  1. No idea. I was wondering the same actually.
  2. They were all his friends and they did not believe in him they believed in Preservation. Knowing their actual mission Reshek probably chose them for their personal loyalty to him. These were not selected randomly.
  3. It is possible to reseal a book and even if not someone else could have independently come across the same information as the author.
  4. Yeah. Not looking forward.
  5. Yeah but the author might have told someone or someone else might have gotten to the book first. That scenario does not indicate that you are the only one. In fact no scenario that I can think of actually guarantees what you want.
  6. Initially I would stick with the tell no one policy. I would be interested in the implications though. You might need that later. Also someone clearly wrote the book which means someone else has read it. I hope you will wait for some form of verification first. You see I accidentally stepped on a nail one time and afterward I started hearing voices...
  7. Sure. The stormfather predates the shattering. He was just assigned to Honor afterward. If Adonalsium had more splinters they would also be assigned but they would also be living and potentially even independent.
  8. A splinter of Adonalsium would be assigned to one of the 16 after the shattering.
  9. When should he use it? He did not finalize his oath until after the battle was over.
  10. All spren seem bound. Captain Ico can't explain why he thinks surges are dangerous. According to Syl "dead" plate is a different kettle of fish all together. Except they deadeyes in this case are happy. Content. It does not bother Syl.
  11. Good to hear.
  12. It is sparely settled and extremely cold. Also very little food grows there. Yes soulcasters can get offset that but I doubt the fused want to go there anymore then Dalinar's army does. They are not usually taken seriously by larger nations. They do have a navy but it was likely decimated by the everstorm, they had no warning that it was coming and the singer population would probably have stolen any remaining boats as they did in Theylenah. The Stormfather is not allowing Dalinar to manipulate or even know of the highstorms. He also seems pretty convinced that humans sailing during storms is bad. Agreed. The crownlands are also probably less populated then the rest of Alethkar and might be a good place to settle refugees.
  13. Welcome! The coppermind is as good a place as any. Also a surprising amount can be learned by just reading discussions between sharders. A couple weeks ago one of the mods published a general introduction(you can find it under the news tab). Another thing to note is that much of the background we have is speculative or at least not taken from directly observed events or statements.
  14. Yes. Otherwise genealogists would be able to track all mistborn.
  15. I don't see it as any different from what the singers do and that is a natraul part of the ecosystem. It causes no one any pain.
  16. Allrianne is not an allomancer even though her father is not. Feruchemy absolutely can(Reshek once transformed all living feruchemists ignoring the latent potential). Steris has the potential to have misting children even though she is not one(hence the kidnapping).
  17. Why? Only the blades are around. Plate is not relevant. I don't think they spend time around humans or humans with plate. We also know that Syl can't tell Kaladin certainy things(like how to make a blade).
  18. We don't know who has Taln's blade. I assume you mean Jes's but that was only accomplished with Taravangian's help and Dalinar does not trust him anymore. But his value is like a king on the chessboard. Risking him is foolish. He is the only one ever to do direct damage to Odium himself.
  19. Is it? They also gain trade through the oathgates, easy access to powerful colleagues and acsess to the latest reaserch in several increasingly important fields. For starters have him evaluate and coordinate the battle plans so that everyone can support each other and not get in each others way. He also might be able to coordinate battles remotely through spanreads given good enough observers and if the fighting gets near an oathgate he can recharge radiants during battle.
  20. It is a mess. A dead body can be cut. This is how they extract gemhearts from casmfiends. There are descriptions in WoKs.
  21. Great question. We don't know the answer.
  22. Or you could lash a rock at it at very high speeds and just kill someone with impact damage, or soulcast oil above them and burn them to death or use division to create lightning or sneak attack to get behind the shield with a Lightweaving, or abrasion the ground so that they can't hold the shield up, or use a number of other tactics. A Al shield is actually a pretty useful equalizer especially if accompanied with armor and insulated padding but if you let one guy have specialized weaponry then the other one gets it too and I don't think you really do anything beyond making the fights more about brute force and less about magic and tactics. In a brute force match up radiants with plate still win.
  23. Welcome to the shard. Do you know what radiant you are?
