That's a good point. And considering his power, it's likely his child would be an incredibly powerful allomancer at least, as well as likely being a feruchemist. No need to breed with another feruchemist to ensure that power. It's a good theory.

That's true. I hadn't considered him ever having a successor, but that may be a potential explanation for the left over lerasium bead he had? Perhaps he would have eventually have had a child? It's a cool thought.

I doubt he would have just given up and let himself die. He seemed a very determined man and, despite his immorality, one who was still trying to save the world. I think he would have seen that he was the best bet for humanity to survive and would have stuck around to help out. I mean, imagine what a thorn in the backside he'd be for ruin. Capable of taking on entire armies, more powerful than any of the inquisitors. Possibly even powerful enough to take on all of them (not only did he have the full powers of a mistborn and a feruchemist and thus the ability to compound, but he also did something to himself when he ascended and made himself a ridiculously strong allomancer). And either way, he likely intended to capture Ruin again, then wait out the next thousand years and repeat.

I agree, definitely a steel/steel twinborn.

As we know, TLR used compounded feruchemical atium to drastically increase his lifespan. As I've come to further understand the nature of compounding, I've begun to wonder whether he would ever have run out of age? Would he not be able to say, wear an atium ring, tap a fair amount of age from his existing atiumminds, fill said age directly into the ring, swallow the ring and burn it multiplying the amount stored, then rinse and repeat? This would theoretically give him unlimited age as long as he still had some age stored somewhere. If I've gotten anything wrong or my understanding of compounding is flawed, then please let me know. Otherwise, I welcome your thoughts.

Yeah, fair point. This only makes me realise what a killing machine a fullborn would be. They would be compounders in every metal and literally get the best out of any and all combos. No, they wouldn't be quite as powerful as TLR but there would be little that is mortal in the cosmere to stop them.

I had always percieved an A-Atium F-Steel twinborn as well nigh unbeatable. The ability to see what everyone is about to do and the mental speed to cope with it all, added to the almost bullet time effect of steel and the speed to react to anything they throw at you. You can't win against someone like that.

Worldhopper Elantrians
The Grumpy Elantrian replied to The Grumpy Elantrian's topic in Elantris and Emperor's Soul
It does indeed, thanks! -
I have been thinking about the medallions lately, and the scene between Vin and Sazed where she tried to burn one of his metalminds crossed my mind. Is it possible for an allomancer to use a medallion to compound that particular metal even though they themselves aren't feruchemists? Kinda tagging onto that, could a twinborn compound an unkeyed metalmind made by another feruchemist? Is this as obviously yes as I assume or is there something I'm missing?

Fair enough I suppose. Still a bit miffed though...

This is perhaps an insignificant matter, but why do we call it Harmonium? None of the other shards who have metals have their metal named after the shard (that I know if) but instead of the holder of the shard. i.e: Ati = Atium Leras = Lerasium Trell = Trellium So surely it would follow that rather than being called Harmonium it is called Sazium, or something similar, instead. Has Brandon said anything on this? Do we know it's called Harmonium for sure? If so, I'm annoyed at the inconsistency.

I've only recently finished Elantris and am quite interested in the Elantrian magic system and so have been developing a character for fun. However, if I wish to worldhop as said Elantrian character (who wouldn't if they could) I face the slight disadvantage of being away from Elantris and, oh I don't know, the magic not working. So the crux of my inquiry is, is it possible to somehow capture or store the Dor in some sort of vessel to carry around with you in your adventures? Would these be nicrosilminds? Spheres? Some other Thing™? I do hope it's possible, otherwise Elantrians prove to be pretty worthless worldhoppers.

So as we have seen in Elantris (and as was discussed by Raoden) it doesn't matter what an Aon is inscribed in, as long as it is inscribed correctly (Aons in stone walls, mud, etc). So, would it be possible to create armour consisting of plates inscribed with Aons which provide protection to make said armour stronger? I can't remember the Aon, but in Raoden's fight with Dilaf we see him use one that pushes back against any force equally. If this were applied to a piece of armour, no matter how hard your enemy struck the armour, it would resist with equal force, effectively making it unbreakable (unless you are a Dahkor monk or such that can remove Aons). Is this plausible? I welcome your thoughts.

Dalinar and Honour
The Grumpy Elantrian replied to The Grumpy Elantrian's topic in Stormlight Archive
Perhaps, but I doubt Brandon will allow it to stagnate and become boring. It seems unlike him to just allow super mega power without any limitations. -
So my little pet theory I have, or at least hope will be the case, is that Dalinar will eventually take up the Shard once held by Honour. Honour is dead yes, but when a Shard dies their power doesn't just disappear (unless that is what Odium did to Honour but I doubt that as honours power is still available to those on Roshar = stormlight), and so presumably someone could still accept the power of Honour. As Dalinar and the Stormfather are doing some whack things, I imagine that there is something special going on. I don't think Dalinar will become Honour but instead Unity, as he is doing more than even the Bondsmiths of old were capable, according to the Stormfather, and his face-off with Odium in OB is full of Unity stuff. Anyway, I welcome your thoughts.

Dalinar and Odium's Champion
The Grumpy Elantrian replied to The Grumpy Elantrian's topic in Stormlight Archive
Instead a battle of wills? Or of words? I mean it's certainly possible, but also not the vibe I got when reading about it. -
So we know that Dalinar will eventually have to face Odium's champion, and who that will be is not yet known. But do we know whether Dalinar himself will actually fight? Or rather appoint his own champion? Dalinar is still a capable warrior yes, particularly with stormlight to aid him, but he's getting older now. He may opt to have someone, such as Kaladin, serve as his champion against Odium's. However, Dalinar is a bondsmith and the Stormfather mentions on at least one occasion that he has the most powerful of the surges, so perhaps Dalinar has an advantage there. Even if he were to fight himself, what weapon would he use? He wouldn't have a shardblade, unless that is when the stormfather finally gives in on that matter. Perhaps he could use one of the honorblades? I believe Vyre now has Jezrien's, but if Dalinar could get hold of one of the honorblades then he would have a shard and hopefully new surges to play around with. But still, how will he face his enemy do we think? The nine shadows of Odium's champion sounds dangerously like a reference to the unmade (perhaps somehow fused into the one champion?). So even with a blade and possibly two extra surges, how could he even hope to defeat his enemy? I realise I am not very familiar with the deeper lore of these books, but that's why I'm here asking questions, right? Anyway, I welcome your thoughts.

Taln and the Heralds
The Grumpy Elantrian replied to The Grumpy Elantrian's topic in Stormlight Archive
Good point. -
What exactly are we supposed to expect of the Heralds in the coming books? I would love to see Taln come to deal with his madness in someway, be reunited with his honorblade and lead men against the fused as he once did, but I doubt that would actually happen. So what can we expect of the Heralds instead? Are they so much of a wildcard that they will hinder Dalinar's quest? Will they help out and assist the Radants? Will they turn and support Odium? (is it even possible for a Herald to do this?) Maybe they'll just exist and not do much, but I highly doubt that. Will Moash/Vyre go around and pick them off one by one? I hope this isn't the case, but who knows. I'm eager to know what you all think and if we have any hints to base our guesses on.

So I've been wondering, what exactly would a radiant bonding an honorblade entail? For one, would a radiant actually be able to bond an honourblade in the first place? Yes they can hold it without the screams but does their bond with a spren interfere here. But if they could and were to do so, then presumably they would gain the ability to use the surges associated with that honorblade. Once they have done this, would they still face the issues Szeth did with Jezrien's honorblade? Where stormlight would leak more quickly and such? Or would those things be overcome by their status as a radiant and the powers which come with that. Further, if this were possible, then how many could one person bond? Would it be possible to have a Windrunner say who then bonds all the honorblades and becomes a mega radiant? Or would the bonds interfere and get all confused? I welcome any input.

So in Kal's fight with Szeth, we saw that Syl was capable of taking many forms, namely as a sword, spear, dagger, and shield. After reading this I got the impression that a spren can take on the form of essentially any weapon for the radiant. But as I thought about this I began to wonder if it is the same for ranged weapons. I'm sure a spren could take the form of a bow, or crossbow or whatever, but if they did how exactly does it work? Does the spren act as the bow and the arrows? Or simply the bow and you have to use regular arrows? Or could you use a regular bow with your spren acting as the arrows? Obviously, the spren being both is the more useful alternative, but I'm dubious as to whether the spren could actually manage it. Anyway, I hope someone knows more about this and can help me out.

Would a feruchemist (either a soulbearer or full feruchemist) who had ended up in Roshar and bonded a spren to become a radiant, then be able to store stormlight into a nicrosilmind? That is, would they be able to store stormlight in a nicrosilmind and use that rather than carry spheres or gemstones around with them everywhere they went? Is a nicrosil mind capable of doing this or would it simply store the ability to use stormlight, not the stormlight itself?

We saw when Dalinar bonded the Stormfather that he would not have a shard blade. I wonder whether this is the case for all Bondsmiths, and whether it applies to shardplate as well. Presumably a bondsmith could still wear shardplate without any issues. Also, I always got the impression that the Stormfather refused to be his blade out of pride, is there anything actually stopping the Stormfather from becoming his shardblade? Presumably, if Dalinar could be persuasive enough then the Stormfather may be convinced to become his blade. Feel free to correct me wherever I may be wrong. I welcome your input.
