  1. It's not like coinshots are forced to use, you know, coins.
  2. Well, the shard most compatible with Cultivation... is Ruin. I think the highstorms being destructive might not be out of place there.
  3. Thanks to ArsenoPyrite's reddit question, we do have a lot more info on how gems work in stormlight archive. The color is, apparently, quite significant to using the proper gemstone, which is a point in favor of waveforms - but chemical composition seems to matter as well. I'm guessing that it's a little more complicated than just that, though this is getting close to something.
  4. The eye color change is temporary for Szeth - it isn't for the other shardblades we've seen.
  5. They got sold off at the end of Mistborn. I've always assumed that Hoid purchased them for his mysterious ends, but there's no canon support for that. Either that, or somebody burned them, which... well, that's got some weird, not-totally-decided-yet effects.
  6. Yeah, you can only steal one from a particular person, but we know from koloss that you can accumulate additiona charge by repeated stabbings.
  7. I don't think there's any rule against storing multiple abilities in atium spikes.
  8. Miles had some pretty screwed up biology, so he was probably a Health Savant. But savantness seems more of a persistence thing. Not really something you'd figure out.
  9. I get the feeling that all forms of investiture tend to make things sapient.
  10. There's also this, though. http://www.17thshard.com/forum/topic/1729-a-late-breaking-report/ The fact that his shards are at odds with each other, and seem to have distinct influences upon Sazed, kinda implies that they still exist as distinct entities. Regardless, I don't see any reason why you'd have a hard cutoff to cognitive gain at "one sixteenth", and gain no improvement from upgrading to "one eighth".
  11. Well, he consideres harmony to really be two seperate shards. And I'm pretty sure that Sazed is higher up the brainmeats scale than the Ascended Lord Ruler was.
  12. Yeah it wasn't metal.
  13. Anyway, some quotes Now, the whole "Fortunately, it took him a long time to figure out how to mix the powers correctly, and the Inquisitors haven't had the time to practice, regardless of the force controlling them" kinda implies there's more to combining powers than just 'burn a metalmind'.
  14. Did he? Honestly I don't recall the whole 'kelsier becoming a spike' thing at all. Do you have a source for that?
  15. Yeah it's confirmed that his atium bracers acted as hemalurgic spikes. Note that since atium is a wildcard for hemalurgy, he could use them for anything.
  16. The lord ruler *also* is a savant (or near savant) with every metal, had hemalurgic enhancements, and there are a couple of interview questions that imply he figured out how to somehow enhance allomancy with feruchemy.
  17. His armbracers were definitely hemalurgic.
  18. Well, remember this is a *conscious* opposition. So I don't think it's something like 'the cognitive realm'.
  19. It's possible to sleep with metals inside you. For steel and iron it isn't even going to be unhealthy - breakfast cereal actually just has iron filings in it. And just to repeat, there are non inquisitor allomancers that can sense trace metals. There just aren't many of them
  20. Well, the AMA had a question about a blind mistborn. http://www.reddit.com/r/Fantasy/comments/1ced7z/iamstilla_novelist_named_brandon_sanderson_ama/c9fr744?context=3
  21. I might as well toss in the AMA quote about max speed. Looks like it includes balance as well, if the limiting factor is air resistance.
  22. Vin already has hemalurgic double bronze. She also uses duralumnium, and OreSeur is right in the room with her. If she (with all her advantages) doesn't pick up anything funky at this point, I think we can safely conclude that it ain't bronze.
  23. Yeah I kinda doubt that the Lord Ruler would make inquisitors strong enough to see the lines and pull on his atium bracers.
  24. Not to be that guy, but I obviously must have been talking about the original Hoid, not the imposter who keeps running around. *phew* Nailed it.
  25. So Identity includes what magic systems you have access to. Huh. That certainly puts a new spin on aluminum metalminds.
