Scadrial vs. Roshar post Lost metal.
Frustration replied to Frustration's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Um, shards literally can do that. That's basically the entire basis of Marsh in HoA. Elhokar would have had them executed, the right of inquest blocked him from doing that, the only reason they died anyway is because Elhokar extralegally kept them in jail without inquest. Would a human buy anything they thought was interesting? They can't use them. About what? -
The funny thing is everything you said above is 100% true. and let's not even get started on the interplanetary portals, and the ability to create nukes on demand. Agreed, there aren't any stakes anymore. And while I think the powers are all consistent, that might be because of how much time I spend studying this. If it makes you feel better Brandon did introduce ways to drain stormlight and kill spren, but he also let Kaladin beat everyone he fought despite losing most of his powers in the same book so... They are less powerful and don't have shards. I don't feel like they were ever threats in the first place.

Then I can argue most Mistborn don't train with Chromium or Bendalloy, they mostly focus on the first 14 metals. -
Which Brandon notes as being almost impossible. Jasnah runs out of light, walks across a field, and has a conversation with Wit, but her armor doesn't lock up.

Scadrial vs. Roshar post Lost metal.

Era 3 takes place after SA 10. How's his plot spoiled by WoK Prime if he's dead? If he takes over them and the Scadrian army is closer they will attack them. And you know he isn't coming back because... Fabrials are common enough that most families have a heating fabrial, and even enlisted army men can afford to send messages via spanreed. Spanreeds are easily an equivalent of late stage telegrams as they stand right now. And not only that but they're getting cheaper, the have breeding programs making larger gemhearts(RoW 745), and fabrial techniques are spreading. The Azish have an established right to protest for a month where they can make known any grievance, and the government can't interfere. People of fourth nahn or higher can leave their city which decreases the rights and powers of their former citylord. They have a lot of influence. And that's not to mention, that on Roshar, anyone, be they a king, or an urchin beggar, can overnight be thrust into the highest and most powerful groups in society. They have the right of inquest. That food has to cross multiple planets to get there, and then you have to not only have enough to feed your army, but also a significant portion of the population? Vin discovered it on accident. If every Scadrian can learn the dozens of bindpoints along with metals then Roshar is aware of it. When I said these discussions can go for 73 pages I wasn't kidding. There are 15m people in the Basin, with mistings being 1 in a thousand(BoM 190) No, it literally says Connection allows you to do it. Um, no they do. Azish right to protest, Vorin rights of inquest, travel, learning, etc. What do they have spren would want? All of their tech is dependent on Scadrian power sources. -

Actually, it doesn't matter. The earth isn't exercising any stronger pull on the moon, just one continuous pull of the same strength. Ergo, Vin doesn't need anything stronger than a simple pull on the gate I'll look into that. -
How flash are we talking here?

Poll: Favorite main character besides Kaladin
Frustration replied to Stitof's topic in Stormlight Archive
Szeth would have my vote even if Kaladin was on here. -
Because they have shavings in their stomach. If they burned their earrings then they would fall out, causing the. To lose them. And you can't tap uninvested piercings.
-
Yes, They can get the earrings, which they wouldn't be burning.
-
No problem.
-
Let me see if I can help you out. When a compounder stores something on their metalminds, they have especially created a new allomantic metal, that when burned gives them the feruchemical trait. And you really don't have unlimited, any more than a Mistborn has unlimited steel pushes, you can just save up your trait for use later like you can normal feruchemy.
-
That post is from five years ago.
-
Oh, then you should not here the jokes about evi.
-
Then how do they leech away metals that aren't being burned?

Yes, given the number of onlookers watching Sazed. Not to mention that it probably never got mor than a few degrees of rotation. Vin passed out headbutting a guy, but didn't for this, ergo this must have been less force. -
Scadrial vs. Roshar post Lost metal.

How fortunate that he gets to that point for the back five, and that Dalinar is currently working on solving that problem, ten years before this has to even come up. Yes it does, if there aren't any alive, you don't have them. That's not how that works. Just think about that, how is the allomancy getting stronger? Um, always? No they don't, do you know how hard that is, not just at all but in combat? It would be next to impossible. You're the one who brought the south Scadrians and the Koloss in. Mind controlls them and turns them against Scadrial, just like he did with Amarams forces at the end of OB. *Kandra. And how? They can't impersonate Radiants, there is basically no way to kill them in Urithiru, and any Elsecaller, Lightweaver, or Willshaper that looks at them in the CR will see them for what they are. How are you getting those to Roshar? They are far too large to get through the perpendicularity, and even if you somehow managed the Highstorm/everstorm would tear them to pieces and the water would set off the bombs. Oh that war ended ten years ago. And if Scadrial is united so is Roshar. You can't spike dead people. There are four bondsmiths who can all do the same thing. Not that it would matter as Nergaoul could control all of them. That is literally not true at all. They are just as vulnerable as anyone else. Pewter only doubles strength While Shardplate allows you to easily hold shardhammers in one hand which three people would struggle to pick up(WoK 415) They have indoor plumbing, cisterns built behind houses basically give everyone their own water tower. So unlike Scadrian water theirs isn't dependent on the city having power. Ans that was ten years ago, water attraction fabrials have probably become common, so their plumbing is even better. And the fact that Cultivation's tone in conjunction with stormlight allows a single farmer to easily quadruple their current output never entered your consideration? And Chouta is soulcast food that tastes good. Stormlight is better than electricity in every way. Not only can it do everything electricity can and more it's also free. The oceans are perpendicularities. The spren see off worlders all the time. Roshar is a hub of interplanetary trade, what do they have to be curious about? The Nightwatcher doesn't play a word game, she gives you what you want, with a curse of whatever she decides. While Shaladin might have the longest thread in the book discussions the post RoW thread is number 2. And if you add all the Mistborn vs. Radiant, and other similar threads together it blows Shaladin out of the water. Roshar's battle ended ten years before this, and Scadrial got invaded and the Malwish uses it to extort the Basin. Both sides are about equally divided. Given the number of false claims I've seen from the "pro scadrian" side I find this funny. -

With a large radius it's not that much difference. -
Breaths when in a person are inactive, and thus easier to drain.

Yeah, for less than a single rotation. A few degrees at best. That won't result in any difference especially without a physical connection. -
Then why is it that as soon as Nergaoul is bound Amarams army is released?
-
Enough to become a shardblade, but it is not as invested as a spren shardblade, for the same reasons that Elsecallers are not as invested than a Bondsmith.

Bro what? Vin did not feel any additional forces, she redirected an object in motion, she didn't spin it in a circle around her.
