  1. "I think we just fight until one of us wins. Seems easier than arbitrary rules."
  2. "Yes well, agree to disagree I suppose." "I don't know. Platypus, is this a duel to the death?"
  3. "Because he wouldn't have agreed to that and it wouldn't have been fun."
  4. Clinic: Dining Hall "Think it'd be possible to make a ter'angreal that would work for what he needs in a reasonable timeframe?"
  5. "I'm light. And while I don't doubt his heart, he doesn't nearly have the intelligence to be trustworthy with that thing."
  6. "Which is why I should have it, not Platypus." Subversion nods to herself. "He's far too untrustworthy to keep it."
  7. Clinic Dining Hall "Have you tried Raysium? That might work. Or maybe we could make something like an angreal or ter'angreal, except for your powers instead of the One Power." Nameless took a bite of soup. "Those aren't my specialty though. I barely know the theory behind making a ter'angreal. Rue, could you help with that?" @Edema Rue@The Aspiring Archivist
  8. Well I was looking for a replacement for Nameless, so I decided to go through Narrator ideas until I found the one I liked a lot. That turned out to be Subversion, in no small part due to the reaction she got after killing Valiant. So yes, it is your fault she's still around. Thanks for the inspiration to keep her, I've really enjoyed the character, especially in the most recent plot.
  9. Clinic Dining Hall "Something else? Got any leads on what that might be?" @The Aspiring Archivist @Edema Rue
  10. "Yeah, we agreed to duel on page 2600, in exchange for my help against Darkness. Winner gets to keep the Mordite sword."
  11. "Oh it won't. I just need it for me and Platypus's duel."
  12. What did you think I meant when Valiant said his author was testing out new candidates?
  13. The house watches him go, closing the door behind him.
  14. The door of the study creaks open on its own, revealing the front porch of Nameless' house.
  15. Yeah you're right, I did have a couple proto-Narrators during the trial run. Was planning to have a whole bunch of them, but decided to keep Subversion around because of the whole vengeance quest thing. There are normal characters. I've got Unintelligible, who's completely normal, and Moniker, who's an Avatar of my previous Narrator who died. As I said, almost all of the time people only have one Narrator at a time, and most people have at least one non-Narrator character. Some people barely use their Narrator at all.
  16. Thaidakar had one Narrator, and a couple characters with narrator-ish powers.
  17. Nameless frowned, stirring his bowl of stew. “Bad things don’t always have to happen. I think we’re through the worst of it.”
  18. “No, I think you should make a communication device. Talking in your head can be… difficult” He glances at Rue, then quickly looks away. “Speaking hypothetically of course.”
  19. “Did you even try reading Tress? I told you, they’re not all as long as Stormlight.”
  20. Nameless glanced at her, and managed to conceal a grimace. "Still struggling to pick up the Cosmere?" "Well, you're going to have a hard time avoiding spoilers. Half the people here have already read it twice, and Brandonfandonitis can cause some pretty severe spoiling urges."
  21. Nameless burst into the dining hall, waving a book excitedly. "TAAron! Have you read The Sunlit Man? You need to. It's the best one yet!"
  22. The safe opens easily, revealing a medallion with four points, a small nugget of an indescribable metal set in the center.
  23. Sure. TLT's normally just a chaotic, barely-coherent story everyone's telling, but sometimes it has a more coherent story. (Well I say sometimes, but we've been having plot for like the past 300 pages. Maybe it'll split off into another TLT RP sometime in the future.) TLT story is still pretty chaotic, but Narrators are relevant in pretty much all of it. Generally people will have one Narrator character, although not everyone makes a Narrator right away and there's at least one case I can think of when someone sort of had more than one. Narrators have the power to Narrate anything, whether that's making stuff explode, creating new worlds, or even making new characters. Some Narrators have an Avatar, or a non-Narrator character that's got an extra connection to them. That's basically all you need to know to get started in TLT. Make a Narrator or some other character and hop in if you want.
  24. Inside the door is a study, everything coated in a layer of dust. Sitting on the desk is a safe made from a softly glowing metal.
