  1. Well, I didn't. And I'm going to not do it again! Do it again? Do, not doing it again? I'm going to not mention anyone in this post, and may again in the future.
  2. An individual is a squire up until they have a spren of their own, which means they can(and more often then not are) squires until they say the tied ideal.
  3. A relevant WoB
  4. ES - Emperor's Soul CR/PR/SR Cognitive, physical, and Spiritual realm respectively. DS: Dawnshard(the book, never used to refer to actual Dawnshards) ED: Edgedancer (the book, never used to refer to the Order) A-metal: allomantic metal, where metal can be any of the 16 gold, steel, iron etc F-metal: feruchemical version of the above. H-metal Hemalurgic version of the above.
  5. It is a poem, so that could just be used to indicate pacing.
  6. The same could be said of Shardblades and plate. That is true, but I don't think the bond is necessarily always with a Ryshadium. Just that Ryshadium were either commonly used, or created because of the bond. I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility that some knights chose creatures like chulls, whitespines, or Lanceryn.
  7. So, what if we made this a kind of game where you have to make a build that can beat whatever the last post was? Honestly @Cocoa's build is rather solid, with powerful offensive and defensive options. To beat that I think I'm going to take Well of Ascension level Allomancy for 1,000 points and try to win off sheer strength.
  8. The purelake vision Dalinar has shows a single Dustringer(you can tell because their armor glows red) and a dozen squires. I too was surprised that they had that many.
  9. Oh that's definitely what they want to do with it, but I was more meaning why they wanted it, if that makes sense.
  10. Slight double post but about this I found a WoB that says the same thing.
  11. So it was shown in TLM that allomancers can use identity-less investiture to hyperfuel their powers. Looking at it that way, a lot of the comments Brandon has made about Scadrial being low investiture start to make sense and I think I've figured it out. Allomancers, Sand Masters, and Aetherbound use physical materials to open small gateways to the spiritual realm in order to access their powers, whereas individuals like Radiants, Awakeners, Forgers, and Elantrains use investiture directly, allowing them to access it in a greater form. This puts using Stormlight and the Mists on the same level, which is why Brandon compared them so often Now I don't think that mistings getting identity free stormlight would be blasting apart buildings like Vin with Kredik Shaw, as that would require massive amounts of it, but they could definately use it to push on trace metals. This is why the ghostbloods are so intent on getting it, and why Selish, Nalthian and Rosharan magics seem so powerful compared to others. Pure investiture can elevate magic from powerful to insane.
  12. Other than potentially being the one able to bind creatures voidish or mortal, nothing solid. Not yet anyway. In the realm of pure speculation: Nohadon did write a book about the nature of leadership, so maybe Lead, or Guide, or something like that, though I still think Unite(or whatever it ends up being) is probably the most likely
  13. So I've seen this thought a few times and seen other people have similar thoughts, but I wasn't able to find any dedicated thread about it, so I thought I put it here. I have long been convinced that Nohadon held a Dawnshard based on this WoB But you know what, being me I decided to go deeper, I wasn't satisfied with just Nohadon haing been a Dawnshard, I needed more, and I chose this threads title with care. This WoB Shows a level of curiousity on Brandon's part about how this questioner came to the conclusion that Nohadon was still alive. Now Brandon could just be trolling, but I think there's a bit more. Honor raved that humanity used Dawnshards(plural) to destroy Ashyn(OB 1050), and in the Poem of Ista It mentions a Dawnshard known to bind creatures, this does not fit with what we know of Change, and the fact that the author felt the need to specify which Dawnshard indicates that they knew of multiple, which means that at least two had been brought over from Ashyn. However, if this Dawnshard was brought over, where is it now? In The Way of Kings, page 997 Honor implies that Roshar no longer has access to the Dawnshards, the question is: Why? Change was being guarded in Aimia, but where was this second one at? Of course, if Nohadon had it, he never really had a reason to give it up. Therefore I propose that not only did Nohadon at one point hold a Dawnshard, but that right now he is both alive and in possession of it. Ladies and Gentlemen of the jury, I rest my case.
  14. Welcome to Frustration's Firepower Index, a collection of threads where I rank the combat capabilities of Cosmere worlds, and Magic systems. This thread will be focused on the Dustbringers. Preparation: Be a warform singer and fifth ideal Dustrbinger, with a dozen second oath warform singer squires. Each squire is to have an aluminum halberds, or aluminum tipped arrows with a bow. Along with a bag of truthberry wood, and several pouches of spheres. Additionally they are to have various fabrials, such as painrails, blood attractors, and other weapons, such as shadbows(if for nothing else than for the dustbringer to use) The Dustbringer will also need multiple pouches of gemstones, and a bag fill of truthberry wood. Offenses: Shardplate grants increadible strength, adding to Warforms already impressive physical might. Shardblades can cut through almost anything, and can form any needed weapon or tool. Shardbows can fire increadibly high powered projectiles, painrails can incapacitate opponents, and blood attractors can pull the blood out of opponents. Additionally the aluminum weapons can bypass several forms of invested defenses. Division can break down just about any material, and can release truthberry smoke from the wood, which will impair the mind of the Dustbringer's opponent if they inhale it. Deffenses: Shardplate protects the wearer, giving them increadible durability, and resistance to most forms of damage. Additionally with Abrasion and Division they can cause their opponents weapons to slide off of them, or burn up on contact. Additionally with Stormlight they can heal from most forms of damage Mobility: With Abrasion Dustbringers can continuously increase in speed, without reguard for air resistance. And with division and shardblades they can burn and cut their way through most physical barriers. Stealth: Plate can be commanded to hide its glow, and spren can investigate places invisibly, but when using their powers they are highly visible. Awareness: Spren can search places invisibly while also overhearing conversations Extra abilities: With Division they can shape the ground to some extent, creating barriers, or pits to limit their opponent's mobility. As always what do you think? Did I miss anything? And what should I work on next?
  15. Alloy of Law chapter fifteen. Miles thinks about how the Words of Founding said that men could take to the skies.
  16. I would hardly call Sazed saying that flying machines are possible 'blueprints'.
  17. Would you prefer I did?
  18. Dalinar's Connection to the Thrill. And he says in RoW that he used to require the everstorm in order to speak with Moash and Taravangian.
  19. Gavilar himself didn't go, and as Odium requires the Everstorm to speak to people until much stronger Connection is formed, I don't think he could have done it.
  20. .... Thanks, that's kind of embarising.
  21. Just wait until you hit the Arcanum rabbit hole.
  22. The only person who could do all of that would be Cultivation I belive.
  23. Anytime a bunch of people are left alone without any set task will be crazy. For refrence see this thread.
  24. Some people would say it's a huge spoiler, I say that it's just a better experience reading BoM first, but that's all down to what you care about and how you classify spoiler sizes
