Spren- which shard they are related to.
Silus - Shard of Flame replied to valkynphyre's topic in Cosmere Discussion
My thinking is that the spren are a natural result of the ambient magics of all the Shards on Roshar. Though that's a good thought too. -
Theory on Elhokar *SPOILERIFFIC*
Silus - Shard of Flame replied to Earendil's topic in Stormlight Archive
Well, they say that having a Shard makes you a Lighteyes, I'm thinking that's a literal thing. I'm betting that the reason the Lighteyes are the aristocracy is that people associated that with the Radiants. Also explains why a good chunk of the magic users we've seen have been Lighteyes. -
How about a picture of the crew running the bridge, maybe with Kaladin in the armor running in front, with Bridge Four and the glyphs kinda around that. Other than that I'd say either 2, 4, or 6. (yay, even numbers!)

Should we have Epigraphs as a category? I'm about to do the TFE ones and I'm not sure. I'll just do it unless corrected.

Munin, Zigsil(sp?) is the Worldsinger, not Teft. Gonna take these out of order. The Radiants weren't immortal, but the Heralds were, sort of. Is that what you mean? If you do, that still doesn't work cuz the Heralds would all know about the magic, which Teft doesn't. Can we get page references on theory one? I don't think they ever mention worshiping the priests in either book. In Elantris, you had people be servants to the priests in a chain of obedience all the way up to Wyrn. Now I'm not sure if you're referring to the events that led to the Recreance in Vorinism or not, but I'll assume that until you say otherwise. In WoK, the Ardents became corrupt, taking power, but they never had people worship them.

So what of shen? *SPOILERS*
Silus - Shard of Flame replied to Eerongal's topic in Stormlight Archive
I'm betting that we'll get some slow progression from him until he's a full fledged character. I wouldn't be surprised if an upcoming book featured him as a major viewpoint. But I wouldn't figure that in until about book four or five at least. -
The first time I heard about Brandon was in an indirect, roundabout kind of way, about, oh, a year, year and a half ago? Only that long? Wow. It was after one of our high school's band concerts, which I had gone to to write something for a class (also cuz our band rocks), and afterward I was talking to a friend of mine. He had another friend with him, and then our mutual friend had to leave. I was waiting for my ride and so was this friend-of-a-friend, we started talking. He mentioned the WoT, which I hadn't heard of, and he told me some about it. He told me about how RJ had died and they had gotten someone else to replace him. I'm not exactly sure if he mentioned Brandon by name or not, but we moved passed the topic pretty quickly. Then, last winter, I was getting a ride home from a choir performance with a couple of friends and we started talking about books. One of my friends mentioned how much he loved Mistborn and said I should read it. So I did. And OH MY GOSH, it was so good! I've been hooked on Brandon's stuff ever since. In fact, I'm pretty sure I passed the friend who recommended it to me on fandomness once I started reading annotations.

I'm not sure whether or not to take this part literally or metaphorically. You never can tell with Hoid. (I can't help thinking "you never can tell with bees" whenever I use that phrase.)

The Rest of the Staff, According To Will
Silus - Shard of Flame replied to Shivertongue's topic in Introduce Yourself!
I'm not on the staff, but I've actually met a couple of these people. Josh and Mi'ch. Those two are CRAZY, and also slightly romantic, which is nice. -
GET TO KNOW THE OVERLORD - RUBIX

Your attempt at a booming voice doesn't really work when I know what you really sound like. -
Well, looking at the places that Brandon was going on the Way of Kings tour, I saw that the day after the midnight release, he was making an appearance at a Barnes and Noble at Jordan Landing. For those who don't know, Jordan Landing is a big shopping area in West Jordan, UT, and happens to be about ten minutes from my house. And, being the lucky guy that I am, I got to go see Brandon two nights in a row! Awesome. I arrived at about seven'o'clock, Brandon was running a bit late, which he often does, so I got there first. The atmosphere wasn't as electric as the midnight release, but neither were the people dead tired either. Pluses and minuses, I guess. I managed to snag myself a spot on one of the front rows and sat down to wait. There was much talk going on in anticipation of the author's arrival. And then he was there! After a quick introduction by (who I think was) the store manager. Brandon thanked us for coming and dove right in, reading the Prelude for the book. After which Brandon opened up the time for questions. Unfortunately, I don't have a recording, not being quite as awesome as Pooka in that regard. But he talked some about the structure of the book, his idea process, and a bit about the WoT. Then we moved onto the signing. At the beginning of the night, we had about 200 people, but as time went on folks started to trickle out until about 150 people got to see Brandon. But there were still enough people that we actually ran out of pre-signed books and had to start handing out numbered sticky notes. It was about 11 when everyone who had stuck around got their books signed and left. Those of us who were still there, and a few who had showed up only a little while ago for what was to happen next, went with Brandon to a (sorta) nearby Denny's to play Magic! People there were myself, fRR, Rubix, Nehex, Swift, and a few others who may or may not be members here. (if you were there and I missed you, let me know!) Brandon treated us to a late night snack, which was nice, though appetizers are a little greasy when playing card games. Things went along very nicely, fun conversation, pleasant company, etc, until Cthullu showed up. Or rather, Brandon owned us with his "Cthullu to the face" Archenemy deck. Twice. Here's the group that challenged Brandon. From the left: Adam, Brandon!, Me!, Logan (the leader of the rebellion against Brandon's oppression, who fought nobly), Josh, and Jessica. And then we left! Ta-dah!

Part Titles in Way of Kings

Yeah...they talk about it in the Endnote, just before the Ars Arcanum. It's an example of a holy Vorin poem, very difficult to write. -
Pirate Monkey Clan
Silus - Shard of Flame replied to Shivertongue's topic in Social Groups, Clans, & Guilds
Blasted trickery! I'll get you eventually, Pirate Monkeys, EVENTUALLY! *ship explodes for some reason* -
That means you wouldn't be able to burn Bendalloy very long but would be able to burn Cadmium for inordinate amounts of time.
-
One thing I just thought of that might be a problem. Is the speed at which the metal burns effected by the time bubble? I'd say yes.
-
Listen to Eerongal, he knows what he's talking about so much more than I do.
-
I'm kinda referring to both. As has been said, it looks kinda mid-nineties.

I'm not getting the font references, sorry. I agree, the site does give off an old-timey kind of vibe. Or as much as one as you can get on a modern computer. There's this cool little icon next to the name of the page in my tabs. It's green and white. That would be a color scheme I could get behind. Is it weird that you said "pit of Inquisitors" and my imagination goes first to Daniel and the lion's den and then to Reavers?
-
Either way sounds like a possible apocalyptic situation. A city frozen in time. Sounds like in Alcatraz, the tomb where time might be broken.

We don't have a direct link to the Wiki anywhere on the site. Not on the front page, not on the forum or RP main page. Is this going to be remedied soon?
