  1. Jenny narrowed her eyes, now suspicious of the waiter. ”I’d like fries, please.” She didn’t trust them, but she was also really hungry. The food was worth the risk.
  2. “I’d like a burger, please.” Jenny scooted away from the waiter a bit. She wasn’t sure if mortals would be more vulnerable to her potential death-thing than demigods. @Weaver of Lies
  3. “You being here for me helps.” Jenny smiled a soft but genuine smile. She then grabbed a menu and looked it over, attempting to change the subject so neither of them would have to think about their current problems. ”I’m gonna get a burger. How about you?”
  4. “You can once this gets figured out. I don’t want to lose you before that happens, though. You need to stay safe from me.” She replaced her glove. This really, really stunk. She’d have to ask Jace about it some time soon. Unbeknownst to Jenny, her eyes were starting to look empty. Not in the glassy way they had been before, just lifeless.
  5. “You needed my help to walk, and it might just take a while for the effects to impact things.” She sighed. ”I don’t want it to be like this either. We can just pretend like I’m sick with something really contagious.” Jenny removed a glove and inspected her hand to see if there was anything weird about it. Her pale skin actually did look pretty sickly.
  6. Jenny very gently removed Ed’s arm and pushed him along the booth’s bench until he could lean against the wall. She then moved so that she was sitting across from him on the outside edge of the booth. ”I’m not sure if proximity to me is enough to hurt someone. I’d rather be safe than sorry.” She gave an apologetic, sad smile.

  8. Jenny nodded wordlessly. She didn’t deserve Ed. She was glad that he didn’t seem to care.
  9. Jenny cautiously hugged him back, a bit surprised. Ed probably should’ve been more careful around her. She really appreciated it, though. ”I love you.”
  10. Jenny let the blades tumble out of her hand and onto the ground. She replaced her glove and squeezed her eyes shut for a moment. Maybe everyone had been right. She only brought death. At the very least, she was probably making Ed feel awful. ”I’m so sorry.”
  11. Jenny removed a glove, reached down, and pulled up a fistful of grass. As soon as the blades were severed, they withered rapidly. She held her hand out for Ed to inspect the grass. ”Did I kill these too?” Something in her knew that she had.
  12. “You don’t need to apologize. This is my fault, not yours.” Jenny tilted Ed’s face back up. At leave her gloves let her still interact with him somewhat safely. ”Ok?”
