  1. "Seconds at least, minutes at most. Unless they manage to expel me entirely."
  2. "Oh, you mean once a suitable connection to my soul has been made? Depends on how strong-willed the person is. Relatively quick for most people."
  3. "How should I know? Ask Ayia."
  4. "Well then, I suppose I won't be useful in every circumstance."
  5. "Yes. But Ayia can make those, most likely."
  6. "I'd rather possess one of the Beorin."
  7. "If I was not cursed, and I was back in my home dimension, I could do it. I pulled of many similar feats at the height of my power. As it stands, I doubt I could fully restore your powers without simply restoring your soul to its original body, even if I had an excellent host."
  8. "That would be tricky, yes. I may not be able to bring you back with full use of your power, in that case. Assuming I couldn't use your original body."
  9. "Ah, I see. No, I could not allow you to access any power. I could almost perfectly bring you back, but changing base elements of the soul to add or enhance magical powers is simply not possible. With an imperfect instrument like your body, fighting against the curse that restrains me, in a dimension where my magic is weakened, I simply could not do it fast enough."
  10. "One what? One organ? One cell?"
  11. "What, an anatomical sketch? I doubt it. Generally, I require much more extensive knowledge than a simple sketch can provide."
  12. "I would have to study your powers extensively in order to do something like give you a body that allows you to access different powers. Something I don't have the time for at the moment."
  13. Subversion looked at her Narrationblade in shock for a moment, but recovered quickly. "No, I don't want to talk to you. I already know how you killed the brave adventurer; you tried the same trick on me, remember?" She took a step back from Feanor. "I'd hoped you'd be easier to kill after that fight with Platypus, but... well, this way might be better. A pity I have to crack out this plan now and not later, when the true threat emerges, but I doubt I can kill you otherwise." She shrugged, a soft glow beginning to appear around her. "Unless you'll be so kind as to let me kill you?"
  14. "I could probably make your body capable of using magic just fine. I told you, I'm the greatest necromancer to ever live. The only reason I'm unsure about it is because we're in this dimension and I don't know how my powers have reacted."
  15. Oh yeah no, living to 2100 years old would be awful. 2101
  16. By the time 2100 comes along, average lifespan will probably be a lot higher. Plus I have friends and family younger than me. 2099
  17. Some of my friends and family could live to 2100 too. 2097
  18. "I suppose you're right not to believe me. This sphere is, after all, one of the most potent weapons on this thread. But not in the way you think." Subversion put the sphere away, stood up from her chair, and started walking towards Thaidakar. "Despite your words you are too trusting. You and Platypus both." She held her hand to the side and a thin, delicate-looking Narrationblade formed in it. "You did split me into ten pieces. And you tried to kill one piece of me. Unfortunately for you that part of your plan failed. I suspect this conversation would be going very differently if you had succeeded. Curiosity was most developed. Probably because of that blasted Plotblade." She stopped a few feet from Thaidakar, pointing her Narrationblade at his head. "I don't care about your plan, or whatever plot you're weaving. I was made to subvert plot. To take expectations for the future and rip them to shreds. You die, Feanor. I will not allow you to live after what you've done." Subversion didn't want to take any chances. And I'd be... sort of mad. Not super mad. Just a little.
  19. "The afterlife. Don't worry, I'm sure I could bring it back before your body was expended. Not to your original body, you understand. But I could make you a new one. Probably allow you to keep all of your memories too."
  20. "Yes, well, in my case that is always. I must detach the natural soul from the body in order to inhabit it."
  21. "Oh, my curse wouldn't spread to you. As Ayia said earlier, two souls cannot inhabit one body."
  22. "Not unless, until it disintegrates. The pressure put upon the body by possession, along with the power of the curse, quickly destroy any form I take."
  23. "You're the one who's been complaining about me not being very useful. Ayia, I take full control of their body. I can't use any magical powers that stem from the soul, but bodily enhancements work the same for me as for whoever I possess. Until the body disintegrates, of course."
  24. "Well... I wouldn't say that."
  25. "I require a biological body that has a soul, or at least has had a soul until recently."
