  1. For the future memes Amara sobs on Mutig. Mutig comforts her. background music @Sorana
  2. Mutig calmly pushed the bag back to her, "I saved you? All I did was kill a man after he jumped from a tower, it was Algorath and Chadwick who saved you. I merely finished the fight." His eyes glanced around, and he saw one of the youths moving and talking to the newest vendors, showing a small symbol that looked important. The vendor nodded and went two young lads running out to the next vendor along the route he had run. Soon everyone acted as if nothing happened, and he smiled, "on the plus side, I didn't have to throw them like rag dolls as I have had to do to some youths from Brat." He patted her reassuringly, knowing she needed someone to lean on that moment. @Sorana
  3. Amara had gotten to the youths first, and one made a remark, "watch them hips girl!" They all laughed ... Until they heard Mutig growl right next to them. They froze, and slowly looked up at his face, all mirth was gone. He spoke in a growl that sounded almost playful, making it almost worst than the growl. "I don't think I heard you right, care to repeat it for me?" None of them spoke. "Tell me," Mutig continued, "if I where to parade you around this city, roaring 'here are my toys!', How would you feel?" Their eyes went down, and finally one of them, the one who made the comment, spoke. "I am sor–" he began but Mutig cut him off. "It NOT me you should say sorry to, or beg mercy of. The only I don't do what I have said is because it would be a waste of my time." The man snapped angrily, "but she is a who–" Mutig stopped him with him with a look of anger in his eyes, and the man rephrased. "But she is a girl, why should I have to say anything to her?" Mutig looked him up and down, then spoke, "your father in the guard, correct? As well as yours, yours, and yours as well." He nodded to each in turn, and was rewarded with stunned faces, to which he continued, "tell, do you think your father's would be proud of you right now? To know that for all their efforts to raise you and guide you, oh turned into slum dwellers the moment they turned their backs?" As he spoke, he watched their shoulders slump further and further. The speaker looked at Amara, knelt down and bowed his head in respect. "Forgive me, I have disgraced not only myself, but also my family and friends. No amount of sorrys can make up for attack have dine today, please take this as a token of my apologies. " he placed a pouch of silver at Amara's feet, stood and walked away. The others followed in suit, until it was only Amara and Mutig. Mutig awkwardly knelt as well, and dropped the bag of census money he had been given, "and I have more apologies than all of them put together. I had known it was wrong to do what I did, but I allowed speed to overrule respect, I took advantage of you when you where too weak to fight back, for which I will never be able to repay you. Since we met, you have shown me nothing but kindness and compassion, and this is how I repay you? Disgracing you by taking you as if you where an object to be moved? " Mutig felt sorry for all he had done, realizing how much of pain he had been. He, the guardian of Brat, was no better than the people who had taken Tiana. Perhaps what they had said was true, he was no guardian, just an animal that had been overqualified for what he did. @Sorana
  4. Mutig smiled riley, "I am too big for that door," he turned back towards the youths, "I won't hurt them, I will just... Talk." With that he began heading their way, putting on a face that would have had even the sincerest liars from brat fooled. @Sorana
  5. Mutig was about to respond in anger, when he stopped and thought, his mind straining with what his former guardian had taught him. He felt angry more at himself now, he had done something Tiana had constantly told him was not right, although quicker. While Amara yelled at him, he caught the sound of snickering. He turned and saw a group of young adults who had stayed and had seen it all happen. One threw him a thumbs up, and the others laughed openly. "Head inside," he told Amara and Chadwick, "I will be around the back soon." His voice was even, almost forced, but other than that he seemed unfazed. @Sorana @Turtle373
  6. Mutig bounced to one side, keeping his speed and running on until he reached the tavern. H He set Amara down and caught her glare. "If it makes you feel better, " he said through breathes, "You don't taste good. A bear wouldn't see as you told until it had no other options." @Sorana "I do believe we where going here first, than going just out of the city." he said looking down at Chadwick, "either way I am need of a good washing." He could still feel the blood in his fur. @Turtle373
  7. Mutig looked around, then said as casually as possible, "hold onto that bag." With that, he reached down and picked her up in his mouth. It was a method his was used to doing, one he had used mostly for runaway animals or carrying the injured. Once he had a firm grip on Amara, he bounded off again, keeping his head down so as to keep her from getting dizzy. @Sorana @Turtle373 @Vargo Seldon
  8. Mutig ran for all his worth, every muscle and vein pulsing with energy. Before he knew it, he stood at the taverns door. The crowd's had fled ahead of him, rumors that had said he would kill them had driven the streets empty. He gingerly set the boy down, and raced back down the road. He got to the group and saw Amara slowing down, almost tripping over herself now. He ran next to her, keeping pace and contemplating how far she would go before letting him help. Finally, he spoke between strides. "You don't need to be on my back to travel at my speed, you know?" The moment he said it, he felt ridiculous. He was practically suggesting carrying her like a cub. @Sorana @Turtle373 @Vargo Seldon
  9. Karl studied the sayer, then realized with a start what had seemed wrong. The sayer was tainted by the shadow, not ok badly, but just enough. He's swiftly disappeared in the morning crowed, making his way through the city. He knew he had to do what the shadow had ordered, but at the same time he knew he shouldn't help this creature anymore. As he walked, he saw a tavern named the Moon Tavern, and went in. He bought a room on the second floor, and sat next to the window, watching the outside pavilion. Mutig moved as fast as he could while keeping the others close behind him. He burst out of the Fens, and immediately realized what he had done wrong. The people who had been walking and exchanging wears now looked and saw him, and backed away abruptly, some began to yell in alarm. He's caught sight of a man pulling up a powerful looking crossbow, aiming towards him. He pushed forward, cursing himself while the crowd saw his blood stained fur, the gash in his side, and the glint of predator in his eyes which made the crowd part for him and the others @Sorana @Turtle373 @Vargo Seldon
  10. how to find Sanderson fans in three steps: #1, walk into a crowd. #2, yell as loud as you can: MOASH IS THE GOOD GUY! #3, step out of the crowd and watch the chaos unleash.
  11. Mutig shrugged. if she starts slagging, Algorath will probably just pick her up. He thought. He set the boy down and spoke, "I'll take him directly to the tavern, and see to it his save, that's until you guys catch up. Unless , of course, our dear healer can ran fast..." With that, he picked the boy up again and began heading out of the Fens, keeping his eyes on every shadow. @Sorana @Turtle373 @Vargo Seldon
  12. Mutig looked at the boy, and gingerly picked him up in his mouth. Holding him securely, he nodded to Chadwick, then looked at the others, waiting for them to get ready. @Sorana @Turtle373 @Vargo Seldon
  13. Mutig looked up from his feast, and recognized three figures. His mind began returning, the glow of red leaving his eyes. He could tell his fur was still coated in blood, but he began moving forward. He had heard Amara mention a child, and spoke in his gruff and now partly cracked voice. "Bring him down, then climb on." @Sorana @Vargo Seldon @Turtle 373
  14. The man sprang away from his two new attackers, and actually jumped to the ground below. He howled in pain, but stood still, and began running, planning on sounding the alarm. But then a large shadow came forward, and he almost yelled in delight, but when he saw what it was that made the shadow, he began backing away. Mutig had run into the Fens, originally to escape this surge of strength. It was a dangerous weapon, as he could hurt anything and anyone who came in his path. But when he headed for the tower, he let it loose, the drive for justice, the drive for blood. He had killed every person he came across, and now carried a female corps, and and her friend had tried stopping him. He entered the clearing, and saw the man. Then he heard a scream from the tower, and he rushed forwards. The man swung his weapon as hard as he could, but not nearly hard enough. It glanced off Mutigs blood stained fur, and he caught the man with an upward slash. As the man hit the tower wall, Mutig lunged forward, pinning him to the wall, and tore into him. The man screamed, but Mutig didn't stop, not until the man's body was unrecognizable. Mutig dropped the corps, and released a blood gurgling roar, and descended on the corps, dragging it to the other he had brought, then he began to prepare to dig in, to feast. @Sorana @Turtle373 @Vargo Seldon
  15. The man grunted, and threw Chadwick to the side. He spun, grabbing the pole and shoving Amara down. He towered over her now, the pole raised as if he would beat her with it, his eyes burned with hatred. "He needs you alive, not whole!" And he began to bring the pole down, aiming for her legs, aiming to mane. @Sorana @Turtle373
  16. The man growled at the pain, but kept strangling his foe, knowing he only had to suffocate this dog to win. @Sorana @Turtle373
  17. The man strained, trying to get the creature to fight, but it would not move. In desperation, he roared, and rolled down the stairs, dragging Chadwick with him. At every step, he would throw all his strength into the dog, slamming him against the hard wood. When they hit the bottom, he was on top, choking the wolf, pinning him down. @Sorana @Turtle373
  18. The man jolted in surprise, he had been about to doze off again. His free hand went for Chadwicks neck, trying to force him off his arm. He staggered back, almost falling down the stairs. "Why you filthy mut!" He swore, his eyes full of rage. But the creature stayed quite, and that made the man tense. He began panicking, struggling desperately against the wolf that bore into his arm. @Sorana @Turtle373
  19. The creature watched as Algorath ran, puzzled. He had expected the impure to kill Karl, to try and take his hatred out on him, yet he seemingly melted when he saw Karl's face. Karl stood up, still gasping but ready to serve. The creature smiled, a new plan forming in his mind. "You have done well, my faithful host, for which you shall be blessed with a mission that could very well win us this kingdom." Karl knelt down when he was spoken to, an aspect he was growing tired of. "I will do what you so wish, my Lord." He said . "I think it is time we catch the kings attention," the creature said, "I wish for you to bring me his first born." Karl stiffened, and he thought he caught the briefest hint of confusion, "but my Lord, the first born is but a child, she is innocent." "Just as these children were innocent?" He said , indicating the dead that lay around them. "This is a tedious task I have given you, but I know you can do it. The question is, do YOU know you can do it?" Karl nodded, "it shall be done." The creature smiled, and with that, he took his two host's and left, leaving Karl with his task. Karl looked around, his head throbbed from the beating he got from the wolf man. He looked at the dead and whimpered, "why did you fight him..." He left the scene , heading into the city. He could contact his master with the symbol he had burned in his arm, it would inform him that Karl had something to report, drawing him from deep in himself, where it kept secure from light. As Karl walked he began wondering, he knew it would still be listening, making sure he didn't run. He spotted the sayer, the man who had tried keeping him and his former leader alive. His mind thought fast, than he decided. Drawing his knife, he walked forward, and spoke to him. "You know my master will get what he wants? He has already sent you running, in shame and defeat. Why not bow now? He'd show mercy and spare your life." As he spoke, he calmly ran the knife on his arm, leaving a faint outlining of one word: help! @Vargo Seldon @ZincAboutIt
  20. The creature looked Algorath in the eyes, his own glowing goldish, he spoke almost apologetically, "well done, these citizens blood is on your paws, impure." He raised himself , and as the mob closed in, he dispersed throughout the clearing. Than shadowed figures stepped forward, drawing swords and moving through the crowed. They had killed one of his host's, not knowing just how many he had. His hosts moved with eye bluring, hacking down men, women and children alike. The crowd screamed and struggled, a man throwing himself between one host and his family. The most merely cut him down, stepped over and killed the family. When they where done, only they and Algorath lived. One knelt down next to Algorath, and he recognized the host as Karl. Karl spoke in a much older, much stronger voice than he had when they first met. "Now tell me, did I not have the right to kill them? They, After all killed one of my favorite hosts." With that, he stood, and all three host's left the scene, letting Algorath gaze at the scene, it was no fight, it had been a massacre. @Vargo Seldon
  21. The creature drifted not far from the borders of the Fens, gazing at the city that lay before him. He watched as the city slowly began to wake up. The vendors getting an early start on their trades, the kids begging to be allowed to run freely, and even when he focused he was the palace. He looked at it all and silently spoke to himself. "Peace be upon you, mighty city, and may your suffering end soon..." He sensed one his followers, Karl, waiting for him. He did this each day, since he was made, blessing the people he would soon free. Few saw him as a savior, many saw him as a monster, a nightmare parents told their kids of at night. He remembered this world's starting point, when the first human's appeared on this world, cultivating it, capturing it. He sighed inwardly, mentioning for Karl to come closer. "My Lord," he began , "we have begun sending your followers into the rest of the city. They will start small, keeping this hope to those who need it most." Karl looked alot older now, he had been given more power than most he gave power to, making him into a firm host of his power. "Good, you have done well my child," the creature spoke calmly, almost as if he wasn't an ancient being that wished to see humanity end. "I have one last thing, a test for the newest members of our community." Karl looked eager, "say it, and it shall be, my Lord." " I want you to lead that bear to the new comers, and let them fight him to the death, if they succeed, they will be respected as if they where old members. " he watched the eagerness in Karl's eyes grow, and he knelt. "As you wish, my Lord" with that he left, leaving him to think and plan his next phase of the plan. Mutig had followed the group, leaving in defeat. He felt responsible for it all, as if him being in this city had caused this to happen. He knew one thing it seemed, he had heard of a cult for the shadows forming not far from the Fens, and had decided what he would do. justice is due. He thought, closing in on where they would meet, the sun hadn't risen yet, and he could see the group now. He moved towards them, making them start at first sight, then harden. "Leave. Now." He growled , counting the group, 6 in the center of the chamber, 2 on each side, and 1 cloaked figure near the back. The figure stood, and with a single word, moved the entire group: "kill" Mutigs eyes turned red, he saw the fight through a red haze. He wasted no time, he lunged at the six, scattering them while he crushed two nearest to him, he threw his head to the side, catching one by the throat and swinging him like a rag doll. He threw the corps at the two on the right of the room, knocking them down, then rolled to the other side, crushing the two who he missed the first time, and came up slashing at the two on that side of the room. One caught his paw with a wooden shield, but it splintered into shavings from the impact, the paw slashing him across the face and chest. Mutig felt something hit his back, and shot one hind paw out, hearing the crunch of a direct hit. He spun on the last three, and rushed them, his eyes glazed with blood lust, his entire body shivered as he killed the two who came first. Feeling another hit, this time to his head, he slung up, catching his target in the chest, throwing him towards the wall. He chased the man as he fail, tearing into him with his teeth, barely even registering his screams. Mutig staggered back from the scene, horrified by what he saw. He looked at himself, and saw blood, their blood, staining his thick fur deep red. He gazed at the scene, tears slowly forming in his eyes, then he did what he did what these days, run. He fled the place, but it was too late, he had been seen. He saw the looks of fear in the people's eyes, he saw parent's pulling their kids away from him, and he saw the cloaked figure, standing in the middle of the crowed. The figure raised his hands and spoke clearly. "Did not I warn you of this animals coming? Did not I tell you the beings that have been made for good are just monster's? This is what your king has brought into your city, this is what he drained his vaults to. Tell me, does this make him a just king?" He spoke with authority , and people began yelling back, shouting in anger. And Mutig ran. He dashed past the crowed, even as he heard the cloaked figure calling for justice for his people. He ran past a few guards, who jumped out his path as he ran, seeing his blood stained fur. Mutig hated himself, he had known the meeting was bait, but he bit anyways. When he stopped running, he was in a dark alleyway, connecting to Fens. With blurred eyes he ran into the Fens, and finally, to himself, he released a deep, pained roar, one loud enough to awaken the whole city. Guards took to strategic positions, magic beings sprang up, drawing their weapons and turning towards those around themselves. On the tower, the man with an axe jumped to attention, he had dosed off slightly, and spun looking for the source of the roar. Than the woman smile. "Congratulations," she said, looking at Amara and Chadwick, "your friend has made himself known." The creature watched the bear, from the start of the fight to when he fled. He looked at Karl and gave his commands. "Move our people out of that part of the Fens, and let them know that if they believe themselves to be strong enough to be my host, they will bring me the bears head" Karl turned and left, informing more followers and starting the exudes. @Sorana @Vargo Seldon @Turtle373 @Steel Inquisitive @ZincAboutIt @Invocation
  22. The creature watched Algorath and Mutig walk away, his anger subsiding. He turned towards Amara and Chadwick, his anger returning, he hissed at them, making certain they knew his mood, "You best hope that boy lives , in the meantime" he looked at his two followers , "leave them with the symbols, and insure they don't. Leave." They both nodded. With that settled, he dispersed his power from the tower, regaining control of the Fens, and sending his followers back to their positions. @Sorana @Vargo Seldon @Turtle373
  23. The creature stood waiting for his new opponent, his eyes boiling with rage, doing all he could to not strike this fool from the sky, to not break his own bargain. He intensified his presence, drawing his power from the Fens, draining his power from his host's, calling them to squelch this hybrid from his territory. The creature turned towards them, and his two followers stepped forward, the woman drew a knife, setting it to the boys throat. The axe man braced to lob Amara's head off. Right as Algorath arrived, the creature smiled, feeling his own being rivaling that of this beings light. "Too little, too late." He said, keeping his fury out of his voice. "Your friend's have arranged your passage from the Fens." His power was focused now, squeezing this animals light, condensing his light, forcing him down onto the roof. "I suggest not testing my good will much further." @Vargo Seldon @turtle 373 @Sorana
  24. The creature pulled Amara back onto the roof, "good boy, now tell your friends to leave, or I will show them what a splattered healer looks like." He looked now at Amara, eyes growing cold, "never. Do that. Again." He mouthed each word, making himself clear, he released her to the ground. Mutig looked at the shadowed figures. They didn't move, didn't speak, didn't even move. They just stood, as if waiting for orders, then they moved, dispersing through the shadows, disappearing. what is he planing? @Turtle373 @Sorana
