  1. This was... unexpected!
  2. There's an even better WoB where Brandon equates it to using Honorblades
  3. Wayne is like, icky as a person, but that wouldn't necessarily stop him from bonding a spren, so Edgedancer isn't the worst choice.
  4. Yep! Unsealed (that's the term) metalminds are super weird. The nicrosilmind doesn't even seem to be tapped at all, which is quite strange
  5. I don't think it does normally - the Medallions seem to be hacks
  6. Yes, but Roshar has forests. Just of strange native plants. There's huge swaths of the map that are very green
  7. It's obviously not working, because Khriss is saying the magic is imbuing itself in the planet and coming alive
  8. "Landscape", not nations or cultures. I don't think the entire planet is coming to life, but rather specific sections are all coming alive, and are different from other sections. So like, a living Arelon vs a living MaiPon. And just because Odium made the Dor to stop anyone from taking up the Shard, doesn't mean it worked. The Dor was Odium's first kill, and he's obviously refined his techniques. It's just... why mention something obvious about nations in an essay on planets and Realmatics? All nations differentiate between their people and other nations. That's how... nations work
  9. Well the thing is, it wasn't. That was Pattern "interpreting", and by interpreting I mean stating the stick's resistance to change. The stick does not want or feel or think, it's just a stick. The state of the Investiture really doesn't matter. All Investiture, if left alone long enough, becomes sapient. The Dor is embedding itself in various areas of Sel and bringing them to life. It's sort of like Awakening That doesn't really make sense... all nations do this? Why would Khriss remark that in such an odd way instead of saying "these nations are very isolationist" or something.
  10. Roshar has plenty of forests? I'm fairly sure Shinovar was always like that, either by design of Shards or Adonalsium himself
  11. The Beyond is something Brandon never plans to cover, or prove it if exists. But he does focus on Adonalsium, so I doubt he's going anywhere Brandon isn't
  12. You can like both women and men
  13. How do Fabrials use bonds?
  14. There's a WOB where he says he counts three systems on Roshar, which are the ones I laid out. Also huh, I forgot about that WoB. I always figured Surgebinding was a blend
  15. I seriously doubt Lift is an intro to Cultivation's magic? She just seems like she's weird to me, and her Surgebinding definitely comes from a normal Nahel bond. Where's the other bond? Is eating a bond? I don't count the Singer bonds as a magic system anyways, I'm using the Surgebinding/Voidbinding/Fabrials distinction Brandon made
  16. What magic have we seen besides Surgebinding and Fabrials?
  17. I, for one, don't think Voidbinding requires a bond to begin with. That seems like Honor's thing, considering his already established love of bonds. Why would Odium's magic system have the same method of entry as Honor's?

    Is Odium two shards?

Dustbringers have little to do with destruction beyond their Surges - hell, Isaac has said that their entire thing is learning to deal with responsibility. They seem like bodyguards to be entirely honest, especially considering their Divine Attributes are "Brave/Obedient". I don't think the powers match up with the ideology of the Orders too much. Like, what's particularly Justice-y about manipulating gravity and chemical reactions?
  19. None of them, as most of them are terrible people who would be horrendous in a relationship!
  20. Live action is a bit difficult because none of the races on Roshar exist in real life. The Alethi are some sort of cross between Arab, Polynesian, and Japanese, with added tallness due to higher oxygen + gravity on Roshar. Are we going to have to synthetically create actors for a Stormlight TV show?
  21. If by universal sounds, you mean list of all sounds produced in human languages, then no. These are just the sounds Proto-Gish uses, also called its phonetic inventory
  22. This is a constructed language for my book. It's the ancestor language of multiple languages spoken in the books, mainly the Gish tongue spoken in Gishik, among others. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1abcizF8RGOMnczWeTIy_tk42O0_PoZd6p9nG7XTrMJ4/edit?usp=sharing tell me what you think! Criticism is always open
  23. @Lord Furret the disasters have a magical charge, and the Pulses are basically just this charge in a physical form. They disappear when used
  24. The Spiritual Realm is independent of time, but those who affect it are not. It is all times, but people can't really comprehend that.
  25. How so? Its exact function doesn't really reveal its power, and the ability to control and power the incredibly intricate tech of Urithiru is a feat all on its own.
