Don’t worry, my wards will warn me if anyone tries to attack the camp.” He turned to state at the Archive, awe filling his face. “This was made by a multiversal group, right? Eof's house teleported away before Bookwyrm could see anything. It was a new-fangled security system sold to him by a friendly Ghanderflaffle Home Safety Incoporated salesman.

No way am I going down that thing. carefully, he wove saidin into a gateway to the bottom of the stairs, stepping through just in time to see Calano launch himself down the hallway. Quickly, he made another gateway, stepping out at the end of the hallway in front of Calano. @CalanoCorvus

Ravelast: Sixth Archive Gateway Nameless watched Rue touch the gateway stone, annoyed. Did she really just leave me here alone? He glanced around the clearing, eyes falling on Joe. I'm sure he can take care of things. Drawing in saidin, he put up some wards directly around the camp just in case, then ran over to the stone and touched it. @CalanoCorvus @Aes Sedai

Klave shook his head. "You can. I'm not feeling particularly hungry at the moment."

Just as Eof had planned.

"They don't sound too terrible. Better than most of the things I've had to deal with. There are hypnotic flesh-eating mountain goats in your world? Sounds... interesting."

Klave tilted his head, thoughtful. "Trolls? I'm not familiar with those. Are they dangerous? Still, I suppose you're right. Humans do seem to be extremely common, so it makes sense that dragons could be as well."

"I suspect our world's magics work very differently. I suppose it should be surprising that our worlds are similar enough to have dragons in them. You two, myself, and Bookwyrm all come from worlds with dragons. Odd, isn't it? Out of a group so small, so many of us have something in common."

Meanwhile, Eof was busily preparing an ultimate superweapon for deployment.

Klave shrugged. "I don't know why dragons can't use magic. my best guess is that only the oldest dragons could use their magic, beyond normal fire and flight of course. But I haven't been able to get any conclusive answers. Anyways, from what I can tell in my world things are either born with magic or without it. Most things are pretty normal, with only a few hints of magic. Others are completely infused with it, to the point that their forms are impossible to maintain without magic. Most humans have no magic at all. Rarely, some will be born with a tiny hint of magic, but that never goes beyond being slightly healthier and a bit more attuned to the magic around them." He frowned, expression distant. "Dragons are the opposite. They, like most other large predators, feed on magic, but they can also make it. Make it better than anything else. They're the most concentrated form of magic in the world, and since we destroyed so much of their population, they can't use a tenth of it to defend themselves."

Ravelast: Sixth Archive Gateway "You're insane? Makes sense." Nameless hesitated. "Unless you're talking about literal demons inhabiting your mind."

Klave shot an experimental burst of flame into the goop monster.

"I prefer Mafia, myself."

Ravelast: Sixth Archive Gateway "Right. So you said you wanted safety? What do you need safety from?"

Ravelast: Sixth Archive Gateway "Are you okay? Was that plant, uh, poisonous or something?"

Ravelast: Sixth Archive Gateway Nameless noted Joe's clenched fists, cocking his head. "Really? A potted plant? How unfortunate."

Ravelast: Sixth Archive Gateway Nameless looked at Joe nervously. Yeah, he's definitely crazy. "So, where do you come from?"

Ravelast: Sixth Archive Gateway Nameless shook his head. "What is evil in one world is not evil in all worlds. And I am perfectly natural and right. The taint was unnatural. Channeling is as natural for men as it is for women, and it always has been."
