    I think they would not be affected by something that was not their real weakness. The weaknesses are not caused by the fear, they are caused by the actual thing. Proof: If a fake weakness works, then an Epic not knowing their weakness was affecting them would not be affected. However, Nightwielder is still affected by UV even when taken by surprise.

    Hm I kind of agree with @King Cole. I think Ea and Adonalsium have about equal power. The shards each have the powers of God's, able to destroy or create planets. I think they could take the Valar. And you never mentioned the Epics or (reckoner spoilers):

    Wow. I just read the first bit of this thread and the very end, and The story really took a weird turn somewhere.

    Definitely Emperor's Soul. It is complex, shows incredible understanding of people, has a great main character, and ALL TAKES PLACE IN THE SAME PALACE. Also, @Draginon, in the last paragraph did you mean Joel instead of David, or is there a character I'm forgetting?

    Hmm... I would say the Emperor's Soul, but that's more of a short story, so Mistborn. I think Vin is one of the best main characters. Too late, I already accepted the cookie

    I agree that the second method might work, but for the first, the Steelrunner could react easily to any counter, creating the same situation Vin uses when fighting Zane.

    Sorry that I'm a little late posting on this, but I also think that the Emperor's Soul is Brandon Sanderson's best work by far! IT IS AMAZING!!

    I agree that the Steelrunner would easily win, especially with preparation beforehand. They could just store a huge amount of speed and then tap enough of it at once that the atium misting appears standing still to them. There would be nothing the atium misting could do to react. Checkmate.

    How do the metalmind medallions that allow you to make yourself lighter work? I understand that they work similarly to the unkeyed gold metalmind that Wayne finds, but instead they store Investiture, which when tapped gives the user the Feruchemical ability to store weight in iron. However, to access the stores of Investiture in the nicrosil, the user should have to already be a Soulbearer Ferring or full Feruchemist. If this is the case, how do characters without this Feruchemical ability, such as Marasi, use the medallions?
