The Longest Thread (Misadventures)

Astral eyed AC dangerously. She rolled her eyes and melted to sludge, her torso falling into the middle of her dress. The skirt of her gown folded in on itself and she snaked around AC's legs, slowly climbing upward....- 111834 replies

People you wouldn't want to meet in a dark alley
Zephrun’s Imperium replied to Voidus's topic in The Alleyverse
Sierra tightened her jaw. "I don't have a life," she said, "because I don't have anything to live for. But if I find that..." Her shoulders drooped and some of the determination in her eyes melted away. "Then it'll be a miracle." She scoffed at her own words. She was beginning to come back to herself. "I don't want to be here. I... don't know what I want. But I do know that I don't like being picked apart and analyzed. Connections hurt you... And I don't get hurt." @Snipexe @ZincAboutIt -
People you wouldn't want to meet in a dark alley
Zephrun’s Imperium replied to Voidus's topic in The Alleyverse
A single tear escaped Sierra's eye, but she didn't feel it at all. Her already pallid face whitened further and she took another long, slow sip of coffee, trying to warm herself from his chilling words. She did want to deny it. She wanted to hide behind the collar of her coat, wanted to run away, to go back and prove to herself that Theresa wasn't dead. That she hadn't just murdered the one person who was ever kind to her and that she hadn't let her emotions get in the way of her three truths; she deserved everything that happened to her, Theresa was better than her (that's why she had been successful, after all, while Sierra had withered away), and there was nothing Sierra could do to change those things. She tried to move her fingers toward the handle of her whip, but found that her fingers were still numb and wet with her sister's blood. She couldn't deny it. And she hated that with all her heart. Sierra looked down at her skates. "How do you know those things?" she asked, a dangerous, yet broken tone in her voice. Her own vulnerability scared her. This wasn't her! Where was her ability to shove the emotions away? Why couldn't she find her resilience? @Snipexe @ZincAboutIt -
Inktober 2019 (AKA CBST Nostalgia Art)
Zephrun’s Imperium replied to Zephrun’s Imperium's topic in Creator's Corner
Guys. I did it. I finished Inktober. I'm not sure how to feel about this, honestly. I've put a lot of love into each of these and it's so amazing to see how much I've progressed from doing this challenge. I'm so glad my friend convinced me to do it, this has been really gratifying work - even if it did take me about an hour for each one. I think what's really crazy to think about is that I had never used ink as a medium before 30 days ago. Anyway, thanks for being excited to see these. Without the Shard, these drawings wouldn't exist and I probably wouldn't have done Inktober in the first place. I love all of you so much!!! Okay, the last prompt is "Ripe." I had no idea what to do for this prompt until I looked up the word's definition - completely matured, fully grown or developed, or of mature judgement or knowledge. Most of my characters - Star, Ember, Sophie, Astral - aren't really at that stage yet. They have a long way to go. I do have a character, however, who's been through more than any of them combined, albeit not all of it is written (yet). And that is Tamika. I typically draw Tami in one of three ways; pre-Ascension, current Fallen timeline, or during her time as a Shard. This time, however, I drew her a fourth way. Post-Fallen timeline. Her story is over. She has suffered through over 3,000 years of life and finally arrived at her happy ending, whatever that might look like for her. Star may have been alive for almost 400 pages now, but she's only been around for about 17 or 18* Narrator years, making her about 30** in human terms. And, yes, Star has certainly been through unspeakable things, but it just doesn't compare to my precious Tamika Satrebil. And now, without further ado, I present my final Inktober drawing! *I'm taking the 17 or 18 from Granite's age - I imagine him to be 15 or 16. **I got the 30 by adding TVG's original human age - 13 - to that number I would not recommend calculating Narrator ages for reasons such as the following - Narrator Xino is just a little bit younger than Star - make him 28 or so - and Sophie is only about 16. Makes that crush a lot more awkward. Also consider the fact that Pheo came after Star's years with Marsh... making Pheo about 20.... There's issues here, my friends. I'd love to discuss it further though!!! -

Happy Halloween, everyone! I actually finished this last night, but I couldn't get a good picture then and mornings are always hectic for me, so I'm finally posting it now. The prompt for this drawing was "Catch" and I could think of nothing better than Michael catching Xino's shot. I drew his shoulders too wide and did his legs too thin so sorry about that. Otherwise, I think it's pretty decent. -

The Longest Thread (Misadventures)
Zephrun’s Imperium replied to ElephantEarwax's topic in Forum Games & Random Stuff
Astral sat on her knees after TVG left, the massive, black skirt of her gown flowing out around her. She was angry. Well, frustrated was a better word for it. She wanted misery. She wanted suffering. The TLTians seemed good enough at doing that on their own in a general sense, but there was no motivation, no true sorrow. She waved in the air with both hands, two images popping up before her. One was of Jay and the other was of SoT. Little Sophie had herself wrapped in a forcefield, but Astral could tell that she was crying. Sorrow radiated from her. It radiated from Jay too. That one was broken by her actions. Echoes of life fluttered within her. She was hungry. This place wasn't enough. She needed the real stuff, not the off brand. She needed plot. Hopes to crush, hearts to break, love to destroy. She needed a goal. A reason. She needed Star and her so-called lover. Crush one and raise the other... The whole thing sounded like some sort of twisted prophecy. One she would gladly fulfill. She exclaimed in anger, squeezing her hands into fists. She had to leave this terrible place.- 111834 replies

plot The Cosmic Battle to Save the Thread
Zephrun’s Imperium replied to BringerofShadows's topic in Roleplaying
Star's eyes widened and her mouth dropped. Her eyes narrowed, but she furrowed her brow. Overall, her look was one of horrified disbelief. "W-what? H-how..." All the happy, bright energy within her faded, replaced by the oh-so familiar feeling of dread and hopelessness. "Pheo, you're kidding. You have to be... kidding me." Her eyes pleaded with him. -

People you wouldn't want to meet in a dark alley
Zephrun’s Imperium replied to Voidus's topic in The Alleyverse
Sierra took the coffee. The cup felt comfortably warm in her bony fingers. She wetted her lips with her tongue and took a small sip, the warm liquid racing down her system. It pushed away her chills, calmed her. Her shoulders relaxed as some of her apprehension melted away. She quickly took another sip. And another. Then, she turned her eyes upward, at the two strangers who were with her, suddenly realizing that she wouldn't know where to run to if something happened. Her stomach rumbled and she took another sip, staying silent. -

A bright, purple figure coalesced in the air. Her facial features were so crudely defined that her eyes, lips, and nose could hardly be seen. She hovered above the ground, one foot behind the other and raised a motherly eyebrow. Narrator Astral, she said. The Queen of Shadows. What do you have to say for yourself? The massive wave of darkness bleeding from Astral's form was sucked back into her and she paled, her hair falling still and settling to rest against her back. She slowly sunk to her knees and bowed her head. The motion of her legs was hidden by her long, silky gown, making the transition from standing to kneeling look unnaturally smooth. "TVG," she said, embarrassment in her voice. She stayed silent. I know you don't like being trapped here - I don't like it either - but you must let the randomness cultivate. "But my soul, your Majesty. I need sorrow so I can have sustenance to-" You will have plenty of sorrow to feed upon once you find your way to CBST. Plenty of it. You can fast a little longer. You spent 300 pages without before, did you not? "Yes..." Astral muttered tightly. I know you are a creature of plot - as is fitting for one of my daughters - but I must ask you to be patient. Find something to keep your attention. The withergeists, perhaps? Astral growled. "I want to kill Pheonix." If TVG had had visible eyes, she would have rolled them. I know, Astral. You'll get your chance to do whatever horrible acts your rotting heart desires. But. Not. Now. I am a slave to Fate at times. But when you arrive... I will be freed. I can't have you ruining yourself. You must simply wait. Astral tried her hardest not to snap at her master. She set her jaw. "I will... try... Your Majesty."- 111834 replies

... of Fate, whose characters always got into plot no matter who they were. Sometimes, TVG wished that Sophie would open her eyes and see that plot wasn't so bad after all. But she did understand why her daughter was so averse to it.- 111834 replies

People you wouldn't want to meet in a dark alley
Zephrun’s Imperium replied to Voidus's topic in The Alleyverse
Sierra was surprised. Another hallucination? She was beginning to doubt that she was actually insane. But... if she wasn't crazy then... These were real people. One covered in blood and babbling about baked goods, the other... Well, who knew what he was like. Sierra paled. These people were certifiably insane! What was she doing? She felt her breath shorten, but then her eyes fell on the coffee machine. Food. Her mouth began to water. She hadn't eaten since yesterday afternoon. And later that evening, she'd thrown it all up. Her stomach rumbled and she curled her fingers around one arm. Maybe these people were insane... But Vivica had been kind to her. That wasn't something that just happened. The question again - Why me? - rolled around in her head as she eyed Grey with her quiet, hard, amber eyes. She said nothing. -

Okay, guys, sorry, I'm late... A day behind. I missed a week of school last week, so I'm struggling to catch up and my art is getting really abused because of this. You should be glad; that means I'm actually spending time and giving you quality artwork. Because I love my craft. Yesterday's prompt was "Ride" and I couldn't think of anything but a handerfle; they ride Tom's ship of course, and in Fallen, they give AJ and Thought a ride to that ship. And what better handerfle to do than Ralvon himself? What a fascinating charcater... I used a new technique on the wings, I think it paid off, wouldn't ya say? -

People you wouldn't want to meet in a dark alley
Zephrun’s Imperium replied to Voidus's topic in The Alleyverse
Sierra stayed quiet. She hadn't actually decided what she was going to do after Theresa was killed. She'd thought.... Well, that was the problem, wasn't it? She hadn't thought at all. She'd rushed into things, like she always did. Like she was probably doing now. Her anxiety and indecision was clouding her already untrustworthy judgement skills. Sometimes, she was able to convince herself that she was only doing what anyone else would do in her precarious situation, but there was always that little voice in the back of her mind, the one she'd decided not to listen to anymore. It said, "You know better, Sierra. And you've always known better."
