  1. Jenny had curled up into a ball, absolutely panicking. Caught off guard by the sudden drop, her scream had joined that of the gawkers below. She hadn’t considered the fact that they would fall from so high up. It was just as terrifying as she’d imagined. At least they were underground, now. That was her preferred terrain.
  2. The jacket didn’t seem to help at all, but Jenny didn’t mention that to Ed. “There has to be some way, but I have no idea what it would be. Maybe we can ask Jace about it later.” She looked up at Ed, and her eyes oddly seemed to be full of regret.
  3. “I don’t think so. Just let me know if I start to act dead or something, I guess.” She lowered her voice. ”The voice isn’t gone. It still speaks to me sometimes. Maybe it’s dead, in a way. But that would make it more than just a voice, since it’d have to somehow be physically present…” Jenny shivered, both at that thought and from the cold. Being dead was somehow starting to feel like the best case scenario.
  4. “I think maybe the possession did something to me. I don’t remember all of it, though.” Jenny appreciated Ed’s warmth greatly. She snuggled closer. ”Nothing feels wrong apart from a headache and being really tired. That stuff’s not out of the ordinary, though.” It felt like something was being taken from her, but that didn’t feel important enough to say out loud.
  5. Jenny felt cold to the touch. She was glad that Ed didn’t seem to be panicking; he had enough to deal with already. She was certainly panicking, however. Whatever was going on, it went against everything she stood for as a child of Hades. Had she accidentally messed with her necromancy too much? Maybe the possession had done something to her. She’d been so careful. This couldn’t be her fault.
  6. Jenny nodded. ”I appreciate that. This is not something that’s supposed to happen.” She looked paler than usual. It was unclear if that was from her fear or some other reason. She hugged Timothy to her chest, feeling cold.
  7. Jenny uncurled her fingers around the gem, revealing its glow. She held it up to her head, then moved it away, demonstrating how she had discovered that she was the source of the glow. ”There a ten percent chance I’m dead and ninety percent chance something incredibly strange in going on with me.”
  8. “Thank you.” Jenny kept Timothy in her lap, not wanting to put him in his spot just yet. She hesitated for a moment, then pulled out her gem. ”I, um, need to tell you something. Please don’t freak out.” (I got ninja’d like three times y’all, ignore this until it fits the timeline)
  9. Jenny waved cheerfully. Best to treat the girl kindly in case she wasn’t a monster. Jenny knew what it was like to be accused of being a monster.
  10. Jenny gasped softly in amazement. She gently patted Timothy on the head. ”This is one of the best things I’ve ever seen.” She said this with complete sincerity. It was unfortunate that the dog couldn’t look like this forever, but she was more than happy with his cruder form.
  11. Jenny handed Timothy to Ed, a bit reluctant to give him up. He could be trusted, though, having made the toy in the first place. ”His name is Timothy. And thanks for making him!”
  12. “Oh.” She hadn’t considered that. She eyed the girl, now incredibly suspicious of her. Best to keep a close eye on her for now, however. If she did happen to be a monster, it would be better to know where she was so she couldn’t ambush them. Jenny moved slightly so that she was blocking Ed from the girl with her body a bit more.
  13. “I tried to tap her with Sword, and it didn’t pass through her. I think she might be your sister, actually! She’s crazy good at wood carving, like you are.” Jenny carefully picked Ed up and brought him over to the plant ball. She set him down on a bench, then sat next to him. She wrapped an arm around him so she could subtly help support him with sitting up without embarrassing him.
  14. “She’s a demigod that Lucid apparently made friends with.” Jenny offered her arm for Ed to lean on, then glanced over at the girl. ”Ah, shoot. I forgot to ask Lucid what her name was.” She looked back to Ed and noticed that his legs were shaking. She whispered to him. ”Do you want me to carry you over to the plant ball thing?”
  15. Jenny tried to gently shake the girl awake, then immediately retreated towards Ed. She offered him her hand to help him stand up. @Anguished_One @Weaver of Lies Noticing the spot for the dog, Jenny grinned and readied Timothy for the trip. He had very quickly become one of her most prized possessions.
  16. “Hmm.” Jenny looked at the girl for a moment. ”Do you want to wake her up and explain the situation to her? She seemed to be friendly with you. She might be more receptive to listening to you than a stranger like me.” Jenny put her hair back up into a messy bun in an attempt to look less creepy.
  17. Jenny, of course, didn’t notice this. It didn’t help that her mind still dwelled on the glowing gem she carried. She probably wasn’t dead. She couldn’t be dead. Right? ”Should we take her with us? I don’t think leaving her in the arch alone is safe, at least.”
  18. Jenny nodded, shoved her ruby in her bag, then tiptoed her way over to the sleeping girl. She carefully raised Sword and gently tapped the flat of the blade on her arm, trying to not wake her up. The blade didn’t pass through her, making contact. So the girl was actually a demigod. Lucid’s instincts were better than she’d thought. @Anguished_One
  19. I’ve got some soul food. Anyone want chicken and waffles?
  20. Jenny went to put Timothy in her bag, but then noticed a red light inside it. She pulled out her ruby, which was shining quite brightly. This was from more than the death of an animal. She glanced around; everyone seemed to be alive. She held it aloft and walked in a small circle, trying to locate the source, but its brightness never changed. She put it next to her face, then moved it away. The ruby dimmed as it left her proximity. How long had it been glowing?
  21. Jenny’s eyes sparkled with excitement and wonder. ”Timothy.” ”Well, there’s a foolproof way to test if someone is a demigod.” Jenny unsheathed Sword, still clutching Timothy in one hand. ”I can try to tap her with the flat edge of Sword and see if it goes through her or not. It might freak her out, though, and it’ll blow our cover if she’s just a regular mortal.”
  22. Jenny wound it up again to see what would happen, still holding it. “Yep.” Jenny wanted to continue her conversation with Lucid, but they really did need to go. She glanced at the girl, wondering what to do about her. @Wierdo
