  1. Maybe it's the Cosmere aspect, have they published Alcatraz in the UK? Then again, that's a different publisher.
  2. Well, that was one idea, but it could, and quite possibly will, change when he knows what he's going to do with that second trilogy.
  3. My guess is that this would work if it was living flesh, since it would probably be either a Spiritual or Cognitive effect that offers that protection. And if it's possible on this world to make a living sheath, well, we'd be dealing with an entirely new system of magic. It would need a continuous source of evil to fight, then again, you could say the same of destroying evil too, so it's tough to tell.
  4. I'd like to announce that Portal 2 is AWESOME!
  5. I am not a MORON! ... Because I got Portal 2! I beat single player yesterday and am a good way through co-op with my brother.
  6. You are number two on the list, and you're opponent, number one, is...Peter.
  7. She's great, but what this mainly means to me is that I have another book to read, buy and get signed, and another signature to get on my eventual WE CD.
  8. If you google search for 17th Shard, a fansite I frequent, one of the links under it is my username there, Silus. You may not care but this makes me SO VERY HAPPY.

  9. I will try to be worthy of this most humbling honor. LOL
  10. I am unsure. I'm cautious about diving into anything new at the moment, due to various things. But I've been hearing a lot of good things about this. I'll get back to you. Maybe.
  11. They killed him. Right then and there. It was supposed to be pretty brutal.
  12. My jaw literally dropped when I saw that Aluminum was inert. I knew it couldn't be useless! If Aluminum can alloy with silicon, could they make their computers Allomantically inert for the future trilogies? It's great to finally see an External Temporal metal in action. Lots of cool stuff. What I want to know is if shooting into a Bendalloy bubble has the same effect as shooting out of it. Then it could make a rather effective shield.
  13. Hello! Glad to see more people on the boards, especially from across the pond. Maybe we should open a non-English section of the board?
  14. I haven't quite figured that out yet. I'll edit this post if I think of something.
  15. He's saying multiples of 16, not powers of sixteen. Powers of 16 are CRAZY. Do you know what 16 to the 16th power is? Nineteen quintillion, six hundred and seventy six quadrillion, five hundred and twenty seven trillion, nine billion, nine hundred and fifty six million, eight hundred and fifty six thousand, eight hundred and sixty six. And that is the number of possible spell combinations in a magic system I came up with. Which is pretty freaking insane.
  16. So, I see a lot of really cool song covers around the internet, and I wondered if you guys do too. So show off your favorites or new finds here! NO ORIGINALS ALLOWED! Here's a cool one I just found. And one of my favorites.
  17. That sounds like fun. *places stamp of approval*
  18. One thing you've got to learn is that the very fist thing you do as a Spheremorph is to ditch that mundane Grid ASAP, that's what just about everyone in this tournament has done. The Grid gives a cohesion to your style, a unifying trait to base your power around and build off of, and that's very important. What I mean by similar functionality is components that do different things but work in the same kind of way. With a Gated Fuser you could turn it into another Gated component, where the other options upgrade the Fuser aspect. There really, really should be a smiley for that. EDIT: Just so you guys know, there is a dining hall, where you guys can go get food.
  19. Dawn has come and gone, and some have done the same, others are still examining the bracket. The bracket has each position labelled with a number, and underneath the bracket is a list of names with attached numbers. Checking the list you see that your number is 22. Then scanning the bracket you can see that your first match is against someone named Thomas McGee. You also notice that the name right below yours, at position 23, is Ambrosius, who is against number 24, Veronica Amazon.
  20. Okay, I wasn't intending for you to take quite that much control, mainly when it comes to characters, but what you have so far is good. We'll roll with this. I'll save what I had in mind for something else. You've got a Gated Fuser, so the first obvious upgrade is to an Auto Fuser, but there are other options. You can extend it so you can cover more paths or even change it into a different sort of component with a similar functionality. Those are pretty cheap as far as Sphere work goes (which is still pretty expensive), but it's once you go above a Grid level that things start to get pricey. As a new Spheremorph, it's doubtful that you could afford something higher. And since you aren't bringing in any of the necessary materials yourself, that's gonna come out of your funds as well. Hmm, we'll see how any rewards pan out. Winners will probably get something, but exactly how it'll work is something I'll have to think about. Hehe, you think you have an advantage with just a Fuser, aren't you just so funny?
  21. No spoilers! I haven't played Portal 2 yet!
  22. I get the feeling that the Dor in general is sort of like Feruchemy, in that it can't be attributed to one Shard in particular, but is rather a compromise between both. The differences between Shards are going to be in how it's utilized, with AonDor, Dakhor magic, if that actually does tap into the Dor, and whatever it is that ClayShen (ClayShan? I'm not sure on that one) turns out to be.
  23. I know it's going F2P now, but I didn't know it wasn't before. Does this mean it's free to download now?
  24. The part of the dungeon known as the Living Quarters is rather extensive. The first, main room is a large oblong with many smaller, alcove type rooms attached like soap bubbles gathered together. One of these is the bar; another is a Spheresmithy, with flashes of light and sound constantly spilling out from it; and there are various shops set up selling various magic and non-magic items, and a variety of services. There are also staircases leading off of the hall in three directions, one goes to a dining hall, one to the rooms, and the last to a gym. There are fewer people here, some peruse the the shops, others sit at the bar, and still others continue conversations from before, but the majority have left to go to bed. The rooms hallway is lined with doors, twenty on each side, but most rooms remain empty, only about half have names on them, since there are very few that have come here on their own. The hall ends with another door, this goes to a small room that has a door on either side, the bathrooms. Inside can be heard the sound of running water in many forms, from sinks to showers. Burly's group is across the hall and three doors down from your group's. Four names are burned into a door five in the other direction on your side: Flip, Trip, Whip and Skip. And the door across from that is labelled Kara and Adam. Peter seems to have found a room of his own at the end of the hall, presumably after being forced out by everyone else. There's still no sign of the dark haired man with the eye Grid, he may or may not be in one of the rooms, but it's impossible to tell since you don't know his name.
  25. Team Fortress 2, and Steam in general, is made by Valve, the same guys who made Portal.
