Why is Kaladin not effected by the Thrill?
Kon-Tiki replied to Lightblood's topic in Stormlight Archive
Unfortunately, Kaladin and Dalinar are really the only two Radiants we've seen who've been in a position to feel the Thrill. And yeah you're right about the name, but Nergaoul did go to Jah Keved for the civil war in Vedenar- 22 replies

Known heralds and their locations
Kon-Tiki replied to Brightness Jencee's topic in Stormlight Archive
Which is why I said it the way I did. I tend to value what's said in the book higher than WoBs and I don't know what's gained by saying she's Battar when she's actually Pailiah -

That's Dovah. There's some conflicting information -

You can probably find them on coppermind.net, but here's what I can think of off the top of my head: Ishar: God-King of Tukkar Jezrien: the beggar Ahu. Super dead Nale: Nale Chana, Vedel, Pailiah: unknown Battar: the Ardent Dova (maybe Pailiah?) Ash and Taln: in Jasnah's custody Kelek: unknown, but the nervous "diplomat" at Gavilar's party There might be some errors in here but should be pretty close -
I think Syl is diffrrent from the other Honorspren as men's ideas about what honor is have changed since the Recreance. Honor before was a lot more about making and keeping oaths, defending the defenseless, etc. Modern Vorin honor is a lot more about war and dueling and fighting to defend your name. Its a more medieval sense of honor. And the Honorspren have pretty clearly picked up on that as they tried to take over Shadesmar recently. Syl was not made from that kind of Honor. And I don't think its an accident that she's bonded someone who is pretty solidly outside the Vorin social structure and really doesn't see honor or battle the way normal Alethi do. Someone who's immune to the Thrill. I expect there will be a lot of conflict between Syl and the other Honorspren (I'm looking at you, Phendorana), especially since Syl is sort of de facto in a position of authority

Um have you met Vin?

Well, except Vin

There are easier ways to darken your eyes than visiting NW

Rashek's government also had the rather unfair advantage of never having to deal with a succession crisis or change in approach
-
1) I've seen people claim that WoB is "misleading". He never actually confirms she stopped aging, at the very least, he just let us infer. 2) In both ED and OB, Lift complains to herself about how she's definitely getting bigger and is mad at NW for lying to her
-
Lift seems to be aging normally as well. She didn't get what she asked for, or at least NW and/or Culti chose to take a wild interpretation of Lift's request

I'm convinced that Wisdom is a Shard, and if it were to have an opposite it would be Instinct. Replaces Logic and Madness for me on your wheel

Kaladin wouldn't even really run an army well. He can barely run a batallion. He's a fantastic battlefield commander but that's like 10% of running an army EDIT: Not only that, but he has no experience dealing with multi-front battles or deploying Shardbearers.

My copies of Stormlight Archive are in storage so I can't verify this, but I believe Gavilar was in the Unclaimed Hills, not dead when the Rhoshone Affair occurred

Rock and Cultivation's Perpendicularity
Kon-Tiki replied to BrightnessSamantha's topic in Stormlight Archive
I think the Shin are the least likely to have Listener blood. That's the original land humanity was given when the immigrated from Ashyn. The Shin never left, never intermingled. Their flora and fauna are Earth-like, not rocky and crustacean like the rest of Roshar. Their weirdness is that they look like small bald white people in a world where most people look like what we on Earth would call Asian or African- 11 replies

Why didn't Odium trigger the everstorm before?
Kon-Tiki replied to Luinedhel's topic in Stormlight Archive
The weakening of the Oathpact is explained as being part of the reason the Fused are reborn every Everstorm and not just returned to Braize after they are killed EDIT: Though, how the SF could know that when there's never been an Everstorm before is beyond me- 34 replies

SF said that the Oathpact is weakened. I don't think that qualifies as speculation. He didn't hedge, he stated- 34 replies

It gets a little hazy there but as you're still making a pact with a fae creature I'd still call it Warlock. Same as if the pact was made with the spirit of a forest or river or somesuch. But if I had a player who really just wanted to play a Sorc in this sort of setting I'd probably work it out, since its fairly grey. Its not like D&D is really well equipped for something as non-traditonal as Stormlight Archive anyway. It'd need its own system
-
Sorcs get their power from 1) some sort of inheritance (dragon lineage, angelic lineage) or 2) a connection to the land (stone sorcs, wild magic sorcs). Since all the KRs are swearing oaths and bonding with Fae powers to get their abilities, I don't know that Sorcerer really applies. The closest might be Dalinar, since he's bonded the Stormfather
