  1. The healing seemed to work, and Nameless’ breathing became more stable. He was still unconscious, however.
  2. Nameless was barely breathing, eyes closed. Through the bond, Rue could feel him growing weaker.
  3. "Alright. So, dagger at the end of an invisible chain, that will float around you and and fight on its own. Sounds good?"
  4. Clinic: Kitchen Nameless stepped through a gateway into the kitchen, head spinning with exhaustion and grief. TAAron's dead again and I wasn't even there to do anything. He walked to the sink and filled up his canteen with water, although for some reason the water cut off before he could fill it all the way. He was too distracted to care, taking a sip of water as he walked through another gateway into his room. He'd spent the last few hours searching desperately through the information from the recovered Archives that was stored in the Clinic library, looking for some way to destroy a god like Malum or prevent Death from taking action against TAAron, to no avail. I should've gone with Rue. Then at least I could've.... could've... Nameless winced, feeling a piercing stab of pain in his head. He took another drink of water, figuring he was probably dehydrated, but that only made the pain grow stronger. He slumped to the floor holding his head, vision swimming, pain spreading throughout every part of his body, and fell unconscious. @Edema Rue
  5. The Dreamsmith shook his head decisively. "No more tests. I know for a fact that you're deserving of a weapon. I'm sorry about Omen. I'll have a talk with him after this."
  6. "It gives you an advantage, does it?" The ground shook again, and Platypus stood in four places. Then eight. Then sixteen. Soon, Platypus had hundreds of versions of himself standing in front of Nameless, who summoned his Narrationblade confidently. "We'll see about that." That's much better, thanks. The grip on Jeremy's arm slacked as something appeared out of the endless nothingness, a wall of light seemed to stretch into infinity. We're here. "Let me put your mind at rest. You'll contribute everything. Our worlds are not compatible. What is real in your world is unreal in this one, and vice versa. I can't use anything from here to make your weapon, not unless you're okay with your weapon being partly imaginary once you leave here."
  7. Nameless pulled his medallion from his pocket with his free hand, then pressed it to the sphere. A moment later the sphere, the beams, and the spikes all exploded violently, shaking the entire arena. Nameless appeared in front of Platypus, completely unscathed. “My turn.” The ground around Platypus shook, and he found himself standing in two places at once.
  8. Nameless ignored the spikes, simply healing any damage they caused him. Instead he focused on the sphere in his hand, pouring Narrative energy into it.
  9. The Dreamsmith frowned. "I suppose I could make you something like that. Perhaps a dagger on an invisible chain with has a mind of its own?" "Much better! Glowy bits are almost always weak points in my experience." Nameless grabbed the sphere before it could reach his chest, allowing the spikes to engulf him. "Please SHUT UP!" Jeremy felt an icy coldness on his arm as something he couldn't see grabbed him with what felt like claws. "That noise is very annoying. Makes me wonder why I'm even bothering to take you through this place. It'd be so much nicer to just... let them have you." The upstanding citizens decide to perhaps find other targets for their business proposal, as dealing with insane people who possibly had magical powers was somewhat outside of their ordinary field of operations.
  10. Please do your best to avoid feeling extreme emotion. They’ll notice us far more quickly if you do that. Well, notice you far more quickly. They won’t care about me. “I could make you a mop. Is a mop good?”
  11. The upstanding citizens went into a huddle and had a whispered conversation. When they came back, they had a new business proposal: They'd give Lily a lesson in hemalurgy, in exchange for using her soul to create just one spike.
  12. Nameless summoned his Narrationblade and cut off the hand that held the sphere, then leapt into the air before the spikes could reach him. He hovered there, looking down on Platypus. "You're getting there. What else do you have up your sleeve?"
  13. Nameless looked at Platypus, ignoring the Narration being stolen from him. "Do you have any idea how often someone's tried this trick on me?" It was at this point that several upstanding citizens showed up and offered her an incredible business opportunity: Lily could give them all of her money and valuables, and in exchange they wouldn't stab her and take all her valuables anyways. If Lily turned their offer down, they assured her that she would never get another one like it ever again.
  14. The bartender was glad She hadn't burst into flames or exploded like people generally did after drinking the holy water. Nameless picked it up. "What's this? A prison? explosive? Narration-stealing thingy?"
  15. "Horneater white. You wanted the weakest drink we had, right? Well that's it. I wouldn't drink that water by the way."
  16. The bartended handed She a cup of horneater white.
  17. Nameless ducked Vengeance easily. "You've been relying almost entirely on Vengeance for the whole fight. Don't you have any powers of your own?"
  18. The void outside the hole was about as Jeremy had expected it to be*, but for the moment at least it seemed survivable. You're alive? The voice seemed to come from nowhere, which wasn't surprising considering there wasn't anywhere for it to come from. We got lucky. None of them are around. *If he'd expected it to be so dark that it was impossible to see anything, so empty that it was impossible to feel anything, and so void-ish that it threatened to melt his brain. "Well stop waiting on me and get this over with. Do whatever you think is necessary to beat me." "Yes Sequence, you passed. What kind of weapon will help you, considering Conflict's power?"
  19. "They are. Or, well, I assume they are. I never checked in on that universe again. I found this one forgotten, so I fixed him up."
  20. The shadowed figure shrugged, walking up to the hole and hopping through. He immediately vanished, and the hole in reality looked exactly as it had before.
  21. The Dreamsmith smiled apologetically. "I'm sorry about the test. Omen has been trying to step up his game, and I can't really stop him from doing whatever he wants in regards to testing, as he is the only pathway to me." The clockwork creature scuttled over to the Dreamsmith, who picked it up. "As for what this is and where I found it, I think you already know the answer to those questions."
  22. "You have no idea what you're doing." Nameless shrugged. "Still, at least you're confident. I can respect that, even if I can't respect your reasons for confidence." He cracked his knuckles. "We should finish this quickly, don't you agree? Every moment we waste here is another moment that Darkness is running free." "Well if you're sure..." A jagged hole in reality appeared in front of Jeremy, opening into a seemingly endless void filled with darkness. The Dreamsmith turned around, noticing Sequence. "Oh, hello Sequence. You're here already? I..." He trailed off, noticing the clockwork creature. "So that's where you got off to. I should've known you'd want to help her." He turned his attention back to Sequence. "So, you've come for another weapon? I haven't made one for a Narrator before, so this should be fun."
  23. “No, not outside this world. Outside all the worlds.” The shadowed figure looked closely at Jeremy. “You don’t look like someone who can survive out there, but looks can be deceiving. Want to risk it?”
