  1. Welcome to the shard @preventer wind! I had learned about this forum through my brother who has helped construct somethings in the rp thread( but that's the point). I will warn you now, as I don't think anyone's mentioned this to you yet. If someone offers you a baked cookie, don't. Eat. It. People here have a habit of putting spikes in the cookies, so they can try claiming you as their own personal victim. Just thought I should give you a heads up. Again, welcome to the forum. ~chasmfiend ~
  2. I voted on Honor, based on how he most likely knew he was going to die, so he arranged a way to insure Roshar survived by sending a message to Dalinar. Other than maybe Preservation, I don't think any of the other Shards have done that.
  3. The raven watched as Algorath ran off, then looked at the Armored man. "I wasn't really going to eat the wolf, that's a scavenger thing." It looked at Mutig, and actually looked surprised, almost falling off its perch. "The Judge!" It squeaked , "the judge of heathens!" The man looked closely at Mutig, studying him, than he spoke. "Go and bring that hybrid to the inquisition, I will get these few that are here." " Sure you don't want help? This is literally the embodiment of justice, one wrong step and you die. " Mutig spoke as calmly and evenly as he could, he knew the inquisition knew about what he had done, but he didn't expect them to remember to this day. "I am afraid you are not up to times, my raven friend, I will go quietly, as we need to work together to win the battle that is coming." The man nodded, and the bird took off after Algorath @Sorana @Turtle373 @kenod The tree spirit that had been healing Algorath watched him rise, and spoke in a whisper that seemed aimed directly at Algorath. "Tell me, if one tree falls in the Forrest, does the Forrest cease to be? You can't give up, simply because you lost one of your pack, I know that is what made you run, for I have seen it in many wolves that feel stronger than anything else." The tree man looked at the sky and saw a raven landing not far off. "A raven from the inquisition? You'd best do as it says, their not, shall we say, friendly when forced to do something." With that, the tree spirit walked back towards the horde of magic beings, disappearing in the crowed. @Vargo Seldon
  4. Mutig stood up, eyeing the armored man. The man seemed to pay them no heed, did he know what has happened? A raven swooped down and landed on the mans arm, chirping and singing it's report. "Crowds gone, trouble gone." The bird looked at the dead wolf, "food?" @Vargo Seldon
  5. Mutig lunged forward, letting out a roar. But when he began to move forward, he found himself stopped by a lone figure who swept his legs out. He hit the ground, just in time to see the figure spin on his heels, bringing a metal staff slamming across Algoraths back, sending him into the dirt. The crowed froze, eyes widening, they stared at The man. He wore armor painted black, and seemed to emit a glow from his skin, making his armor stand out even more. His voice was gruff and seemed to allow no arguing. "WHO KILLED THAT WOLF!" He said in an unfazed voice. Watching the people begin to turn back, until one man stepped forwards, smiling at the new comer, undeterred by the speed in which he put two magic beings down. The man from the crowed spoke loud, but seemed to be straining, as if he didn't want to speak. "And this is what your king says is justice? He sends his dogs to do his work, while we suf–" he never finished, for the armored man spun his staff, and jabbed it into the mans for head. There was a flash of light, and the man staggered back, starring in panic at the armored man, then his eyes shifted, changing to murky black. His voice hissed like a snake. "Blood WILL be shed, don't think hiding will stop us!" With that, the man fell with a thud, not moving a muscle. The armored man turned back to the crowed, and spoke sternly. "He who dares to oppose the king or the high Heir shall pay with their lives! It was with trust that these animals came, and our king will not have them treated like sport for your entertainment! Thus speaks the Inquisition of Vania!" The crowed was already running, many dropping their weapons. Soon it was only them and the armored man, who went and knelt down next to the fallen wolf, checking for a sign of life, but found none. @Vargo Seldon @Turtle373 @Sorana @ZincAboutIt
  6. If you have a plan in mind, go right on ahead, it's your rp thread after all. @ZincAboutIt
  7. Yeah, I was looking at the rp thread and was thinking about how we can bring everyone back into one location, and get some other side questions answered at the same time. I was thinking one would stop the riot at the inn, and take round us all up and take us to the inquisition, seeing us as a potential threat to the cities stability. @ZincAboutIt
  8. @ZincAboutIt. Is there a distinct description for the inquisition? It's just come to my attention we have been talking about them while not really describing them.
  9. Mutig thought for a moment, then smiled, looking towards them, "I don't suppose our young friend is just sleeping?" He asked plainly as he could, letting his mind think of a plan. how to catch their attention, while not invoking a massacre... @Sorana @Vargo Seldon @kenod
  10. Mutig looked at the two women as they worked, and decided on what must be done. He turned towards the exit, and spoke over his shoulder towards Algorath. "We will wait until the boy is better, whoever the Heir is, that creature thinks he is a threat, and tried to kill the boy so as to stop him from telling us. Until he can tell us, we continue with our plan. We will start warning the occupants of this city, tell them they NEED to be miles away before sunset. With the normal people gone, we will have ourselves a city of magic. No risk of damage to the normal human's, but we will need every man and woman who can fight in magic to be ready for combat." His mind was set, this creature no longer had an excuse, this has been a direct attack upon a child, and Mutig knew he wouldn't rest until it was dead, or he was. The creature held his brother in shadows closely, letting him gasp and adjust to the change in life. The new shadow looked around, taking in The city that lay before them, and he smiled. "How long where we asleep?" He asked in a voice that sounded as if rocks where being slowly grinded on top of each other. "You and the other's have slept for century's, Seljing," he said, remembering his name, "much has changed since you walked this world, but most importantly, the bloodline of the cursed breachers has ended. There is only one left, and he doesn't even know what flows through his veins." Seljing looked at, letting his shadowed mass slowly take shape into that of a Dragon. "When do we march to war? When will we blot out that cursed sun again?" "soon, brother, very soon. But first we must free the rest, our army awaits hosts, and I have collected both goblins and humans for the task, now to start the ascension." With that they both went back down from the tower top, leaving the remains of Seljings host where they lay. @Sorana @Vargo Seldon @ZincAboutIt @kenod
  11. Mutig moved about, forcing objects and patrons out of the room, all the while thinking about what was happening. broken neck, snapped spine... That monster was trying to make sure we wouldn't save him, use what he knows... Then he stiffened, looking towards Algorath. "Who is the heir?" @Vargo Seldon
  12. Ah, I should have read your characters thing more closely.
  13. Okay, I will admit I was kinda hoping someone had a hidden heal card up their sleeves.
  14. Mutig stepped back from Karl, grimly thinking of what must be done. He glanced at Lilia, and then back the boy. "I don't suppose," he said shaking, watching the boys eyes drowning in tears, " I don't suppose you could the make this less painful? " @kenod
  15. He still alive, but will be dead soon. @kenod
  16. Go ahead!
  17. That would be correct, it took a look, was where he was a d chose to remove, not knowing he had already spilled most of the Intel.
  18. Mutig had been listening to them talk, thinking through what he would say. "Although that is a plan, I doubt we would find that many who would stand with us, save those who have honor or protective instincts built in, but I don't think that would be many." He could still feel that creatures grip on his heart, the way he had seemed so calm, so matter of fact that he would kill him without hesitation. "Perhaps we where blessed by Vania, for if we had just run into the Fens without knowledge of this being growing it's numbers, we wouldn't have made it anywhere near out target before being torn apart. Perhaps we must split," he looked at Algorath, "You take your pack and Chadwick to gather those of the magic beings who will listen, while me and Amara inform the king and the inquisition. We would run the risk of being hit off guard, but we would get more done this way." Karl, who had stood watching, suddenly widened his eyes even more. He began to gasp for breath, and fell to the ground, coughing words almost in a plead, "no! Please my lord! I can still help you!" He looked at them pleading for help, and then his eyes went black, and a deep, guttural voice spoke in anger. "You have failed my orders!" Karl suddenly flew into the wall, hitting so hard they could hear bones snap. "You where told to bring me the heir, the key to victory, but your delayed acts and attempts to dessert have tried me!" Karl slammed against the dirty floor, and shadows began to extend around his limps, slowly pulling them from his body, letting Karl scream in agony, heading in beg for mercy. The shadows stopped pulling briefly, and lifted his head to speak into his ear, "But don't worry, I have already sent one of my own race, your mother was a good host, and died releasing him. You, however, will die in pain, agony, knowing that you could have had peace if you had simply obeyed. .." And with one last snap, it left the boy whimpering, his neck snapped and broken. Mutig gazed at it all in astonishment, it had taken place within a minute. He lunged to Karl, "NO!" He bellowed. @Sorana @Turtle373 @Vargo Seldon
  19. Here is how things are to my knowledge. @Sorana, @Turtle373, @Vargo Seldon and me are at the tavern with Karl, Fritz, and the inn keeper. @ZincAboutIt is in the market I think? @Steel Inquisitive, @Invocation and @MacThorstenson are in the Fens, standing there still I think. We at the tavern just learned that the shadowed creature was searching he Fens for an ancient tomb that contained more beings like him, and he needs hosts in order to form a bridge to get them out of their prisons. And I am not sure what everyone else has been up to, but we at the tavern had been about to decide on going to the inquisition and informing them of the shadowed creature, while @ZincAboutIt had been nicked by the shadow, making it be able to talk into his head, it can't physically control him, but it can give firm suggestions. On a scale of 1 - 10, how close did I hit? @kenod
  20. The boy looked around again, as if anything would listen, and said in a shaken voice. "He found the tomb, the place where his brethren where locked away. He plans on having us hosts be their key out of their imprisonment." The creature smiled to himself, his eyes watched as the teams he had assembled worked hard in the tower, digging deeper and deeper into the ground. Goblins, the one fairy tell creature he found the most useful, he had been to the mountains before Coming here, collecting a large number of these creatures to do exactly what they did now. One rushed up from the hole, and knelt down before him, it's voice ragged from the hard work. "We have found the tomb, now let us go as you swore!" The goblin made no pretense of respect, as did they all, they hated him for taking them so far from their homes. He nodded, "if it is as I wished to find, you will be free. No sooner, no later." He watched as the Goblins face grew tighter and tighter, fiery practically boiling from its eyes. He smiled at him, and went into the tomb. It was pitch black, but he didn't notice, he scanned the place, noting the runes and spells placed on this place to keep darkness inside. He moved through the tomb, remembering how this place had been before the humans uses it as a prison, the days before the war that changed everything. He stopped beside a stone casket, engraved with runes and spells, the runes glowed as he drew closer. He set himself against it, letting his power flow through his being, rivaling that of the spell. The flash caused the walls to shake, making the Goblins who had hoped in start running for the exit. Then, with a flash of light, the spell shattered. He twisted about, forcing the pain aside, he threw the lid off of the casket, and smiled at what he found. Stabs, things he knew held the souls of his fellow beings. He reached in and picked then up, and chained them together, then turned to the small knot of Goblins who had entered, carrying torches. "Proceed with finding the rest of these stamps, and Bring them to the top of the tower, you will not use them, for you will die." With that he left, heading to the top of the tower... And finding a drowsy, woman, half asleep beside a now dead fire. He was surprised, but then angry at her. congratulations, you just volunteered. @Sorana @Vargo Seldon @Turtle373 @Steel Inquisitive @Invocation @ZincAboutIt @MacThorstenson
  21. Karl looked into Amara's eyes, panic clear on his face, and breathed three words, "he found it..." @Sorana @Vargo Seldon
  22. Mutig held still, letting her look at the wound, while he eyed Karl closely. He whispered to then both, letting his thoughts be known in full. "I don't think going into the Fens on our own is a wise decision. That creature let us leave, most likely to make us think we where safe." He turned and eyed Karl, noting how he seemed to look all around, to search the shadows. He spoke openly, letting Karl hear him. "What do you mean 'he is focused on the tower'?" "Not the tower itself," Karl repeated, "but what is under it, something that requires a lot of hosts to free." He froze, his eyes widening, a flash of panic on his face, than he fail. His breathed desperately, looking around wildly. @Sorana @Vargo Seldon
  23. Mutig looked Algorath in the eye, puzzlement clear on his face. "Did you see any of his host's when we where running with Amara?" He asked, " I don't recall any form of resistance, even though it had been very distinct about keeping her the first time. " He looked around, and was surprised to see Karl standing in the entrance to the tavern. "That's because he has no more need for her, he got what he needed, a brief guide to stitching a human body. He has more like that, and every host has a bond to him, giving him control whenever he decides." Karl stepped further into the stable, "more importantly, we see into his mind as well. He is focused on that tower, more on what's under it." Mutig rose stiffly, sitting down had been a mistake, allowing the chest hit to gain attention. @Vargo Seldon
  24. Karl had been watching when Mutig had gone running through, carrying first the child he and the gang had roughed up, than with the healer. He had been surprised at the sight, but began hatching a plan. He gathered his things, a knife, really, and head down and into the tavern. He saw the healer in no time, and walked towards her. "Why do you resist the truth?" He asked as calmly and evenly as he could, while he slowly ran the knife on his arm, trailing the letters: help! Mutig had made it to the back now, and sat in the hay, starring at his claws. He had let the thirsty, vengeful part of his now growing personality get the better of him. He knew why it happened, the city wreaked with injustice. He could practically breath it, it made him want to tear it down, to leave no stone on top of the other. He frowned, a thought forming in his head. The stories of him had always had one thing in common, Tiana. Another guardian, one who could him in check, the peace keeper while he was the brute force. Since she died, since he did what he had done, the story had been shifting, and that terrified him. @Sorana @Turtle373 @Vargo Seldon
  25. Mutig stood up and looked around, watching the city return to its original form of chaos. He looked around, then raised himself onto his hind legs, using his front legs to balance himself against walls, then took a long sniff of the air. He smiled to himself, as the scent of wolves drifted to him, and went back to all fours. "You head inside, I'll be around back near the stable." He told Amara , and slowly began walking, making sure that if anyone caused Amy trouble, he would be in sight. @Sorana @Turtle373 @Vargo Seldon
