    This is honestly my favorite series, and Prof was definitely a favorite character of mine. His character development is really awesome! I loved Calamity, except all the plot twists thrown into the epilogue

    My Sanderson story: In the eighth grade, I went to a Michael Vey book release party. Four other authors were there with Richard Paul Evans, one of which was Brandon Sanderson. Steelheart had just been released, so Sanderson was talking about it. I thought "hmm, interesting." I later checked it out from the library, then unfortunately didn't finish. A few years later, I had a gift card to Barnes and Noble and didn't know what to get with it. I saw Steelheart and said "I never finished this, I'll give it a shot." A few months later, I finally started restarted it. Well, I loved it so much I had to read Firefight and Calamity, and then when I ordered Skyward online as soon as I could. And now, here I am!

This resulted in a series of vignettes I wrote between David and Prof. My friend wrote a couple of these so I will post mine and then post the ones she did.     I was wondering if anyone could provide some input on the magic system in my novel. It's not fully fleshed out yet and I need some help developing it. The wizards in my novel have certain types of magic that they are born good at, and others that can be developed over time. There are also aspects of it that they can never master (example: A character who is born exceptional at influencing the elements. They struggle with telepathy, but they can still perform it to some degree. However, they are never able to shapeshift). My question is: What could be a determining factor of the magic they can and can't do? My friend had the idea that it could depend on genetics and ancestry, say someone who's ancestors were from Antarctica had power over heat and fire. Or we had an idea that maybe wizards with different powers came together in clans a long time ago and they all migrated to different places, meaning that where you're from could determine your power set. I'm just trying to come up with a better plan for my magic system, since it's not very together at the moment. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

    Thanks for all the tips!! I go in to take rhe ACT tomorrow. Fortunately I'm pretty good at English (I score around 30-31 on most practice test, the highest possible is a 36) and also we're taking them online this year, so I have the passage on the left side of the screen and the questions on the right. Science is alright, I just need to watch for minor details that might trip me up. I'm reviewing a few concepts tonight before bed, but I'm getting to bed early tonight so I can be refreshed and awake when testing starts. Thanks for the test-taking tips and study tips, I'm hoping for an overall score of 28. Hopefully I do well enough on the stuff I'm good at that it makes up for the stuff I'm not great at, but I'm still reviewing what I struggle with one more time tonight!

    I relate to you, I was put in the hospital about a year and a half ago at age 15, it was awful. I couldn't eat because my body rejected basically any food and I ended up with a feeding tube for a while. I was literally starving to death until that point and being in the hospital was so awful, you feel like the world is passing by you and you can't do anything to catch up with it. I hope you get better soon. *Hugs*

    So I just felt like I needed to post this here. I'm taking college entrance exams this week! It's kind of scary to think about because the score I get on it could get me a nice scholarship to the college I want to go to. I'm pretty nervous about the test because my practice quizzes could be better. They aren't bad but I need to get them a little higher. Anyways, anything helps. Study tips, test-taking tips (especially math-related, that's the one I need the most help with), and whatever else you can think of. Anyway, thanks for reading this and letting me vent!

    A less popular author is Braden Bell/Brandon Gray. He kinda disappeared after publishing his middle grade novel, "The Missing Heir of Mandalray" (Italics have stopped working on my computer for the moment). After that, he posted no writing updates and I wondered where he went. But I did see recently that he's planning on releasing a couple sequels to a couple of his books this year, so I'm looking forward to that!
