Your opinions on the Child Champion theory
Frustration replied to Frustration's topic in Stormlight Archive
Nice, I'm arguing against the people who actually support a child most commonly Gavilnor being Odium's champion. -

If it's not an actual child what are you arguing for? -

Brandon's stories have no tension to begin with but whatever. We have Dalinar's training Szeth's flashbacks, interleuds, finding BAM, and any extra plots Brandon feels like adding. There is more than enough for another book. And on top of this how does the posibility of a loophole necesitate a Child Champion, that has far more drawbacks than advantages, and doesn't even garuntee a breech of contract? -

I disagree but we're moving away from the discussion. What does that prove? -

Jah Keved was not part of the deal and the territory would not be accepted. And besides what they want doesn't matter. -

Singers Obey the fused, the Fused obey Odium, Odium says leave Alethkar, Fused say leave Alethkar, Singers follow. How do you think they got them to Kholinar? Vedens and Irali don't have a choice, they will follow the rules or they will be punished, Skybreakers are still around. -

Nale supports Odium, not the Singers, and without Regals or Fused what are they going to do? And on top of that the Fused are in chanrge and the singers obey them. -

Your premise is flawed, you assume that the Fused won't listen to him, they have to, he can take away their immortality. Stakes are irrelivent, we know that Dalinar won't lose so the fate of the entire Cosmere might as well be at stake but it won't make a difference. -
I was so happy when that chull was eaten by a Chasmfiend.

As I have said Anti-mist would be Scadrial's equivalent, just as antibreath would be Nalthis, or anti-dor would be Sel's An antilight grenade would be really easy to make. Brandon has never refered to Aluminum as anti-investiture, the clasest is it was a check on allomancy as it became more powerful. What else would they use but aluminum? With the exception of Raysium which is far too rare for them all to use everything else would get cut in two by a single hit. Again what tactics? Scadrial has no military. Stormlight isn't actual light The most heavily invested metalmind we have ever even heard of are the Bands, and a single shardblade is more invested than they are, and Nightblood is far beyond them, but even he isn't a perpendicularity. Feruchemy can't store other people's investiture, it's not keyed to their identity

I just.... wow called it five years early. @Sirce Luckwielder You are a legend Sirce Luckwielder (paraphrased) So each anti-investiture is like its world's investiture, but can't be effected by it. So aluminum can't be affected and destroys Allomancy, ralkalest can't be Soulstamped, Shardblades are blunted by that one thing. Is the black filled sphere that Galivar gives to Szeth the anti-investiture to Stormlight? Brandon Sanderson (paraphrased) When I asked this, he became much more tight-lipped and said that was an interesting theory and that I would learn more in book three. I'm not saying he isn't looking for a loophole just that a Child is not the one it's going to be. What does Brandon have to gain from it? A potentailly shoking twist, maybe a little moral skriming What does he have to lose? Given our polling data more people don't like it than those that do. It will be an uphill battle to get them on board. It ruins all sense of tension, and completly watses what could have been an epic scene. Can someone wiht SH find me the quote where Leras is talking about the deal? -

It didn't harm him, how is that a spiritual violation? and reguardless Coersion doesn't make you willing. Again willing champion. Not someone you shoved in a cell and stabbed a bunch of times. Also please hide the mistborn spoilers Just listen to all the gymnastics you have to do to justify the Child Champion, It's far easier to give evidence for El. also MB -

Legality has nothing to do with it, the contract would be spiritual and thus based upon the ideal of the contract, breaking it would let Cultivation splinter Odium with no threat of repercutions. Someone who is coerced into doing something isn't willing. -

Then that wouldn't be a willing champion. -
All Atium alloys have either a temporal or mental effect. When you have control of gravity heaviness becomes reletive, and besides, plate weighs 2,000 pounds on Roshar. And aside from that nothing in the reading actually indicates he's heavier than to be excpeted Scadrial is the least populated of the big four with Roshar being number 2 Gravitation works by manipulatting connections, not by applying force, so doubling your weight won't do anything. That would be like trying to drain the ocean wiht a bucket. Alluminum is inert not a counter, aluminum weapons would kill them just as easily as they would a bloodmaker. Anti-light for scadrial would be anti-mists. While theoretically possible something that takes several hundred years to be preformed one time isn't a significant enough edge to count for anything. They could only store their investiture.

I was just saying that his "death" was not evidence against it, I don't think he had a bond, I'm thinking it's an unmade but that's besides the point.

Surprising Sander-facts?
Frustration replied to ReadAndFindOut's topic in General Brandon Discussion
Bumping this becasue I found something new. Brandon's favorite hat is a fedora Mad Hatter To go along with my other obsession what is your favorite type of hat? Brandon Sanderson I do have a fedora that I’m somewhat attached to, but I haven’t worn it in years. When I was a high school kid, I would wear my fedora around until I discovered that wearing a fedora was already cliché for a nerdy kid like myself, which I found annoying since I’d been doing it because I thought it was original. I still have that fedora, which sits in my closet, and someday perhaps I will wear it. But the problem is that Dan Wells, my friend who writes in my writing group and in my basement, already wears a hat around. So I would feel like I was just copying Dan. Maybe I need to get a fez or something. He never got to the point the bond would have broken.

That also takes into account minor shardworlds and other allies Trellium was preventing Harmony from seeing where Paalm was, so I don't think it's unreasonable.
