Does anyone with a society near mine have an emphasis in agriculture? Pastoralists tend to barter with agriculturalists for grain and such and I'm wondering if any of the existing cultures would fit that group.

Parts 3 and 4 as well as Meran Prayer tablets. Part 3: The Split Part 4: Early Descendants and First Mirani War A portion of a clay tablet on which the Meran did write prayers: Praise Marino, All-Father, for courage. Praise Meran, First-Father, for the land and for justice. Praise Reli, All-Mother, for family. Praise Sina, Early-Mother, for fertility and love. Bless us not to be angry as Niran. Bless us not to be weak as Eloa. Bless the herds with protection and strong harvests.

People you wouldn't want to meet in a dark alley
Mailliw73 replied to Voidus's topic in The Alleyverse
Mailliw pops into the alley of darkness, shardblades in hand. Upon seeing the insanity lurking here, he leaves to petition the God Beyond to partition the Alley off from the rest of the worlds. -

The Kashora'an Desert maybe, to fit Venture's suggestion. Thanks! Mek, I do that too. Meran came from the word for otter in another language(though I forgot which one.) and Sarmu came from the Estonian word for otter.

Sorry for the double post, but here's the entirety of part one. Luti, she being a Meran historian of unequaled fame in the current times, composed a compilation of documents relating the history of the Mirani cultures. These are excerpts from that compilation. * Part 1: Origins

I wrote a research paper on those a year ago. Specifically, Zulu, Xhosa, and another that I can't remember off the top of my head. Started with "Ng" if I remember right.

Part of that was me retroactively deciding that their culture focuses on the present and doesn't even have a future tense. So their past is made almost present with the use of "did catch". I just didn't fix everything. :/

she'd have to make it to his desk first and he would not let her get that close. She's lucky he was too occupied with Funtimes to notice her.

Voidgaze crossed her arms, obviously annoyed with Altermind. “I can’t really disagree that Corpsemaker is a threat but does that really make it okay that we are ultimately helping them? I mean I’m not really worried about getting revenge on them or anything but more about what kind of damage they are going to cause," she complained. Altermind replied, "Voidgaze, this is my city. This is your city and it is mine and I do not intend to let it be destroyed. Portland is a bastion of intelligence and strength for the rest of the west, if not the rest of the nation. So don't worry, we will protect it. Is that i-" Cutting him off, an abomination of sparkles burst through the door, her belligerence for decorum and respect blatant. "Escorted her here, sir," a border captain said. "I was unable to obtain satisfactory answers for you, but—" Funtimes, who never deserved her title of Doctor, wrapped herself around the soldier, laughing maniacally, interrupting his stately manner. "You did amazingly, Sargent Penguinhands." Sergeant what? His captain quickly corrected her with his perfectly regular name, but Funtimes had changed his standard-issue glove to include an image of a penguin. The captain gave up his arguing, smarter than the average person. Funtimes was difficult to reason with. "Back to duty now, sir." He saluted, penguin glove hand in the air, and left. Funtimes draped herself over Altermind's desk, disturbing his papers and plans, before Altermind could help the guard. Whining, she began yelling, "I just don't know what to do! I came all this way, and I brought all my friends, but now I don't even know how to let Lighty Lightwards know where I am! He must be worried sick and I won't just leave before I make you all the carpet bombs you wanted!" "Please, Altermindykins!" She pushed with her heels, moving an inch or so closer and nudging the paperwork with her shoulders. "I simply must tell Lighty Lightwards where I am before he worries and turns all of the city's pumpkins into carriages!" What the Calamity was this insanity personified creature talking about? He got the gist of her request, but was grateful for the Traveler's explanation. "Can she borrow your mobile?" he asked. "Just for a minute." Altermind stepped away from his illusion silently, getting the sparkles out of his face and made the hallucination speak. "I'll do one better. Here's your own, Funtimes. He waved his scribe over and gave the asylum-exploding woman her own mobile. "Tell Captain Cartwright to report to the Supply Station for new gloves before he returns to his post," Altermind quietly ordered his scribe. She rushed out to do his bidding.

So, I have the first, small part of the worldbuilding and lore around the Mirani peoples ready, but before I finish writing it in the current style, I'd like to know if you guys like this style or not. It takes a bit more effort than regular writing, so I'd rather not spend more time on it if you guys would rather me just explain it simply. Anyways, here it is:

That puts you close to the Niran part of the Mirani population, which will be detailed more in a post hopefully that will be up by tonight. Depending on how your people's culture is, there may be the opportunity to engage in a lot of border scuffles. The Niran are much more likely to fight than the Meran(up in the forests) are, due to their constant exposure to yellow lumuoles and general disposition. I was thinking of smooth beaches, but some rockiness would be good in the steppes. How about the further inland you go, towards your population, the rockier the beaches get, and the further west you go, the sandier and smoother they are? Twi, I hadn't thought of much of the ocean fauna except for fish. If anyone further north than Twi wants to design creatures for the warmer seas, go for it. I'll incorporate them however.
