  1. Sophie sat on a rock, contemplating her existence. She was using a crazy amount of energy on a forcefield around her, but it was worth it to avoid those withergeists. Her bite earlier had left her feeling cold. Very cold. She wasn’t sure if that was a direct after effect of being bitten or if her body was in shock or if she was sick or something. Author above, what did she do wrong? She hated plot. Hated it more than anything in the world. Why did she always get so wrapped up in it? There wasn’t any end to this. She couldn’t escape. It was a never-ending circle - last long enough and she’d end up like her eldest sister. But she was no hero or warrior. Instead of turning into a villain, she’d just… waste away and be torn apart by the plot. How did Xino stand it? Xino. Shards, she hadn’t seen him in a long time. She hoped he was okay. He’d always turned up before and he was as old as Star was, so hopefully he knew what he was doing, but… These withergeists were dangerous. She’d almost died because of them. Almost… died. Sophie sniffed. Looking back on it, she’d been through… a lot. She wasn’t the innocent little girl she once had been. TLT wasn’t near as innocent as it seemed, even compared to CBST. Here, anything could happen. There, at least things were coherent. From what she had read and felt and been told, it was peaceful there right now. Star was happy. It sounded like an impossibility, but… It was true. Someone was happy in the midst of plot and pain. She supposed, as she thought about it, one could get used to something like this eventually. Learn to deal with it. Even love it, the way Xino did. Could that ever be her? She didn’t think so.
  2. For "Treasure" I've done something that hasn't happened yet, but has been hinted at. It's now a circlet instead of a tiara, but I think it'll fit her well. Let's be rid of that old black iron crown for good, eh? She's well past that. Or is she....? All foreshadowing aside, I think I did a really nice job of this. And I really like her wardrobe change, the little dress is cute.
  3. Sorry I'm so late, guys, I had a lot of trouble figuring out what I'd do for "Tread" and I'm kinda sick and miserable today, so I'm just proud of getting done with it. Originally, I was going to draw Tamika dancing, but then I started and.... It was really hard. I spent a lot of time trying to figure out something that'd work and I decided to to Butt Venture because I don't really have a set character profile for him and he DEFINITELY tread on poor little Shadow. (page 621 of TLT) He's so cute, but Shards he can be a real jerk. I miss 'im though. Here's to hoping we can bridge the universes soon!
  4. Hey, we're on page two now, how cool!! I honestly had no idea what do to for "Sling" at first, but then I did some research and discovered that a sling is actually an alcoholic drink. Who knew! It's not wine, but.... I think I can make the stretch. I think I captured the tension of this moment with the look on Shadow's face. She's just done. As always with my drawings, don't look too closely at the hands. At least, not the right one.

    Child of Ruin

From the album: The Longest Thread (Misadventures)

Last night, I got a super cool idea for a drawing. It didn't turn out as awesome as I wanted it to, but I did do this from 11:00-11:30 last night so... I think its quality is pretty good for that time. I was going to ink it, but I missed my old medium and I'm lazy so I didn't. Anyway, poor Heather. I draw her more than any other character, I think. She's easy to draw. And she's one of my very favorite characters. @BringerofShadows I think you'll like this.
  6. For today's prompt "Misfit" who could be better than Sophie?
  7. Astral was tempted to wait for the CBSTians to open a bridge themselves, but she was sick of sitting here and doing nothing. Star was in trouble, her soul being shredded in the most vile way possible. And it was Astral's job to save her. There was no time to lose. Not anymore.
  8. So someone threw a boulder at the bunker instead. The bunker collapsed.
  9. Secretly indeed. The withergeists could not come with her.
  10. Astral hissed. She needed to get out of here. Quickly.
  11. The necro is strong with this one...
  12. Astral decided to try scrying. She was bored. And that was a dangerous thing, especially coupled with her annoyance at Sophie's survival. It wasn't worth sending another withergeist after her anymore. She was just... bored. And so, scrying was the way to go. Hopefully, her Connection to Star was still strong enough that if she focused hard enough, she could get a signal or something... At this point, she was desperate for anything. She squeezed her eyes shut, focusing a beam of her mental energy toward her counterpart. It would have to break the barriers of threads and of reality, but they should be similar enough, close enough, to link up. And link up they did. But... Wait a second. What...? What in the world?! Astral pulled away quickly, eyes wide with shock and horror. What had she just witnessed? She didn't want to believe it, but she had felt it in her mind and on her blacked lips, through the pink, prim and perfect lips of Star. Narrator Pheonix. Astral wrinkled her nose in disgust. Star had kissed him. Actually kissed him. Kissed him like she loved him. Black smoke rolled off of her form, writhing unnaturally as she growled with deep anger and hatred for that pale little boy who had replaced the one who was supposed to be Star’s one and only. Pheonix… Even his very name made her skin crawl! It was absolutely repulsive. How could she think to touch him - think to let him touch her, for their Author's sake! - after everything that had happened? She felt sick. What had happened in her absence? How long had this been going on? When had she met that creature of filthy light and learned to hold him so fondly? And when did she teach herself to pretend she was happy while Marsh was still dead? She coughed, the happiness and joy making her allergies flare up. She'd kill him. She'd kill that unworthy little boy and use his blood to... Unless.... She could get Star to do it. An evil smile spread across her face as a new part was added to her plan. She'd have to wait a little longer, but if all went as planned... Well. Little Pheo would live his own nightmare. And he wouldn't wake up.
  13. Star sprinted down the hallway, golden hair streaming backward as she ran. She was following a mental signature and it was getting closer. Joyous, bubbly energy surged through her, making her feel almost numb. She felt like she was about to burst. Like she could float away and fly off. Finally, rounding a corner, she found the one she was looking for. If she had been happy a second before, it couldn't even compare to the elation she felt now. Star tackled Pheonix in a massive hug and kissed him. It only lasted for a small moment, but when she pulled away, she had a huge grin on her face. Her eyes twinkled and she looked happier than she had ever looked in her entire life. She felt happier than she had been in her entire life. “I love you!” she said. Then she giggled, the sound echoing like tiny bells. “I love you, Pheonix, I love you!” She buried her head in his chest and laughed some more, laughed so hard that she started to cry. After everything she had been through, every torture and torment, this seemed a fitting recompense. Being happy was… very strange, honestly. She didn’t feel heavy anymore. Despite the fact that reality was literally torn in two, things seemed… okay. Could that really be true? Who could say this wasn’t a dream? That she wasn’t still sleeping? That she had never fallen asleep in the first place and it was all just… meaningless. Nonexistent, even. She gripped Pheo’s shirt, as if to prove to herself that he was truly real. Besides, with her track record, it wouldn’t be long before he was swallowed up from the plot and killed, taken away from her. That sobering thought in her mind, she whispered it one more time, more solemnly. “I love you.”
  14. Today's is simple, but it's pretty nostalgic, at least for me. For the prompt "Ornament" I give you Thought with her amethyst necklace. Oh, if only things were still that simple. But ignorance is truly bliss, isn't it Tamika? All depressing things aside, this is without a doubt the best depiction of Tamika I have ever done. She's gorgeous. That's the point. It's no wonder she has not one, not two, but three men after her. I'm proud to call her my character.
  15. I feel bad, 'cause I wrote the original post because I twisted my ankle, and it was meant to be a moment of growth for Sophie and then she got more traumatized than she already is...
  16. While the last drawing shows her in her shining majesty, this one shows Star in a more... raw light. Today's prompt is "Wild" which immediately reminded me of this scene from CBST. While it was only a possibility, it was a very real one for Star when she tried to take over TLT. In her mind, a cage was where she was headed and a cage was what she deserved. Thanks to Pheo for showing the poor girl the truth.
  17. Sophie clawed at the grass in her agony. "Make it stop!" she tried to yell, but her voice came out slurred, as a cry of anguish.
  18. As Sophie calmed down - breathing hard and crying in pain, but no longer screaming - blue mist rose from her body, weaving around the wound. It glowed faintly and rebelled against the black, fighting it off.
  19. She can do that herself actually... She's Ember's opposite... Sophie screamed a deafeningly loud and shrill scream. She'd hardly experienced any pain in her life and this... This was too much.
  20. Sophie jerked, her eyes fluttering rapidly. She whimpered, beads of sweat coalescing on her blue brow. The withergeist.... melted. It returned to Astral.
