  1. I'm not sure being a pewter savant wouldn't make you weaker when not burning pewter, just like how spook became numb and unable to feel things when he turned off his tin.
  2. I believe. That said this interface is a little clumsy.
  3. Okay, I turned this up http://brandonsanderson.com/article/93/Tweets-November-14-16-2011 Marsh has tattoos, so if a kandra can fake him convincingly, they should be able to fake tattoos.
  4. I think that's a bit different, though. Savantism happens because you're cutting channels into your spiritweb from overuing the power, not just from having the power per se.
  5. If there were any justice in the world, pinnacle ferrings would use lithiumminds.
  6. I think extrapolating from personality to physical form isn't a jump you can necessarily make.
  7. I don't really see how this works as something that you can store. I mean, let's say I had the choice of joining the Peace Corps or going to college. If I went to college and stored 'going to college', presumably I'd be an alternate self who went to the peace corps, right? But then if alternate guy stores 'joined the peace corps' I'd be back where I started.
  8. you'd have to melt down lerasium to make an alloy with it. And (obviously), the mists aren't made out of gaseous metal. But let's look at the other god metal as a sample Zane managed to give a ball of lead an atium plating. And, obviously, atium was melted down to make the malatium alloy (and probably for TLR's bracers as well). It doesn't ignore phase changes, but you'll just get 'liquid atium' or 'superheated atium vapor', not 'black ruiny lakewater' or 'black ruinsmoke'.
  9. Mass of the orbiting body doesn't matter (so long as it's small compared to your big central one). Otherwise you'd have problems with moons and asteroid belts and stuff.
  10. Well, for any given orbital radius (technically: semi-major axis) around the sun there's only a single orbital period that works. It's a function of distance^(3/2), so you'd have a rather shorter year if you're closer to the sun.
  11. Tineyes definitely become more sensitive to temperature - Spook gets very uncomfortable outside a very narrow range.
  12. That was badly phrased. What I meant was that if new spren types suddenly came into existence after Honor shattering, we can assume that they're made only out of honor. And if you've got spren that are pure honor, why would the honorspren be a mix with cultivation?
  13. I think this is the quote you're looking for? http://www.17thshard.com/forum/topic/1729-a-late-breaking-report/ Yeah, being able to use feruchemy to damp down your super senses from tin is one of the things that makes it a really nice compounder combo. You can do it on a sense-by-sense basis too, so you could tap sight and store all the other senses to become a human Hubble.
  14. If it were just a question of temperature to force a phase-change in the metal, then the mists (as the gaseous form of preservation) would be thousands and thousands of degrees in temperature. People would melt in the streets, and the 'deepness' would result in a catacylsmic firestorm that annihilated all of humanity overnight in an all-consuming and unstoppable inferno.
  15. But there were new spren that only existed after the shattering. Honorspren could be some of those.
  16. Thermodynamics don't really apply to spiritual imprints
  17. That's a metaphorical use, though. It isn't actually 'time travel', it's just storage.
  18. All of whom are half-noble. Missed seeing this, but it's been answered on TWG.
  19. The mists were only snapping people with allomantic power down in the 20%->30% range. People who have that little allomantic potential can only be mistings, not mistborn, and they won't snap without mist assistance. If you'll recall, there weren't any mistborn at all before TLR used lerasium to add extra potential to the gene pool. There just aren't any skaa with mistborn-level potential; they don't have the genetics.
  20. Well, kandra can't make hair. I think they could maybe sandwich themselves around a thin layer of the original skin, and gradually transfer the tattoo by slowly dissolving it. It'd probably take quite a long time, and blur it a little.
  21. The dose makes the poison.
  22. The Inquisitors spike drinks with atium to detect mistborn. That wouldn't work if anyone could burn it.
  23. Because 'gaining feruchemy' is a low hanging fruit as a possibility? If it were in the slightest bit possible, the guys who understand the systems in-universe would consider it. Heck, they apparently have a little more info about how the god metals work than the readers do, given the info that just got dropped in that quote. Also, Word of Brandon is that alloying lerasium can create all the varieties of mistings So really how else could you make an atium misting with lerasium, except by alloying them together?
  24. The soldier drank one of Elend's mistborn vials. He seems to only detect a single well of power here. If he were just burning all of them, he'd have instead gotten rather ill. Inquisitors can just burn a few grains of a metal to check if it's a good alloy, just like any mistborn does. I think Kelsier gives that as advice when training Vin to use gold.
