Who? This still seems a lot like cheating from a narrative standpoint. Radiant training might be working better but I find it difficult to believe we just get + Radiants. What orders will they be from? How many oaths will they have sworn. Are we going to suddenly get entire groups of stonewards out of nowhere? Agreed. However I see Aladar as a more behind the scenes type. I think it will more likely be the Khals or perhaps Adolin leading. Agreed. Wow. Very bold. I don't see that happening but you do you. Hmmm. I don't realy see that happening.

They have not. They have discovered the pieces of the puzzle and we will put them together during book 4.\ The Stump may come(we already know about her). I don't think any others will. It may be a political necessity to order Szeth to go to jail while the monarchs figure out what to do with him. And politicians never waste useful resources or make bad decisions based on fear...

Seems too significant to happen off screen. Sure but simply adding new radiants seems like cheating. Also should happen on screen. Same as above. Happy coincidence? Also same as above. They can't break it. Dalinar could just order him to go to jail. It is still in either crisis or denial mode. It is not the same power.

I kind of doubt this one. Squire promotion I can see. New Radiants just showing up at Urithiru might be stretching things a bit. I doubt it. Maybe to Adolin under promises of secrecy. Put it under a microscope(metaphorically). Other then that nothing. My thoughts on what has happened Rock's novella(horneater king FTW). Szeth will have been jailed. Venli will have some singers she can rely on(to some degree). The bridge crews will have more training. Some rebuilding will have happened in Theylen city and the Alethi war camps. Potentially we will have a partial relocation there. Jasnah will have settled in as queen. More people will have arrived at Urithiru. Urithiru should at this point have group of laws describing governance, and succession. The Oathgates will now be largely a mundane convenience. Adolin will be able to do something extra with Maya(just a theory).

I was pointing out the child endangerment aspect. Agreed.

Sigh. Jasnah is now a queen so it would not work as well. Why not Shallan? She is a princess by marriage now and it would fit in better with their relationship.
-
I have a hard time believing Navani would ever allow that or that Gavilar could do it without people noticing(where has our warlord/king been all this time?).

Thank you for finding that quote it was what I was looking for. They could just levy taxes when you walked onto the gate. After all forcing or cheating your way past the Radiants seems pretty unlikely. Regardless. Odium does have an honorblade. This means he can use the oathgates assuming that he has oathgates is in his possession that are still functional. Odium also has the ability to fix a broken oathgate(per theylen field statements + he is kind of a god). Retaking Kolinar when both sides can summon thousands of reinforcements at any time sounds like a bloodbath. Additionally Odium has some nice travel options for his forces(he can get them across most of northern Roshar without much trouble).

Her "lunacy" happened when she was a child. I seriously doubt that child Jasnah could have made the journey to the valley.

Not exactly. Many worked on the docks and in caravans too.

@Atrias Seems to work for me.

This is actually a fairly good point. However spren have some drawbacks. From what Syl says in her "people are discord" speech spren are actually fairly unimaginative and predictable. They also seem to have gaps in their understanding based on their purpose. Can you imagine any of our spren leading an army successfully? Same strategy as warefare in general. Let your people die in order to kill other people. He won't even force his own people to his side if they have different interpretations of the law then he does. A large number of skybreakers could fight on any side of the war. Honor is dead so that is a moot point. I think she played hooky. "You traveled while I memorized songs!" So I don't think we will get as much intel this way. Ulim withheld specific information from Venli in order to get her on his side. This does not exclude him telling her other things that we might want to know. Even if that is true, and we do not know that it is, passing comments could be invaluable. I seriously doubt that the Stormfather will let Dalinar tell him to do anything with the highstorms. He already does not do always come when Dalinar tells him to. I don't think the fused go through shadesmar. The ones who are their now seem to have come from the Horneater peaks. Because Rlain is a singer and as such can infiltrate enemy camps more easily then anyone else. Accent practice is possible. They are also pretty bad at speaking Alethi. Rlain has practiced speaking for the past several months in Alethi. Also he can attune rhythms well enough that he can probably pass any causal inspection with ease. Also I kind of doubt that the singers or fused have much experience with individuals who side with humans. Agreed. He was not highprince before and they needed someone who new the city. Having multiple POVs show the same thing is generally a bad idea. However when conflicts are internal(as they often are in SA) it often makes sense to have more then one of the same kind. Raiding is nasty but if their are ongoing military conflicts between armies most of the fused will be required there since the fused will likely have to hold every military rank above squad leader and they will be needed to help the singers who will likely be far worse fighters. The wall guard was not realy trying to kill the fused just scare them off. We have never seen the fused do anything like the reverse lashing that Kaladin can do against archers. Or just get more powerful bows with barbed heads. A hit with one of those will be difficult to remove and force constant healing by the fused until they die. That will only realy work during the weeping. Highstorms are fairly regular. They can only do this when the fabrials are active. If you get a good network in place that is set up in a more organized fashion all the person would have to write is SOS location + number and type of attackers. Then they can turn it off run away and hide. If you just strait up invade Alethkar the fused will largely be too occupied for raiding. You will have to do this anyway to get the land you want. He can't show everything happening even if this is Sanderson. Some stuff is going to happen off page. ? I see no reason why a third level can't have squire. It will take time but not years. Remember the desolation usually increases the numbers of Radiants as the spren realize that humans and spren need each other to survive. Kaladin is good enough after only a few months. Same with Shallan and Lift and Dalinar and all of Kaladin's squires... The heightened tensions of a desolation tend to speed things up. What are you talking about? Getting good at battlefield command takes time. I challenge you to name one successful commander in the modern age who did not have at least a decade of prior military experience.

Seen it before with Vin

We don't know if she is still married or not.
-
Shrugs. You will. However they will be replaced as the lower level Radiants advance. Being a squire is not realy any different from being a soldier and most Lighteyes volunteer for their positions. You will probably always have more volunteers then viable candidates anyway. The singers will get steadily better the longer they are awake. However you realy can't train someone for high level command in under a decade. Basically their is no substitute for experience no matter how good your teaching methods are. No idea. However Szeth has the ability to train skybreakers just like Nale does so I assume this will even out over time.
-
Actually at a certain point I think you can. Remember killing a Radiant does not kill the spren and spren generally weather the death of their Radiant. Squires can be replaced fairly easily and Nightblood is capable of killing a fused permanently. Additionally many fused will be needed for none combat duties across Roshar training singers to read and write, in command, in farming techniques and architecture. Humans can fill these jobs with skilled people who are not surgebinders.

That is not what I said. If absolutely no other author could make a book that anyone wanted to read then no other author should make books. If, like in the real world, multiple authors can make multiple books of differing but still good levels of qualities then of course they should all keep working.

I believe these words have been accepted. Welcome. PS. Have you read Arcanum unbound yet?
