  1. So, Nightblood is basically a super op sword that we have never seen defeated and according to the Nightwatcher "can never be defeated". We also know he is fairly similar to a shardblade in the way he acts, but far more powerful. So my question is, would a regular shardblade be able to block a strike from Nightblood? Would shardplate be able to block it the way it blocks regular shardblades? Would Nightblood just consume the blade and plate (i.e. consume the investiture of the shards)? Would this result in, when Nightblood strikes a shardblade, just kill the spren that acts as your blade and so stop you from being a radiant any longer? What can this thing do? Thanks in advance for your insights.
  2. "Ishek" Ishek said, without the slightest hint of warmth entering his voice. "You are a rather pompous man aren't you?" Ishek met the man's eyes cooly, then quickly turned to the Elantrian "I like you though" To the point, always to the point. Never want to waste time with small talk, that'd be normal, and you can't be normal can you Ishek. Ishek shook his head, then turning back to Galvris "What's a channeler?"
  3. Ishek sipped his tea once it was poured for him, savouring the overly strong flavour. He ate his meal mostly in science and, in response to Laonin's tirade - does that man ever stop talking? - nodded his head slowly. "More space would certainly be convenient, not that the ash bothers me much" Ishek hesitated, then continued "What are your investitures? I like to know who I'm working with." @Karnatheon @xinoehp512 @I think I am here.
  4. "Is it wise to so hurriedly get him out of here when we just got him in?" Ishek asked, tone almost mocking. Ishek wasn't overly concerned for the mans health, more that the trip here, and the use of pewter, was a waste. "Besides, we can't afford for him to relapse on us and we have to come back here anyway." @Karnatheon @I think I am here. @xinoehp512
  5. Ishek, sitting in a relaxed posture on one of those dastedly uncomfortable hospital chairs, regarded Laonin as he approached. "I wanted to help you" he replied tersely to the older mans question. Why can't you just be nice. You don't need to say it like that, why not say 'I was hoping I could help you rebuild the world with sunshine and rainbows and love for everyone!'? Oh nevermind, I'm not made for people. "I'm a feruchemist. I can provide the knowledge in my copperminds to assist you and I likely can stop others from killing you." Ishek wasn't sure why people always beat around the bush when talking about things, he always found it easier to say what you want and want what you say. He waited for a reply from the old man. @Karnatheon
  6. Ishek's face remained expressionless. "Perhaps we should take him to a doctor, I have no expreience with this." Ishek carefully cradled the man in his arms and lifted him with ease, his loose robes becoming a bit tighter with his sudden bulk. "Where cam we find one?" He asked, glancing to Alask to include him in the request. @Karnatheon @I think I am here. @xinoehp512
  7. The man who answered the door rushed past Ishek, shocked by the sight of the collapsed man. An older man from inside the forge, presumably the Man who Fixed, scurried out and knelt by the injured man. After yelling at him and the other man standing neaby in a worried fluster, he rushed back inside to fetch something. That man needs a drink. Ishek approached the groaning man and checked his vitals. I should have stored more medical guides in my copperminds, I've know idea what's going on here. Ishek propped the man on his side so he wouldn't choke on his own saliva and, once the older man rushed back out with a vial, administered the drug to the man. Rocking back onto his knees, Ishek regarded the other two men and decided the bearded man who got the vial to be the Man who Fixed. He had an air to him. A homely, caring aura. He nodded his head to the man. "You're the infamous Man who Fixed I presume? I'm Ishek." Surely he can spot a feruchemist when he sees one. The jewelery should make that obvious. "I've been looking for you."
  8. Ishek wandered through the streets of the now deatitute excuse for a city. He hadn't been here long, as a worldhopper he had found his way to Alleycity after leaving Scadrial, but he had heard of the cities former glory. It hadn't taken long however, to learn of the conflict that still persisted in the city, particularly the guilds. I suppose I should steer clear of them for now, they don't seem the welcoming type. He continued on, taking in the desolation around him, and saw evidence of life everywhere. If you can call it life. He was out here because, frankly, he had nowhere else to go. At least he had heard there was a good samaritan out here helping rebuild the city out of the purity and graciousness of his heart. Or something like that. Perhaps he would welcome a bitter traveller. It was worth a try at least. He followed the directions given to him, tapping his coppermind to hear them as clear as when he first recieved them from that withered waste of a woman living on the streeys. He eventually found his way there, a small building that seemed to fit the description of the residence of The Man who Fixed. The forge didn't seem to be blazing, but a gentle light from the window told of the life inside. Approaching the door, Ishek wrapped his knuckles firmly against the aged wood of the door. Old wood? Wasn't this place meant to be newly repaired? He knocked again, waiting expectantly. @Karnatheon @I think I am here.
  9. So we know that a normal shardblade will not appear as such in shadesmar, as it will instead appear as the spren which becomes the blade in the physical realm. We also see that Vivvennas shardblade does appear in the cognitive realm because it is not a spren. So then what about honorblades? As far as I'm aware, the honorblades aren't spren, but instead some other magical stuff™. So I ask, would an honorblade be usable in the cognitive realm?
  10. The thing is, we aren't saying to use the Aon on the entire set of armour, but instead if you could somehow use modifiers to have each plate of the armour have its own forcefield shaped to fit it. That way, as each plate moves individually then it should move with it. I see this being possible because if it stopped all movement then as soon as Raoden cast it shouldn't Sel have stopped orbiting its star and cause chaos? It was essentially attached to the ground but still moved through space on Sel, so essentially the same thing is being suggested here but on plates of steel not a planet.
  11. I think it was more that steel and iron make blue lines appear around you, so my perception of magic things that only appear to the allomancer were blue, and so by extension the atium shadows would be too.
  12. So, when Sazed revived Spook he fixed up his savantism and made him a mistborn. Do we know whether Spook was made as a regular mistborn, or was he more like Elend and a lerasium strength mistborn since he got his power directly from harmony? Thanks in advance for your input.
  13. We know that awakeners effect the colours in the world around them. The more breath, the more of an effect. However, we know Vasher is an awakener yet the colour around him whenever we see him in Roshar seems unchanged. Is this because the effect on colours is only observed on Nalthis? Or is Vasher doing something else here? Thanks in advance for your input.
  14. Is it possible to awaken aluminium? We know it's really difficult to awaken metal, so would aluminium be even harder to awake as it is essentially 'dead' and devoid of investiture. Is it perhaps even impossible to awaken aluminium for that same fact? Or is aluminium instead more willing to awaken as if it craves investiture? Thanks in advance for your input.
  15. So, the lifeless in warbreaker are obviously very effective soldiers, but could you enhance them with hemalurgy? Since hemalurgy essentially uses the spike to staple a patch of soul onto another, would the same be able to happen to a lifeless since their soul is seemingly so temporary (being simply another's breath)? Further, could you spike a lifeless for their ability to not need food or sustenance? Thanks in advance.
  16. That's a benefit of Dakhor over AonDor then. But do we have any confirmation that this is the way Dakhor works?
  17. Indeed he did. But he didn't seem to have to draw an Aon or anything similar. So does that mean that Dakhor doesn't require AonDor like drawings or is it that it can do more than just that?
  18. We saw, in Elantris, the Dakhor monks with twisted bones and bodies due to the warping resultant of their magic. I assumed that the symbols twisted in their bones were the Dakhor equivalent to Aons, but we saw very little of their magic aside from it's enhancement to the Dakhor monks' bodies and their ability to counter or negate Aons. Do we know whether there is more to Dakhor magic than this? Is one able to create magic similar to AonDor as the Elantrians can? Or is it a more passive application of the Dor? Thanks in advance for your input.
  19. Indeed. If this were to happen, do you think the seons would figure it out themselves or would it take some interactions with some radiants to use them as a model? And then even if they do form a similar bond, would it grant them the equivilent of surges or would they simply just use AonDor?
  20. I always tend to imagine atium shadows as faint blue images rather than simple translucent copies (no idea why, I guess my mind thought 'hey it's magic lets make it blue').
  21. Since AonDor is essentially just a reprogamming system, then would it be possible to create blades similar to awakened blades like vivenna's shardblade or nightblood?
  22. That would be really awesome. And considering the fact that most elantrians have a seon, they would become even more overpowered.
  23. I've been thinking a bit more and thought I'd revisit this. If one were to make this armour, how effective would it be against a shardblade/awakened blade? From what we know of the aon, it pushes against any applied force with equal force. So then would a shardblade be able to cut through it? Would it simply push against the shardblade? Would it break under a few hits like a half shard? Perhaps it would be able to effectively stop the shardblade and thus be a potential equal to shardplate in effectiveness. Again, I'm not really sure how this would work but I hope one of you do.
  24. So what can AonDor really do? It seems to be incredibly versatile, but we only really saw a few aons properly used in the books. I'm pretty sure I recall reading off handed remarks of seeing elantrians flying around in Elantris, is this just the people of Kae thinking up things or is there an aon which grants flight? I feel that sadly, the case is simply that we haven't seen enough of AonDor or Elantris. I welcome any input.
  25. Oh I don't know, surely there are some people who may deserve a few grey limbs...
