  1. All of them? At the same time? Winces. Good luck on your mission!
  2. This is pretty much a given but Jasnah being a awesome. This is something I expect Brandon.
  3. Yes. I kind of want SA to mostly focus on Odium and have BAM saved for the back five. I want to see a fully active Radiant army.
  4. I for one do not want to see Ba-Ado-Mishram released. That sounds... bad.
  5. I was offering an alternative explanation for a phenomena. I did not say that hemalurgy is going away. Also Excisors could just be identity and investiture storing metalminds.
  6. They could be held in aw and respect just because they make life possible. No giving up of life required.
  7. My one problem with this theory is the scarcity of Metalborn in the south. If this is in fact true the number of people who you can metalurgize(that is a word now!) is quite limited. They are also considered divine hemalurgizing them might provoke a negative reaction.

a question I have had for a while is about lifts gift for investiture. In my reading of SLA and edgedancer, I think lifts ability to convert food into investiture as a wonder gift with alot of distinct advantages ( For example, having access to her powers when there is not an available source of investiture . However, am I correct in assuming that it would also dramatically limit the level of investiture mastery she will be able to achieve. It seems that the level of investiture she is granted by eating is dramatically less than that of other Radiants.

Why do you think that it is less?  We have seen her grow trees and heal large groups of people and slide around for hours.

Only food she has not yet fully metabolized is converted(she can't use food she had turned into fat deposits or whatever) the food vanishes after a time.  She is also a growing teenager who just hit puberty and she spends a lot of time without money or other ways to acquire food easily.

a lot of this stuff is in edgedancer.

  9. Adolin mentions that soulcasters generally avoid others and vice versa. Shallan manages to sketch some though so I think they are more common then you might realize(considering that they are used for basically everything in the warcamps I would say much more common). They can leave the life at any time. Shallan's WoKs suitor says as much and upsetting your intellectuals is a historically bad idea. Anything any ardent owns or carries is owned by their owners. All soulcasters belong to the king according to Shallan's brother in the going over her father's dead body scene. Even if you can't buy insurgence the cost probably averages out assuming you are careful. It is realy the same with the stock market and yet banks still make reliable returns just by having a large portfolio.
  10. Only new ones possible are the G-metals.
  11. I also find myself doubting that some of these will work.
  12. I doubt all of them are viable. It might be that Trellum for example only works with Hemalurgy.
  13. If they realy thought that this was a big problem they could just train more people to share the load between them. I have a hard time believing that the Ardentia is so neutered that they would not object to their people being killed every time a highprince wants to expand their warcamp.
  14. I do not think that they need an incredible number of gemstones. Think about how much grain you could buy for just a few large emeralds. I don't have WoR with me right now but in the coppermind chapter summary for 35 Adolin converses with the main ardent soulcaster Kadash and learns that their services are in high demand and that they have to increase their training and work shifts. If Soulcasters are in incredible high demand then they should be giving them maximum shifts at all times and training should be as hard as possible as long as possible. This indicates that the gemstones are realy what limits the soulcasters not the soulcasters themselves.
  15. No idea. No idea If Kenton is right he has already been overmastering for several years. Probably not. Because the highest ranked members wanted to retain their authority over the lowest ones. Hoid would risk a lot of things. If I had to guess he is looking for how to use Sand Mastery.
  16. But soulcasters are not limited. Remember. They only start using them at higher efficiency in WoR. They have been at war for at least a good 6 years before that.
  17. This makes much more sense. However this also means Shallan is a bit stupid for not realizing that the soulcaster she is trying to steal from Jasnah will not solve her problems. You can't money launder without money to launder.
  18. Exactly my point. How does this make money? Their worth is based on how much you can get out of them. Not how much each soulcasting gives you. You are forgetting convenience. It is mostly people like royalty who use soulcasters not ordinary merchants and they tend to use them in remote locations. A gemstone is therefore worth. What a king or other military leader will pay for a convenient source of supplies the average amount of supplies a gemstone produces right next to his base minus the cost of transporting said gemstone(negligable) minus the opportunity cost of soulcaster use(also fairly negligible). I doun't see how you can make money just by having a soulcaster.
  19. You must be of MaiPon descent to forge.
  20. The WoB says it would be sensible for Hoid to avoid it and that Hoid does not know if Nightblood could kill him.
  21. Syl will become part of him. This is how he will fuse with Honor.
  22. This is why he will give them to Kaladin. So that Kaladin can bemoan all of the broken oaths. After all. Kaladin's suffering must increase exponentially.
  23. YKYASF when you immediately think you could just soulcast to fix that.
  24. I tried. They were not quite round and I found this rather irritating.
