I really hope you are right. I trust Brandon to write the whole ultimate antagonist Plot, but I enjoy that there isn't the typical hero/Villain. Every character has his/her ein motivations and reason and that leads to a grey picture instead of a black/white one. And imo that makes his books so interesting (next to the whole cosmere Plot and the Secrets ...)

Kind of, but we have to keep in mind that Sazed has changed between era1 and era2 as @Rhapsody pointed out. So his decision to act and "help" doesn't necessary mean he is helping. What I want to say, is that I think he follows his own Agenda, and that involved sending the kandra, but maybe next time he'll act against our hero, as that fits his agenda better. His personality definitly changed a bit and I expect it to continue changing between era2 and era3. Additional to the shard's influence on your personality we shouldn't discount the effect power and a greater viewpoint can have. Imo not as strong as a shard, but definitly existing.

Adolin? (But there are a lot of characters that could be considered honorable) -
You Know You're a Sanderfan When...
Sorana replied to Shardbearer's topic in General Brandon Discussion
That's a really good advice. You can burn a lot of money if you want to have the newest cards. You can find other players at specialized game stores, but some of them will have very expensive decks that will be hard to defeat . But some won't so that could be worth a try. When you preorder every new book as soon as possible, even when it's still more than a year away... -
Yeah it would be. With both their ressources and knowledge combined they could become a force overpowering the others. They would complement each other really well. But aside from the diagram I like all the secret societies. They are another piece of power added to the world and their consequences and influence are hard to estimate right now. I like the fact that they are so different from each other, and I'm really excited to see what will happen to/ because of them. In one of my pen and Paper Groups we're also working on creating a secret society, Ist's mostly ideas right now, but we have a plan and weil see how it works out.

Hi @Mraize, fitting, that the questions comes from you But I have to disappoint you, it's not the Ghostbloods. My favourite secret society is the diagram. I love the diagram as a construct, collecting Taravangians ideas (if you can call it like that) as a genius. Just imagine how much faith or trust in someone you have to have to follow something like that. You have to be really convinced doing the right thing, and to a certin degree a bit carziness help for sure. The wohle concept behind fascinates me, so I'll go with them.

I can see why you like the idea of the Lifebrother and the Sibling being connected, that could make for some really interessing consequences. Thinking about the situation in which the Lifebrother was mentioned, that yould open a few more doors. I'll have to think about it for a while But in the end we don't have enough information on both of them (especially on the Lifebrother) to really asses this theory. I'm really excited to see what Brandon will make of the Sibling...

You Know You're a Sanderfan When...

When your thinking about buying another Elantris/ Mistborn Era 1 as your original books are really worn down from reading and rereading and you don't want to loose them completely... -
Maybe your right, but I still didn't like TLJ. The first three Stars Wars movies (meaning 4-6) still are the best in my opinion. I found it really hard to read the wheel of time... I started several times and always put the books away. I simply didn't get the feeling for characters or the world. The setting was interessing, but it didn't grab me. Until it got known that Brandon will finish them. Then I forced me to read them, and I still didn't like them a lot... I like a lot of disney's movies like Frozen, or Epic or Vayanna. I love the way they take up a problem, make a great movie and find a solution. And Let it go is a good song.

Awakening - Object, Command, Effect - Game
Sorana replied to ScarletSabre's topic in General Brandon Discussion
The quilt awakes, wraps around your upper body, hauls you through the next window and out in the air. It's wings beat a steady rhythm and they transport you higher and higher. When you want to change direction they do it, letting you fly whereever you want to. It takes you a while to discover the moths sitting on the quilt, as your busy looking at the countryside, enjoying the feeling to fly. The moment you see them you tell your quilt to take you down and it does slowly, too slowly. For an agonizing moment you think you will crash somewhere, break every bone in your body, but then the fall is unexpectly short and you land in the gutter, next to your quilt with holes and see an strange woman I want to awaken our tent (10x6 m) with the command "upon my command build up yourself" -

@Rhapsody Of course! Can't let you walk around without one -
This is amazing. If there is a possibility to help just say it!

Thanks for the WoBs. I'm really looking forward to reading about their interaction(s). I like them both together a lot.

I really hope that the whole Shallan can't decide between Kaladin and Adolin is more or less over. Of course Veil will still take a good look at Kaladin and yes, she can (and maybe should) question herself about her decision. But I really hope she will stick with it and the big problem is over. I see how important it was for Shallan to think about both of them and question their viewpoint and decide witch way to go - for me Kaladin and Adolin were like symbols for her crossroads. But now she decided and can move forward. There's so much happening I personally don't need every Shallan chapter being about the two men with the consequences that has on both of them. Don't get me wrong I do like an interesting romance, but I feel like she should fokus on making things work with Adolin. Back to Adolin. Of course everybody can be broken, but I think it highly unlikely that he will leave everybody behind and become Odium's Champion. He seems to loyal for that. Even if he is broken e.g. for finding out what happend to his mother, I think he'll be able to pull it back together, maybe with a little help by a then better Shallan?

[OB] Okay, so who exactly had the cold?
Sorana replied to Toaster Retribution's topic in Stormlight Archive
Wow. That's something I didn't even think about die a Minute. But after reading your posts I think it most likely that all of them were ill without knowing. -
I voted for the elsecallers because in my opinion a war between the KR would be so devastating that it's more a matter of surviving than of winning. With soulcasting they have the possibility to produce food and change the environment to their advantage. With elsecalling they could try to escape the worst battles. If you think about a battle then the dustbringers, skybreakers or windrunners stand a way better chance (as explained above several times), but imo a "Hide and look who's left" tactics could be better in the longterm. Or to make a deal with one of them: "food vs protection". But in the end, as it was already pointed out, such a war would only create loosers (probably except hoid).

Ideals of everyday people as Radiants
Sorana replied to The Harlem Worldhoppers's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Thank you for the suggestion. It's definitiv clearer, so I changed my post. I want to express that there will always be a moment when you habe to put your dice/ clothes away and return to your real live. We only have one right now even if you have several rpg characters in the end the real life should come first. And that' s not always easy. I like that one. If there really was such an order worldwide life in forums would be a lot more relaxed. -
They are amazing. Not in the cosmere, but non the less amazing. Full of interessting characters and a lot of surprises.

Elantris was the first book of Sanderson I've read and it will always have a special place in my heart. I reread it several times and I will reread again sometime soon. It is my favourite work of him (so far), but I have to admit that it wasn't as good as his later works. Of course he developped the way he writes a lot over the last years, and his characters got more depth, but that's only natural and doesn't make Elantris less than it is. So I think I'm with you =)

Just finished Elantris, Need to Re-Read it?
Sorana replied to Habanero's topic in Elantris and Emperor's Soul
If you've read his books only once, then I can recommend you to read them again after you got a bit of a feeling for the whole Cosmere Plot behind them. Suddenly there are some sentences that get an whole new meaning or a chapter gets another Fokus and you're like "oh that happens there, now I understand what that really means" -
Same here. At the beginning I found it hard reading her chapters, but at the end I looked forward to them. The way she evolved was great and I love the person she was at the end of the book. So I'll go with Vivenna, as for me she changed the most and was all in all the most interessting character to read about. With my second favourite one I also go with the sword - sorry Siri/ Lightsong you come third.

Ideals of everyday people as Radiants
Sorana replied to The Harlem Worldhoppers's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Order of the roleplayer 1st ideal: Cooperation before Egoism, Acting out before dice rolling, life before the game 2nd ideal: I will respect my GM's decisions, even when I don't like them. 3rd ideal: I will accept that my character can't be the hero in every quest. 4th ideal: I will divide things happening in game from those outside the game. 5th ideal: Having fun is more important than following each rule to the word. Note: real life before imagination - I'm not that happy with the wording, but couldn't think of anything better. If there are any ideas I'd be happy to hear them. -
Characters you didn't care for at first but now love?
Sorana replied to Xero stormz's topic in Cosmere Discussion
For me it was Elend. At the beginning I found him an annoying brat, but when you got to know hin better that changed. And Vivenna, as mentioned before. I really liked reading her povs at the end of Warbreaker.
