  1. No we do not. I think we can excpect a high degree of similarity between Highly invested substance #1 and Highly invested substance #2.
  2. If it had a specific heat closer to 18KJ/g*K Marasi wouldn't even notice. Given how hard it is to melt shardblades it could be something like 180KJ/g*K
  3. I disagree but I'll allow that it's possible. That's not how heat works. Heat is defined by kinetic energy, every substance has a specific heat measured in joules per grams time degrees Kelvin. Basically certain substances need more heat in order to raise by the same temperature. So iron has a specific heat of .45 j/g*k while water has a specific heat of 4.184 j/g*k Menaing in order to increase the temperature of 1 gram of iron by 1 degree Kelvin you need to add .45 Joules of heat, but if you wanted to increase 1 gram of water by 1 degree Kelvin you would need 4.184 Joules of heat. So even if exposed to the same heat iron would experience a greater increase in temperature. So if Mist has a really high specific heat they would experience a small change in temperature.
  4. We've known since RoW that Honor placed restirctions on Bondsmiths but that his restrictions are no longer in force. However we have indication that other orders have similar restrictions that are being lifted. Truthwatchers So one of the Truthwatchers has seen the future, but he's not corrupted like Renarin So he obviously has this ability by default, however this cannot have been there the entire time otherwise they wouldn't have such a stigma against future sight. This is also about the time that Bondsmith abilities begin to be unbound. Cohesion likewise had limits placed on it due to Tanavast's bad experience with Microkinesis. Unfortunetly those are the only orders that we can acuretly guess just how they were limited but it seems reasonable to assume that they all had something like that as Brandon wants to keep discoveries fresh
  5. Brandon tends to limit his questions to reasonable amounts, when he does talk about extremes he makes it obvious. Sorry edit.
  6. He never said anything about them having the same amount of speed, the short is to specify that Steel/steel will outlast Steel/pewter, as they can replenish their stores. Where Steel/pewter cannot. Brandon has said that there is a point at which feruchemy will no longer protect you. I can't say about anyone else but I'm far more intrested in the steel speed cap debate than anything. Marasi was also at Mistpoint, and Mists are cold, and likely have a high specific heat so they can take the extra.
  7. Devotion, Ambition, and Whimsy all have emotional natures to them. Devotion even being tied to love. Ruin also mentions Passion in a significant way.
  8. Orders with Gavitation can fall in any direction and can overcome terminal velocity.
  9. So 200 mph is realtivly safe, might hurt a little bit but it would be so little as to be a non-factor. But if drag increases with the square of speed than going even close to sonic speeds is beyond what steel can do.
  10. Yeah I don't know enough to calculate that. Well one spike simultaiously acts as a blessing, hides her from Harmony, and allows her to steal powers. So there is something weird, whether or not it affects the power itself is yet to be seen but there is something weird. Doesn't it really hurt to go from that to spread eagle?
  11. I never said it was a good one, or particularly effective, but they have it. It's also possible it was founded during the timeskip.
  12. This is reminding me of the time we concluded that there are basically infinate Allomantically viable metals
  13. We don't see that scene from her perspective though, it was from someone at normal speed. She can also telepathically talk to Wax, and use those spikes as blessings. Additionally this is the first time we see Shardmetal's used as spikes. I think it would be closer to Raboniels suppression fabrial, even if it worked by touching the blade, which I doubt, it wouldn't hurt them, it would simply force them into their spren form. It took Nightblood to chip an Honorblade, I don't think even Fullborn are going to get even close to that, even if only on a spren. Even with that Steel won't protect you from wind resistance, or friction. So the Bands are doing something here.
  14. Yes. That's weird. Not like I'm one to talk I prefer cheap food to pricy food
  15. Or you have four guns. And on top of that Palm had acess to some strange magic so I don't think using her as an example is fair. EDIT: Yo I just figured out how to quote people in an edit. The mods are going to come get me now, because no man whould have this much power. I don't think it would work on spren, as Chromium doesn't seem to be able to affect souls. Now it might be possible as a chromium equivalent to pushing on trace metals, but with Spren's additional investiture adding resistance I don't know if it will be a reasonable accomplishment. Additionally Plate would resist having it's stormlight drained, and assuming it only needs to use light to repair will insulate the Radiant as well. Stormlight will leak through your skin just by holding it, the more you hold the faster it will leak, however once you start breathing your stormlight is exhaled increadibly quickly.
  16. I won't say that's impossible, but I feel that's outside steel's normal limit. Edit: @Nameless Steel/steel would obviously have more speed to compress therefore steel has a reasonable limit otherwise the steel compounder would blow past the Steel/pewter as the mild boost pewter gives in comparison would not be able to overcome it.
  17. So something else is going on, it's not just steel, it's more powerful than it should be.
  18. The main reson being A-pewter F-steel is faster and Double steel This is kind of a stretch here but even TLR who is far stronger with Allomacy than anyone else we have seen would lose to Rand Which I mean isn't saying much because you know... Rand. But moving at unbealivable speeds to try and kill him still wouldn't work.
  19. You would likely need to compound Nicrosil as well I don't think steel on it's own will get up to those speeds. Just on a mechanics standpoint still completly doable. Fullborn Nicrosil compounds steel and then Duralumin pushes you into the stratosphere.
  20. I have found a way for the Radinat to win Step 1: Be the protagonist. Step 2: Have the plot require you to win. Step 3: Profit. Jokes aside I don't see any way a 1 vs 1 ends up with a Radiant victory other than attacking unexcpectedly and hoping ot kill them before they get a chance to react. Which is already hard and kind of cheating. Once Radiants get a 2 or 3 person advantage it becomes possible, but still insanly hard. That's a bit of an overstatement, Fullborn can get to supersonic speeds but the only time we see that was with metalminds so full that they were indistinguishable from aluminum and after only a few seconds of use were being drained so fast that it surprised the user. However the fact that it is possible should remain in consideration. EDIT: Supersonic not Hypersonic
  21. Source? Once Kaladin starts breathing the last of his stormlight disipates rather quickly.
  22. You mean this one? So she no longer has enough stormlight to sustain her without breathing, and she walks over to Wit and has a full conversation with him before getting more. Meaning that she's out long before she takes in more.
  23. She spent 2 hours fighting without refill, and everything between lines was talking to Wit, with no mention of Stormlight, she was out.
  24. On living shardplate not needing light So Jasnah is still wearing her armor, which is too heavy to do much of anything with without its additional strength, but doesn't have any Stormlight.
