Aln smiled. "Ah, wonderful. We're actually about to start a guild meeting, so you have excellent timing." She reached into the satchel at her side and retrieved a small slip of paper from it. "Here," she said, handing it to Myriad. "If you would just sign this." The paper read: I, the undersigned, hereby pledge myself to the Guild of Scholars, and promise to strive to gather and spread knowledge throughout the Alleyverse and corresponding worlds. Signed, _______________

After a moment, a short woman in a long brown coat entered through the door in the back. She gave the newcomer a better, quizzical look, then held out her hand. "I'm Alanis Sheneth, Head of the Scholar's Guild. How may I help you?"

Sarah dropped her speedbubble as Farin left, and quickly sat down, accidentally crumpling her questionnaire.
-
I just realized that my character Sarah is marked as a Cadmium misting, while I had envisioned her as a Bendalloy misting. I had confused the two terms in my head. I'm very sorry. How much trouble would it be to get that changed? I don't believe that it will put her over the point limit.
-
"And the best part is," she continued enthusiastically, "From the outside, all they see is a brief blur. They can hardly tell something happened. I'll show you. Here, stand up." Sarah stood, placing her blank questionnaire on the seat behind her.
-
Sarah began burning her metal, and a speed bubble sprang up around them, engulfing their two chairs. Outside, time abruptly slowed. People paused in the middle of their sentences, mouths open. An apple that had rolled from a table seemed to freeze in midair, and the motion of the door swinging open was suddenly barely noticeable. "Cool, right?" She asked.
-
Sarah grinned. "I am, actually. A Bendalloy misting. Want me to show you?"

"It's not much of one," she replied. "I was out with an expedition on Scadrial, trying to expand our maps, when they saw this big storm coming. They turned back. I didn't. I kept going for a bit, and finally wriggled into this crack in a cliff to shelter. The next thing I knew, I was here."
-
Sarah shrugged. "I dunno. You seem pretty nice, and you have that cool fabrial. You'd probably be a good friend."

Here's a quick scene with Aln coming home.

Acacia Smedry walked into the office, whistling. Her interview with the Scholar's Guild woman had apparently gone uncommonly well. Truth be told, Acacia had not expected to get this job. The Guild person was probably desperate for employees to be hiring a Smedry to do desk work. She looked around the office critically. It seemed like a standard workplace, from what little experience she had with standard workplaces. Desks were scattered about, and a printing press clanged in the other room. She was pleasantly surprised to find that she had her own little room in the back, with a plaque on the door that read "Editor". She nodded, staring around the room, and set to work. The first thing she did was flip the "now hiring" sign in the window upside-down. A cliched move, it was true, but one that would really bother some people. Then she shoved a few desks so that their corners jutted into doorways, and switched all the chairs. Whoever had stocked this place hadn't bothered to get a matching set of furniture, so it wasn't hard to arrange all the chairs to be the wrong sizes for their respective desks. As a final touch, she pried off the "Editor" sign from her door and stuck it to the break room. There was more to be done, of course, but this would be a good start. She sat on a desk by the door and began to watch for the arrival of other employees. Sarah looked confused but called after her. "It's fine, really. I was hoping that we might be on the same excavation team or something."
-
Sarah jumped at the yell and stared, startled, as the girl turned back to her and introduced herself. "Um, hi" she said cautiously. "If you don't mind me asking, what brings you here?"
-
Sarah stared. "I'm sorry, did you say choked?" Before he could respond, though, the girl at their side piped up. Sarah turned a friendly smile on her. "Sarah Bridgewater. Nice to meet you. What's your name?"
-
She smiled hesitantly. "I guess we'll just figure it out together, huh? Hopefully they'll let me on the team. I used to do some exploring myself. It's actually how I ended up here." SHe paused, then added. "I think. To be perfectly honest, I don't know how I ended up here."
-
"So what do you think's down there?" she asked. "You said you're from some scholar guild. Have you figured anything out?"
-
She stuck out her hand. "Sarah Bridgewater. I got here a few weeks ago. The flyer looked interesting and I figured that I need a job."
-
Sarah looked over at him "Oh. Huh. Nice to meet you, Kendul. I guess I'm still getting used to all this magic stuff. Are you trying to get a job too?"
-
Sarah strolled over to the snack table and slipped an apple into her pocket. Then she grabbed a questionnaire and a pen. She jumped as, close by, a girl appeared out of thin air and began to fill a plate. Sarah followed her into the other room and sat down nearby. "Hey," she said, ignoring the girl's attempt to strike up conversation with another man. "I'm Sarah. If you don't mind me asking, how in the rusting world did you do that?" @Oduim's Chmapion

Sarah whistled as she walked, swinging her walking stick aimlessly. She pushed the door to the office open and stepped inside. "Hey," she said to the man in the uniform. "I'm here for the job interview?" She brandished a crumpled flyer. @ZincAboutIt

Hrathen is great. He's proof that you can love a character without rooting for them.

I'd say that Songbearer would probably be rather hesitant to take action at first, and would probably mostly abstain at this point. Still, I think that the library would appeal to what I've seen of his personality and intellect. Therefore, my vote is as follows. (On a side note, isn't it interesting that we have to vote on what we're going to vote?) Tax on colors: [X] Abstain Safety regulations on Dockworkers: [X] Abstain Build a library: [X] Aye
