"How high as we can. The important ones are always as high as possible." She stepped into the elevator and looked at the buttons. Their host hadn't used a card for authorisation, so they would have to try out where they had access.

"She's called Damaya. Was left here after the war. Partially grew up on the streets, then with some merchants. Left for the other side of the world years ago." Althea sighed. "Would you... talk to her?"

"So we're shribg our sorry stories now?" Lizanne flinched when a stone hit the ground above them. It wouldn't take long until the tower had fallen down completely. "I was captured by traders as a child. Grew up a slave. Escaped. That's the short version."

"What if I'm wrong? What if she only looks like her? I never found the courage to talk to her before and now she shows up and -" She shook her head, then tried to explain. "She looks like my sister."

Lizanne laughed bitterly. "I escaped and I survived. Few manage. I am no easy prey, whoever tries to take me down, I will try to kill with everything I have."

Althea followed them, grabbed her bag, gloves and sunscreen. It was dark outside, but she didn't know how long it would take them. She made sure her spheres were glowing and pulled on a jacket. "Let's go."

"Yes. She was there, she was no illusion, no trick of my mind?" She clung to his arm, looked back over her shoulder. "She was dead." Her voice broke and she shook her head. "That can't be true."

Althea smiled, nodded. She felt so safe in his arms, so loved and protected. His thumb moved over her cheek and she nodded again, wished she could close her eyes, shut out the world and simply be with him, stay in his embrace with nothing to worry about. But it wasn't them, they were who they were, and none of them would let the world fall to pieces without trying to do something. It was one of the things she loved about Max. "I know. We're impolite." She kissed him again and then stepped back.

"There is. Up, down? I have no idea of the layout of this building."

Lena shrugged as well. "You want to go? Or back to the large hall, or continue to look around?"

"Yes." Lizanne leaned against the wall and pulled up the leg of her pant. Crude scars covered her leg, told a tale of an old injury that hadn't healed properly. "I broke my leg a few years ago. I guess I can be happy to be able to walk at all." She let the pant leg fall down again, covering the scars.

She'd been here a few times during the last year, with Max of course. He was talking to a woman, a traveller as it looked, and she ignored her, until she saw her face. She grabbed Max arm, but didn't stop until they were inside. "Tell me you saw her. Her face, her hair?" @I think I am here.

"I promise. Of course I do." She remembered too well how it felt to loose him, alone, desperate. If she could she would never have him experience the same. Even if it meant - she swallowed, looked to the ground. "We need to go." She told him, but didn't move yet, stole another moment with him.

"No. You are one of the few who talks to me about how I look. Most just skip that part." She replied, her hands holding on to his, unwilling to let go of him, still feeling his lips on hers. Devaan was waiting, but right now she'd given a lot for a possibility to have a few more minutes for themselves. "Promise me you'll try to survive. I need you. I can't loose you again." Her grip on his hands turned almost painful. She knew that he had no influence on what would happen, no more than she had anyway.

Lena looked to Alask, tried to discern if he wanted to stop them or not. She didn't really care. If the powerful ones killed themselves, it was easier for people like her.

Lizanne heard a groaning noise. "The tower. It's collapsing. We should get to the side, hope that the ceiling stops it." She pointed towards one direction and started to limp over there as fast as she could, cursing herself that she had given the crutch away. Althea laughed and turned around, observed him walk over to her. He was breathtaking, the way he moved, how he looked at her with his dark eyes. There was this self-confidence underlying his movements, a strength she had come to rely on. She wrapped an arm around him, pulled him close, lifted her other hand to his face, his hair. "I love you." She told him and then heard Devaan stand up. "Agreed. I'm going to need to pick up some wakefulness stores while we're out. Then I'll be more alert and helpful." "Sounds good! We're coming." She replied a bit louder and lifted her lips to Max, kissed him softly.

Lena looked at woman, wondered what kind of laws she meant. But Alask was opposing her, stood his ground, and so she would as well. She would stick to his side for the moment. Her hand left the bottle and closed around a bag. Maybe that one would work better, given that they were in a closed room. "I feel like you're looking for power. You decide what is in balance and what isn't. You are god in that society you aim for. That's just another reasoning to elevate yourself to a leading position."

Maybe save it, for a dangerous situation. Depends on your ressources. Smiling she added. But you could come into the kitchen and kiss me before we rush into danger again. Because you never knew if they both would come back again.

"I want to be against you." Then she realized he had joked and smiled. "No, we'll have two teams. That's only fair. But no doubt, you could handle all of us."

Lena folliwed the exchange, followed Alask to the side of the room, her hand closing around a bottle. "So you don't have investiture?" She asked the woman.
