Actually, Miles was cleverer than that. He "spiked" himself with normal gold, so that the goldminds would be unable to be Pushed/Pulled, even when empty. Like what the Lord Ruler did with his Atiumminds. And because the gold spikes are "inside" him, he can burn it to Compound. Allomancy isn't limited to the stomach.

To be fair, are the Oathgate spren described as resembling an Inkspren and a Cryptic? also why a Cryptic instead of a Lightspren, which shares Transportation with Inkspren? I think the Oathgate spren are an Inkspren and Lightspren "evolved" by a Bondsmith injecting extra Investiture into them (kinda like... non-unmade? I guess? but not that strong). So the Soulcaster spren could be Cryptics and Inkspren "evolved" as well, perhaps with less overall Investiture added to them. That would make them seem distinct, but they don't appear to be massive like Oathgate spren do.

You might be right... but then, an Atium spike might work for that? Dunno... Atium spikes "Must be refined" by the way. According to the chart, at least. What does that even MEAN? Atium from the geodes is pure, right? does that mean you need to make an Atium alloy to specify what it does? But then what's the point of using Atium for the spike?!

I suppose in all of these cases, fabrials included, what we're discussing here is changing the Investiture in use. Spren are, after all, fragments of Honor/Cultivation. ...That begs the question, if you could put the Mists inside a gemstone, could you spoof Allomantic effects with a fabrial?

I feel like Lerasium would steal all of a person's "Human attributes", like strength, intelligence, emotional stability. The non-power stuff hemalurgy can steal.

Ooooohhhh... Now i'm really excited for this.

This is looking pretty hype. Can't wait to see how it actually plays out. Is this basically going to be "SA but without magic"?

Re: "You need a ton of spren to make a full suit of plate" Don't make a full suit of plate out of them. Make arm/leg/etc guards that cover vulnerable spots. leave the joints and stuff open. Sure, if you don't have real Plate, it's not gonna help protect those, but then, without real Plate, nowhere would be protected. Bonus round: get very skilled at manifesting a single Radiant Spren as an arm/leg/etc guard very swiftly.

I was thinking Nimbleform would be windspren tbh. Mateform is almost definitely lifespren. Warform "comes to those with the will" so perhaps Determinationspren if such a thing exists. Workform allegedly brings "freedom from fear", it could be somewhat poetic if it requires a Fearspren (face your fear and embrace it to overcome it)

I didn't say it fixed everything, sir.

Put the sprenbladeplate over regular shardplate. weight problem solved, lol

HMMM Interesting ratio... Dunno what else to say about it without being overly blunt.
-
Yeah, that's roughly what I'm expecting.

LOL

CLUNK CLUNK CLUNK interwoven with jinglejangly metal noises. awesome.
-
Or jinglyjangly? Which could sound cool. I'm thinking something like chain maille's jingling noises.

Oh, interlocked/overlapping cousinspren like the plates over the thigh gap?
-
Spren as a cape? Can spren be soft metal? ...Tension/Cohesion doesn't work on Invested things...

So, I've been wondering, just how much control would a Radiant have over their "living" set of Shardplate? The properly glowy, dismissable/summonable kind of plate we see in the Visions, of course. As a Lightweaver, I would totally want to be able to have my plate be sleek and form-fitting simply so that I could wear real clothes on top and still look nice, without having to give up the defensive and enhancing qualities of Plate. It would also be great for deception; you'd think I have the strength and speed of a normal person, until I actually start trying to make use of the plate's enhancements. Also; capes. I imagine there are good points on plate to attach a cape (we see the highprinces in the warcamps doing that, right?), but if I was a Radiant who could dismiss my plate, I'd want to be able to wear the cape and summon Plate over it without concealing it, y'know? Would I have to leave a gap in the back which would end up being a weak-point? I think until we get more info on that specifically the answer is either "no capes" or yes, you would need to make some sort of opening for it which could be exploited, especially because that would be right over the spine. Instakill if someone can fit a shardblade in there.

Hmm, the poll there is only individual orders in people's top 3; which is understandable: listing every possible combo of 3 orders would be insane and infeasible. Sadly that means I can't get the info I want from it... not easily, at least.

allomantic metals around the cosmere
Halyo_Alex replied to Trutharchivist's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I keep having a mental image of something like a diamond (rhombus?) shaped crystal embedded in the chest of a singer, with a metal frame. Kinda like the chest gems from anime and stuff (which would technically be on-theme with the giant swords, glowing superheroes stuff).
