  1. Jenny nodded and immediately grabbed her vial of the blood. Uncorking it, she tried to pour it in Terrance’s mouth. Jenny pulled Elsie away from Terrance to get her out of the way. She was a bit rough about it since she needed to move quickly. She felt bad, but didn’t have the time for anything else. @The Aspiring Archivist
  2. Jenny, still struggling to breathe, held up a thumbs up. She looked upwards, seeing something both reassuring and terrifying. The crunching sound hadn’t come from any of her bones; it had come from the window cracking. She’d deal with that fear later. Jenny stumbled to her feet and went to Terrance, holding out the last of her ambrosia. He seemed to be in very bad shape. ”Please eat this.” Her voice was still pretty wheezy. @The Aspiring Archivist @Random Bystander
  3. Jenny tried to dodge the claw, but her worry at seeing the head bite at Elsie distracted her. She moved the wrong direction. Fortunately, it prevented her from being stabbed with the claw, but the monster’s wrist still made contact. It hit her with a surprising amount of force and she was thrown backwards. As she sailed through the air, Jenny threw Sword, aiming at the chimera’s eye. She then slammed into the window, hearing a sickening crunching sound. Sinking to the ground, she wheezed, trying to regain her breath after having the wind knocked out of her.
  4. Quit trying to bribe me with food! I’d go with the second option.
  5. Jenny’s relief at seeing Elsie was incredibly short-lived. Something was wrong with Terrance, Ed had gotten bit again, and Elsie was swinging at the chimera with a baseball bat. Ed and Terrance seemed to be out of harm’s way, so the chimera was the most urgent threat. They needed it dead, and soon. She ran at the monster and went for whichever head was attacking Elsie. She waited for it to strike, holding Sword rather low down. Jenny needed it to come to her.
  6. That was probably Elsie. Jenny glanced behind her, relieved. Her relief vanished slightly as she still didn’t see Elsie. Was she invisible or something? ”Elsie?” Distracted looking back to where she thought Elsie might be, she didn’t notice the serpent striking at her until she heard the snap of jaws displace the air over her right shoulder. That had been close. It had missed, for some reason. She turned back and saw Harold pointing his bow at the thing. He’d probably thrown the snake off for her. ”Thanks Harold!” Jenny readjusted her grip on Sword and stood ready, waiting for a reply from Elsie.
  7. I’ve always seen it as geek = obsessed with stuff like Star Trek and D&D, nerd = into academic stuff. I’m not sure how accurate that is. TPBM goes down the Wikipedia rabbit hole frequently.
  8. Jenny jumped backwards, the tail whipping under her feet and the jaws narrowly missing her head. She was grateful that she was at full strength again. She looked over to Ed and saw a nasty wound on his leg. She moved to protect him, but then realized that she had no idea where Elsie was. ”Elsie?! Where are you?!” She raised Sword, waiting for another opportunity to attack as she frantically glanced around. She couldn’t let her guard down and needed to remain in the fight, but she was incredibly worried about the girl. @Random Bystander
  9. Jenny shot up when Ed spoke, immediately opening her eyes. For a moment, she froze. The massive window was right across from her and she saw how incredibly high up they were. It was horrifying, scaring her more than even the chimera attacking them. Ed’s scream brought her back to reality. She shook off her fear and growled at the beast in anger. It had scratched Terrance. It was making Elsie cry. It had hurt Ed. Jenny threw herself at the monster as the shadows coalesced around her, drawing Sword as she leapt. She aimed for whatever part of the chimera was closest, slashing almost blindly as she tried to keep the window out of her vision.
  10. What's the meaning of this interruption. Jarl Balgruuf is not receiving visitors.
  11. My lord. Please. This is no time for rash action. I just think we need more information before we act.
  12. Fine, but we'll be keeping an eye on you.
  13. “I love you too.” Instead of trying to ignore her surroundings, Jenny decided to accept them. She didn’t open her eyes, but she acknowledged that she was very high up. She also acknowledged that she was with Ed and most of her friends. Once she stopped putting effort into actively ignoring everything, she was finally able to fully relax. She leaned back against Ed.
  14. Jenny relaxed slightly. She was ok. She was safe. He wouldn’t let her fall, and nothing up here was going to hurt her. Everything was fine. She was starting to actually believe that. Being there with Ed canceled out a lot of the bad stuff.
  15. Jenny sat stiff as a board, feet firmly planted on the ground. She still felt like a strong gust of wind could blow her over, though. She was glad that Ed was there with her. He’d hold onto her. He wouldn’t let the wind blow her away. He’s done a good job of that so far, and she trusted that he always would.
  16. The baby bird had ducked its head below the side of the nest and out of sight, presumably to go to sleep, so Jenny shut her eyes again. She slowly started backing up, going in the general direction of where they’d been sitting. Without the chick to distract her, she had quickly become overwhelmed. Her fear of heights didn’t seem to be easing up yet.
  17. The mama bird proceeded to feed her baby its lunch. It was gross. Jenny loved it. She swore she could hear the chick chirping happily, although the glass was too thick to actually hear anything. She pressed an ear up against the glass to see if that would help. All it did was remind her how high up they were and make her dizzy again.
  18. “Hopefully it doesn’t get shoved out of the nest too soon.” Jenny was already very attached to Jarnathan. He didn’t seem to notice the two people staring at him, or maybe he just didn’t care. A bird as adorable as he was probably got a lot of admirers. A shadow passed over the nest. ”Oh, there’s his mom!”
  19. “It looks like a Jarnathan.” Jenny inched slightly closer. ”I wonder if he can fly yet.” Was it scary for a chick to be so up high without knowing how to fly if it fell? Perhaps it didn’t realize how high up it was yet. That nest could still be its entire world. There wasn’t much to worry about in there. Sometimes Jenny wished her world was that small too.
  20. Jenny blushed again, briefly forgetting what was going on. After regaining her senses, she very slowly opened her eyes, trying to focus all of her attention on the nest. She was successful. The baby bird was really, really cute. She stumbled over towards the nest, legs still shaking, and plopped down next to the window. Jenny would’ve pressed her face up against the glass if it weren’t for her extreme terror at the thought. Seeing the chick made the fear well worth it.
  21. Shoot. Why had she asked that? She should’ve known she would be tempted to look. The urge to open her eyes was even stronger, now. She had to see that baby bird, even if it meant risking going into a panic. Maybe she could minimize the potential for terror. ”May you please point my face in its direction?”
  22. “Nope!” Jenny’s voice was squeaky. Her normally high-pitched tone had become almost piercing. ”Please tell me if you see any cool birds or something, though.” She wouldn’t be able to look at them, but she really liked birds. They were far braver than she was. Even just knowing they were there would make her happy.
  23. Jenny smiled, blushing a little. Ed said it was pretty. Maybe that would keep it from being scary. She slowly cracked open one eye. He was right. It was beautiful. She could see the city stretched out below, tiny people driving toy cars amongst towering structures of steel. It was also extremely terrifying. Jenny immediately shut her eye again, her legs somehow shaking even though she was sitting down.
