I think we have fairly good evidence this is not what happened as Odium is not actually and has never been bond by the oathpact. The way I see it Mistborn spoilers
Similarly Honor kept Odium in place via the power of binding(with Cultivation adding juice) and Odium escaped by his own power. The power of pushing and hating and never giving up.
In point of fact I think the stigma exists primarily in the fandom as few Rosharans know what a Dustbringer is let alone how they are different from other Radiants. Still I see your point. We have made large judgements about these people from an incredibly small sample size.
Thank you and likewise.
Perhaps but he is also vary concerned with the attitudes involved in fighting. As Kaladin noted. Fighting against an enemy requires dehumanizing them and treating them as other and I do not think that he is comfortable in that kind of situation.
Which is not based on any law. It is the default because it was what the Heralds received no other reason. The Heralds are impressive but I do not think that they can define what it means to be a Radiant anymore then you or I can. The shardblade also has utility it does not have to be for killing. Also just because your profession's skill set lends itself to something does not meen that you must be that something. I could argue that all surgeons must also be soldiers because they work with sharp blades and know how to kill people quickly.
But only defensibly, he still does not like hurting others. And when he does "fight" it is against voidbringers whose status as actual beings is questionable(I personally see them more as sentient forces of destructive hatred).
He also says he is shackled and that this impairs what he can effect in the real world(paraphrasing from his first conversation with Dalinar) I don't think we have any real idea what this means.
That is the thing. I don't think he would. Lirin might restrain someone but I don't think he is capable of causing physical damage to another being he deems human.
Inquisitor stealsight allowed them to see internal origins in humans that had metalic makeups. Reshek was even more powerful then this. I would not put it past him to be able to affect blood with a strain.
Sorry.
I don't think that you can tap while asleep. You could train yourself to automatically tap under certain circumstances(like when the watch buzzed)
Don't we have WoB confirmation that Taln is maintaining the oathpact? If that is true then I definatly agree with your theory. Also Nale would make a terrible Yalig-nar host.
The prequel series is a bit better but I never thought her books were amazing. That being said her first three books are not half bad I actually realy like the villain(who you have not met yet).
