Althea nodded and then looked back into the room, to those that had arrived for the expedition. If she left the Ghostbloods, if they let her leave without terminating her, that was, she could go to Max and do - nothing. The thought was strange, almost uncomfotably so. She was used to her days being full of work, of things she needed to take care of. To leave it all behind, no she had decided against that. Maybe she could change something, do something for the city, when she continued where she was. "Why are you here?" She asked and then remembered her earlier words about controlling people with their dreams. Karin wasn't here to chase a dream, she doubted that somehow. Still she hoped that Karin didn't take the question as an attempt to manipulate her.
-
"No." Althea accepted the change easily. She had to, otherwise their conversation would leave one of them in a position where they had to talk about secrets, or about information too personal too share. And she enjoyed it too much to end it like that. "I was born on Roshar. The Ghostbloods brought me here to fill their ranks after the Seven-Day-War. They educated me, took gave me a place to live." She spread her hands slightly. "And here I am, leading the one organization that offered me a chance." "This world is my home. I returned to Roshar, but it's not where I belong and I have nobody left there either."

Sagitta looked up, saw him hold his ledger in his hand, and looked to the ground embarrassed that he had noticed, that he was writing this down. "Sorry." she said quietly. "Just a bit too much the last days." Forcing herself to concentrate on his question she gestured to the ground on the other side of her, asked him as well to sit down. "They were interested in our military. Our command structure. How many men we have, how my officers were called, how our badges looked like. Everything. Passphrases, typical order when we prepare for a battle, how the different units are named." she forced herself to smile at him, "The only thing that kept me sane was my instinct. At least until they realized what it was. Then they changed methods." "In the end my leg saved me. I was delirious, and they left me one morning to die." A tired smile on her face she looked at him. "Which I didn't. Instead I recovered enough to get to your base. The rest you know."

Mike looked at the lights. They were shiny, blinking slowly and he smiled. "That's impressive. Did you write the programm controlling them as well?" He asked idly and took a deep breath. Wes was nervous, Fox could smell it on him, but for once it was easy to push Fox aside to stay in the present. They were here, and they were together. That was a good sign. It had to be. Maybe he should have returned earlier, stayed with his friends, talked to them. Maybe running away had been a mistake.

Shapeshifter. That explained a lot. The woman she had met, most likely she was something like an alter ego, a different form. For the moment she let the topic aside, there was no need to tell everybody in the room about Karin's powers, or in case the woman herself didn't know to further confuse her. Or she was wrong, in that case she was sparing herself an embarresing situation. "Were you born on earth?" She asked instead, changed the topic to something easier.

Surprised Althea's eyes widened a fraction when she looked at Karin again, then she inclined her head apologetically. "I am sorry, I assumed you know. I apologize for being rude. Half the room is observing me and my actions, so I figured it was common knowledge." And besides I thought you were someone else. "I am Althea Tenira, an Elsecaller and member of the Ghostblood Triarchy." She introduced herself completely, then paused and thought about something else she could tell safely, that Karin could find out easily if she did some research on her person. "I spend years studying investiture. I know, it's nothing compared to the knowledge the DA has, but it's something I know my way around." Her eyes rested on Karin for a moment, then she easily played the question back to her. "What about you?"

Sagitta moved when she heard steps, was still wiping her face clean when Zura walked around the corner. She looked up, sat up again, and leaned against the carriage. "I spent the last weeks, maybe months as a prisoner." She explained tonelessly, ashamed of her tears. If Zura had heard her, Price had aswell. Sounds carried at night. "They took me from the battlefield, kept me chained the whole time. They asked questions, so many questions, and I -" Shaking her head she stopped, rubbed her head tiredly. "Of course they did. I was but a prisoner of the enemy. Some things are the same everywhere. They left me to die a few days ago, somewhere in the wilds." "I am sorry. It is none of your concern." She fell silent, saw nothing the woman had brought her, but didn't want to ask. Instead she fell silent, but moved a bit, a silent offer to sit down as well.

So I spend some time reading about this topic. If we want to leave the state out of it, if will be difficult to finance all of it, not without haveing the workers pay a part of it as well. Basically we could aim for some split system, like everybody throws some money into a pot and we use that to pay for those injured. Half of what they would have to pay comes from the employees, the other half from the employers. We also have to work out details what counts as injury. Loosing a limb, or having a cold. And I doubt we can have some general guidelines, we need to have a medic/ healer (whatever) look at each injury/ illness to guess how long they are ill. In germany it's six weeks in general, then you're off the payroll of your employer and health insurance kicks in and continue your pay at 60%. (just because it's a number I know, as we don't have a health insurance it's most likely irrelevant) So maybe we should start easy and say that at first we focus on those unable to work anymore (e.g. lost limb/ death). In that case they receive another x months full pay or the double number of months half pay. What we have to keep in mind is, that without some kind of insurance system (what ever it's called) nobody will be ably to pay for several workers that aren't productive anymore for a longer time. So if we want to avoid that monster, we most likely end up with a shorter duration. But then, if we can cover the time, until they at least can move again/ their wounds are healed, then we maybe helped a bit. In the end we have to face the fact, the without a larger pot of money that is regularly refilled, we have no chance to sustain a larger number of persons unable to work for a useful length of time. Additionally: when Bismarck introduced the first social laws/ insurances back at the end of the 19th century he faced the following problems: he created a split system, with both sides contributing, but he only offered 40% of the the pay to sustain the workers. As wages were already low, they couldn't live by the 40%. In the end the system was seen as an attempt to buy their votes, and not as something benefical. Whatever we do, we might need to take that into account as well. TL,DR: it's way more difficult than I thought. Sorry for the long post.

Temeria considered his words. It was a good offer. To live with some kind of Returned? Work for him. She could learn her, find a place for herself in this world. And yet she hesitated. It was a good offer, but she doubted she could really fullfill that role. "Thank you." She started slowly and then sighed, spread her hands slightly. "I'll be honest with you. I am just a soldier. No Radiant and I don't have breath, I assume that's what you mean by investiture. I doubt I can discern most threats in time, and facing a Radiant with a Shardblade?" she gave a short, bitte laugh, "I have no way to do that." "It's a great offer, and I am inclined to agree, but I'm not sure if I can fulfill that role. I know close to nothing about this world, but I suspect that here is another kind of magic, I never even saw before. I can't stop something I don't understand. If some decide to start a brawl, I'm perfect, I can stop that. I have to admit I like a good brawl now and then. But if they walk in with blade and plate - I can't." She looked at him for a moment, then leaned back. "It's up to you. If you take the time, or know someone to give me a rundown about what I might face - I am willing to learn. I haven't been here for a whole day." "I worked as a guard after I left the army, so I know about the job, what it means. Just know that there are many things I will have a hard time to stop."

Alright! Axe estimation isn't that far away from my own. He's far over the 150 points. To really nail down his points I would need some additional information like how strong is paranoia is, or how is character traits changes his daily actions. Most likely I will substract less than Axe did, and no points for his unwillingness to advance with his bond. the additional power of the next oath has to be pain in points, so I can't substract anything for a power never paid. Regarding the mechanical limbs: how strong are they and which advantages do they offer? But in general he is too strong. I doesn't put her over the point limit, I checked. Bendalloy is a bit more expensive, but she is still fine. Alright thx! =========== @MacThorstenson Could you add Groot (Ele) to Era 4, and change Rushu's character Shara into a Bendalloy misting? And add Lunamor's character Lily to Era 4? Thanks a lot.

Lena reached out for the ring, slid it over to table to herself and then pocketed it. Unsealed tinmind. She had no idea how to tap it, but that was something she could figure out. Or she used it for another trade. You never knew when it came in handy. "We have a deal." She took another sip of her wine, sorted her thoughts, the romors she had heard. "Buildings vanish now and then. They are there one morning, gone the next. At first I thought they were simply crashing down without anybody noticing or saying something. That's entirely possible in the poorer parts of the city. But it's not. One of them was restored just the day before, and then it vanished completely. What happened to the inhabitants-" she shrugged indicating, that she neither knew nor really cared, "nobody has seen them afterwards, but I can't tell you if they left of vanished as well." Leaning back she looked at Lita's face at the dark little smile, noticed how her fair hung around her face, how she held herself. They had met in a tavern, back then Lita had been a different person. "It's not only buildings, smaller things as well of course. A piece of fence here, a stone there. Admist all that rubble, I doubt that everything that vanishes is noticed. There seems to be no pattern and I don't think anybody does something with it. Most likely it's only side effects." Swalloing the last bit of her wine she looked up when Hydreis neared their table and stopped speaking. Her smile stayed on her face, but her eyes turned cold at the disruption. "Another wine please, port this time." @Oduim's Chmapion @ZincAboutIt

Lena sipped her wine again, then placed the glass back on the wood and looked at it for a moment. She looked over at Lita, at her hair, her eyes. There was something dark sleeping in that beautiful face, and she had to lie if she denied that it didn't attracted her. It was rare to find someone that care as much about longterm sweet relationship as she did. Not at all. Or someone with the same amount of scruples. None. "I couldn't close my generous heart for some gracious and benevolent being as you are." She replied in mock earnesty and then thought about Lita's questions. She had heard some rumors, mostly by those coming to the forge to ask for advice or help. The place was perfect to collect information, and now she had access to main water supply of that quarter as well. She only needed to figure out which poison she would throw into that water first. Add to that the rumors some of her clients had told her, she had a bunch of stories that overlapped enough to be considered at least partially true. "I have a few things that might be interesting for you." Leaning slightly towards Lita she lifted a hand, traced the rim of her wine glass, without looking away from Lita's face. "The only question is, how do you like to pay?"

Lena laughed and took the obsidian knife. It was dark and would fit perfectly into her boot. She stowed it away, watched Hydreis take the poison, wondered if the woman really had listened to her instructions. "Thank you. It's a pleasure doring business with you." Her eyes moved downwards again and she winked at Hydreis. Maybe another time, but she'd remember her. Turning on her stool she shifted her weight and looked at the woman that had entered the bar. It had been a few day, maybe a week, maybe more, Lena didn't really count, since they'd met the last time. Slowly she slid the glass of port over to Lita and tilted her head to the side. "That mylady, is totally up to you." She continued to smile and indicated a small playfull bow with her head.

Lena eyed the port and tasted it quickly. When she considered it save, she placed it next to her and turned her attention to Hydreis again. "I'm Lena. You can always ask around in the city, especially in the area around the Forge, if you're looking for me. Red hair and Lena. People know me. And who are you?" She carefully took our a syringe and pushed it through the cap of the bottle, then withdrew some of the poison. Pushing it into a smaller vial she handed it over to the woman. "Here you are. I'd like to have a small knife, that I can hide in my boot. And I'll come back for the other two in a while or send someone. They will be a present." For the first time since she entered the tavern her face became earnest. "That's enough to securely kill at least four. More when they are lightweight, or when you allow the poison some time. Don't touch it with out hands. Don't drink it. Ideally you don't have any contact with it at all." It wasn't as deadly when you drunk it, but she left these details away for now. "If you want to, I can give you the syringe as well, to withdraw it, but make sure you never accicently prick yourself. If you do, call for a healer and pray."

Temeria noted how he changed the topic, away from home, away from the city. His mistakes. She thought about his words for a moment, and then inclined her head, let the topic slide aside. Obviously it wasn't something he wanted to talk about. She could respect that, had her own demons, had rarely met someone with some baggage to carry around. "I don't know." She told him honestly and shot him a quick smile. "I need to find some work and a place to stay. And if I look around the city, it seems like especially the last one is hard to find. It depends on how much you charge I guess. Once I can't afford it anymore..." I'm homeless. She finished the sentence in her head. Shrugging the prospect off the focused on the present again. It never helped to worry too much about the future. It came as it came and you had to deal with it. Unneccessary worrying never helped anybody.
