Could also be that they were a hazekiller first, and snapped.

Well, he's been altering her feelins, which is why she felt that the mists were hateful and stuff.

Excess oxygenation causes giddiness and euphoria - hence the Oxygen Bars that you occasionally see.

Gallant is actually a shardhorse.

Thing is, Hoid's been doing his 'showing out of nowhere' schtick since LONG before Mistborn. Like, a thousand years at least. And there have been some mentions that the Worldbringers (Terris Religion) and Worldsingers (Hoid's storytelling organization in Stormlight) are connected. It's entirely possible Hoid picked up Feruchemy legitimately - as far as we can tell, Ruin seemed to want to keep Hoid away from Vin, which implies he recognized something about Hoid. Perhaps Hoid was around when the Terris first gained Feruchemy - heck, for all we know he could have founded their religion. In addition, there's a good chance you can use the 'spiritweb-rewrite' from Lerasium to do more than just splice in allomancy. Hoid was looking for the Well of Ascension in the Terris mountains, and we know that he wasn't interested in the Well's power itself. He took some Lerasium from it, which is really the only reason he could have for making the trip. How would Hoid know it was there unless he's already acquainted with Lerasium?

The real question is, can you only store breath, or can you also store Breath?

The problem with any 'similar untranslated words' theory, is that it's really easy to do stuff like that by accident. For example, 'Ati' is an Aon in Elantris (IIRC, it means 'hope'), but that's been confirmed as just a coincidence.

Devotion, Dominion, and Magic on Sel
Phantom Monstrosity replied to KChan's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Yeah that was misphrased, I meant 'work as well', not 'work period'. -
I've always considered savantage as being similar to how Vin ascended. We have this epigraph from Sazed and this quote from Brandon on the forum Q&A Basically, savants are getting 'troughs' ripped through them, but they aren't getting enough power to vaporize or anything - they're basically ripping a bigger hole into their spiritweb(?), which lets them channel more power at once (thus creating massively overpowered effects relative to normal allomancers), but also causes a lot of damage to them. A 'lerasium savant' would basically be ripping massive troughs into their 'channel more of preservation's power' channels, which, hey, means that you'd be channeling all of preservation's power, and ascent.

Theory: Devotion, Dominion, and Convergence
Phantom Monstrosity replied to Chaos's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Seons aren't themselves splinters. The aon at the center is, but the seon isn't. -
Theory: Devotion, Dominion, and Convergence

Well, splinters have a blend of cognitive and spiritual presence. I don't see why a shard would be any different -
It's more complicated than just that, though belief is part of it

Theory: Devotion, Dominion, and Convergence
Phantom Monstrosity replied to Chaos's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I think that's a bit of a stretch given the quote. It could easily be read as "accessing the Dor is very regionally influenced". -

Forging wouldn't work outside MaiPon, IIRC. -
Identity, Regional Magic, and Feruchemy
Phantom Monstrosity replied to KChan's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Here's what we know about regional magic inheritance. It looks like it takes several decades for the changes to sink into your family line under normal circumstances. I also find it interesting that there's possibly seperate cognitiveDNA, unless Brandon was just referring to culture as a kind of cognitive genetic inheritance. Regardless, I think that being born somewhere is more than just 'where you think yourself as being from'. -
When did Odium kill Honor?
Phantom Monstrosity replied to Colateralwar's topic in Stormlight Archive
Probably not ordinary, if ati and leras' corpses were any indicator. http://www.17thshard.com/forum/topic/2383-qa-with-brandon-sanderson/page-5 -

And naturally cultivation would be the expert at that. I see. -
Identity, Regional Magic, and Feruchemy
Phantom Monstrosity replied to KChan's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Hmm. My real question is, if you rewrite your identity how do you retain your feruchemy? -

When did Odium kill Honor?

Splintering is a long and time-consuming process, though. I suspect Tanabanana was dead already -
When did Odium kill Honor?
Phantom Monstrosity replied to Colateralwar's topic in Stormlight Archive
On the one hand, Kelsier took up the power, which apparently prevented BAD THINGS from happening. On the other hand, spren already act as the leak to prevent a Dor-type situation from happening. We know that new spren appeared or changed when Honor was shattered, but that's not necessarily something that would be immediately noticeable, given how erratic and difficult to track spren are. -

Nobody noticed when Leras died.
