That WoB is pretty old but even if true the pits may start working again only this time produce ettmetal.  The power of both shards are still there they just interact differently.

that sounds crazy dangerous what happens when it rains.

(edit):nvm it will probably just be in a geode like the Atium was

When Kelsier destroyed the Pits of Hathsin, it was stated that the atium geodes would grow back in 300 years time, which may further contribute to atium being the lost metal. Additionally, while at a party Waxillium Ladrian sees each metal in a glass case with a plaque labeling them. Atium's case is empty with the plaque saying "Atium, the Lost Metal."

This seams contrary to the this WoB

    Questioner

I am also wondering, does atium actually still regenerate?

    Brandon Sanderson

    Atium does not regenerate.

    Questioner

    It stopped when--

    Brandon Sanderson

It stopped when Ati stopped existing. Yep.

Shadows of Self release party (Oct. 5, 2015)

  3. Do we have WoB that the "lost metal" is in reference Atium because that's the first thing that came to mind for me because in Shadow of Self Wax is at the party and sees the empty pedestal that says Atium the lost metal but later Wax is it the Pits of Hathsin so he knows exactly where the new Atium will be and in my mind, it is no longer lost.

So that leaves other metals like Lerasium if I remember correctly we have WoB saying that there were 16 beads of Lerasium and we only know what happened to 12 of them TLR gave 9 to some unknown people once he finished at the well of ascension then took one for himself then later Hoid takes one and Elend takes the other that leaves 4 still floating around somewhere and I would think Harmony would want to know where they are.

This also allows for a rejuvenation of alomancy for the later eras.

also as a side note will 16% of the population on Scadrial always have some Alomantic ability because all humans have some of preservations body in them or is that wrong.

also also this is all in reference to book 4 in era 2 being named The Lost metal.

Very true. I'd just like to get all of that clarified, because I'm not entirely sure Brandon knows how complicated a pregnancy is. It's not just making a uterus, there are hormones and things that need to be generated at just the right time, and a bunch of stuff.

    true enough

I actually really want to ask Brandon that at some point where he has a lot of time to answer. Because yeah, he says he thinks they could but..Does that mean that their body will automatically know what hormones to produce at what time in order to get the fetus to develop? I ask because kandra imitate, and they can't imitate what they haven't sampled, experienced or practiced with, and none of them would have any idea what hormones to create in order to successfully carry through a pregnancy. Like, they can't even grow hair. So the idea that they could actually create all the systems needed to support a fetus, and have them work exactly right is a little strange.

I kinda get the sense that a kandras are pretty smart about the human body like when MeLaan is able to fix up Marasi (if I remember MeLaan talks about some things that modern science is just barely able to do I think it was skin graphing) plus kandar have been doing a lot of experimenting on what they are capable of.

(edit): plus kandar all live for like 600+ years and have a better understanding of the human body than any given human could.

  6. I was just wondering if a kandar wanted to have a child could it replicate the requisite parts to give birth to one.

I was thinking of MeLaan and Wayne even though they would both probably be bad parents unless they took the "role" of being a parent.

I would be astonished if Dalinar is still facing the questions about his sanity or goals, after everyone saw what happened in Thaylen City. His political position should be stronger than ever.

He did do some obfuscating of the truth though OB which probably weekend him for a time but we won't see that because of the time jump.

  8. I agree that Jah Kevad will kick him out but what I am saying is that Dalinar speaking for all the radiants (he said We) won't be able to act at all against people in Kharbranth and they will make trouble because they can walk around with impunity from the radiants and the armys Dalinar leads.

Think about how the Stormfather sees oaths and how when Dalinar said we it could make problems.

No, Dalinar intends to protect all of Roshar, Jah kevad included.

Mr.T was talking about Kharbranth I think that Kharbranth will be used by Odium as a rallying point for the humans who fight the supporters of Honor. (or well another point other than the places he already has.)

  10. Is it just me or will this come back to bite Dalinar?

    Quote

We will protect them Taravangian I vow it.

Do you think we will see a Kal and Syl situation with Dalinar and the Stormfather or something worse or nothing at all?

I think this will almost definitely come up later and cause Dalinar trouble especially with the Stormfathers view on oaths.

Opened opened, or after-the-prologue opened? Because every Stormlight book in the first five-book arc, at least, has opened with another person's POV from the banquet when Szeth killed Gavilar. Not counting the prologue prologue to TWoK which was the breaking of the Oathpact.

I think he was talking about the first few actual chapters, not the prologue.

  12. I have a hope and a prediction that we will see Kal hit the 4th ideal at the very beginning of book 4. The reason I think we might see this is because in one of his recent streams (I can't find the WoB for it) Brandon said that some of the beta readers were surprised that book 4 opened with an action scene but I think he wouldn't have mentioned it if there wasn't more to it and my hope is that we will see Kal hit the 4th at one of the first chapters and that was why a lot of the readers was surprised.

They might be successful on elendel too. They have guns and mistings but they might just get overwhelmed by the viciousness , speed and the numbers of the Mongols. They might not have similar success over the South tho.

they would get bombarded by heavy artillery guns that would scare the hell out of them and break a charge their horses would freak out at the sound of guns too.

I don't think this would change anything - Tuon is easily one of the worst and most amoral people not sworn to the shadow. Remember that after she discovers that the A'dam only works for women who can channel, which means she can channel and is no different than a Damane, she goes to the Damane breaking room to relax?

I don't like her either and agree that she has a sick and wrong view of the world but she is not part of the shadow and if the founder of their "great empire" told her that hating aes sedai and women who can chanal was directly connected to the dark one then she would have no reason to keep the A'dam up and would have all the reasons in the world to stop it may be slow but I think she would come to the conclusion that the A'dam has a direct connection to the shadow and would have to stop it. I can't imagen anyone arguing that just because something was started by the shadow doesn't mean it is wrong.

  15. just make like 10 circles of 72 or as many as the aes sedai and asha'man can and have them just crush the Seanchean (have them men guiding so the aes sedai are not breaking the oaths). or just have teams of like 2 or 3 women and one man who would be able to overpower any of the Damane (if I am not mistaken the Seanchean cant even link at all because of the A'dam). I also think that over time a lot of the people living in Seanchean areas will go to the aes sedai to get tested before the Seanchean can take them.

just, in general, they don't have men and can't link remember how it is mentioned like 50 times how the greatest things were achieved with men and women and also the fact that they cant link would defeat them eventually because if you look at the breaking that was one of the reasons the world wasn't destroyed (that women can link) and the Seanchean can't link because of the A'dam

and who knows maybe hawkwing told tuon that his hatred of aes sedai was because of Ishamaels compulsion (I hope he did that would stop a lot of problems and wars).
