moment before speaking. "I can understand. Not so much the words, more the intent behind them. I must say, I am surprised to see a dragon speak."
  25. Klave lay in his bed, head pounding as he gradually returned to consciousness. Eventually, he sat up on his bed, opening his eyes to his room. Darkformer below, what happened? Where am I? He tried to remember, thoughts feeling thick as lead. Slowly, memories began to trickle back to him. Memories of a desire for... for power. Yes, a need for it. He hadn't been strong enough. No, that wasn't quite right. He had the power. He needed skill. Mastery. That was why he'd sought the ancient magic, why he'd come to this inn. The rest of his memories came flooding back, his head clearing somewhat. I shouldn't have used that much Trueflame. Nightmares, but I hate how it affects me. Sighing, he got out of bed, looking down at his scaled hands, one red, one white-gold. Eventually, he stood up, following the sensation in his mind out of his room and through the inn. He walked for a time, eventually coming upon the man who claimed to be a dragon's friend. What had his name been again? The dragon was called Lightning, apparently. Klave hesitated briefly, then approached, watching the yellow dragon carefully. "Hello? I'm Klave. I've heard that dragons in other worlds are... different from my home, and I wanted to meet one." @Trutharchivist
