The SA hole that I cannot find a good solution for.
Kon-Tiki replied to Karger's topic in Stormlight Archive
Even a single buildings' worth of marble is worth quite a bit, and on a planet where gemstones are to some extent farmable, that seems like a really good trade -

I do like this organization. Order vs Chaos is a feature common to fantasy novels that get categorized as "grimdark". While what Brandon writes doesn't really qualify as grimdark, I think the Cosmere could be described in a way as a sort of un-grimdark, especially Stormlight. In grimdark, the true believers in things like honor are portrayed as naive (often dangerously so) and the forces of "Order" really only have their ordered world -- or the illusion thereof -- to protect them from the forces of Chaos. But in the Cosmere, the Order forces of Honor and Preservation and Dominon grant tangible power. I've often thought of Stormlight particularly as a rejection of the sort of ethical nihilism of grimdark, but put this way I think you could say that the Cosmere generally grapples with these themes and comes to some very different conclusions than other authors in this space.

I tend to think the reason the Ghostbloods want to kill Jasnah is because she thwarted some of their plans to kill Gavilar, who was key in expanding the Sons of Honor and was basically a rival, though she probably didn't know much of who they were or what they wanted Gavilar dead. Those original reasons are extremely moot, and sending resources after her has proved pretty costly. I think they'd be minded to leave her alone of they thought she'd leave them alone

Pretty sure Ishar acting as the opposite of Pious is him sacrilegiously setting himself up as a God-King, not going full hypochondriac like Kalak
-
There's also the "other ambassador's" behavior. If you subscribe to the idea that each Herald is behaving in direct opposite to the Attributes that would go on to define the Knight Radiant Orders based off them, Kalak's are "Resolute" and "Builder" while Ishar's are "Pious" and "Guiding". The man who is probably Kalak is acting pretty much precisely the opposite of "Resolute", which would identify him as Kalak to me, not Ishar.

Interlude novella isn't necessarily backstory. In fact it hasn't been at all so far
-
The Interlude novella's main character has also traditionally been significant in the following book and given the next book is Willshaper and Singer oriented that pattern looks like it'll maintain into book 4. So its likely that it'll feature someone who's prominent in book 5, which is a big deal. Nale and Vasher both make sense to me on that front

The Ghostbloods have tasked Shallan with recruiting Sja-Anat for them

Lift is angry about not getting what she asked for, and the Nightwatcher has never been bound by what you asked for in the first place. You get what the Nightwatcher thinks you deserve. And if Cultivation is involved (likely), well she's less bound than the Nightwatcher. Lift already has a lot of "rules" in her head for the way she thinks things should work that she applies to Wyndle, and it isn't stretching to assume she did the same with her Nightwatcher deal. What's clear is that Lift wanted something from the Nightwatcher that she did not get. She's aging and growing up whether she likes it or not.

Lift did not get what she asked for

I'm not convinced Hoid is interested in any of the other Orders. Lightweavers have Oaths he's uniquely suited to deal with, and the other Orders might bind him further in ways he can't/won't acquiesce to. Furthermore, Lightweavers' Illusions are something he's specifically interested in, as it is a direct improvement over his preexisting Lightweaving.

I'm not sure Kaladin is asexual so much as he's on a different tier of the hierarchy of needs
-
Kaladin is specifically an uncommon name among darkeyes, and if she's heard much of anything of the story of the slave captain turned Radiant, his name would be a dead giveaway. In any case, my take is that since she was headed to Mourn's Vault, which is about as far away from an Oathgate as you can get in Roshar, she's much more likely to show up in Hearthstone than Urithiru

That relief was made by the Alethi on the Shattered Plains, who don't seem to know much of anything about Shardblades
-
Rhyshadium, greatshells of all flavors, Purelake fish, and skyeels all bond with spren in more or less the same way. Rhyshadium are fairly closely associated with Radiants or at least with Shardbearers, but I don't see much of a connection with any of those others and I really don't see Bondsmiths needing to be involved with making all of those happen. Looks more like natural environmental symbiosis, only magical beings are involved

Is there more to Lirin than meets the eye? An out-there theory
Kon-Tiki replied to Fanghur Rahl's topic in Stormlight Archive
If that's the case, then there are two references to Kaladin swearing the Third Ideal in the Death Rattles and that seems like a lot to me- 38 replies

It was missing entirely, but it was Ash's. Presumably it has been removed due to prior defacing
-
It is extremely unlikely that a statue of a Herald would have been allowed to remain defaced/absent for any significant amount of time in Gavilar's palace
-
That's Jezrien. He also shows up in the prologue of WoK where Szeth stumbled into a drunken man asking "Have you seen me?". Further, Kalak, Nale, and Ash were all definitely at the party where Gavilar was assassinated
-
They left Taln behind (they knew how/where he had died) and they were prepared to leave Kalak behind if it turned out he had died too. As for time scale, I could see days, but not weeks in case he was an Oathgate hop away. Either way, I suspect it didn't take much convincing of Ash any more than it did of Kalak.
-
Took less time than it took for Kalak to show up
-
Navani is scheduled to have the prologue assassination scene however and you never know what we'll get out of those
