  1. Sounds good. Well, I'm more looking for people to trade with the Meran and you'd be fighting the Niran. The Meran would not mind doing business with their enemy's enemy.
  2. That'd work perfectly if you want to do it.
  3. So, is my area between the orange and blue in the north part of the south continent? The shapes look different.
  4. Perfect! Would the Dromeans trade metal tools for plant food or are they completely carnivorous? I'm thinking that my people would be a bit of a specialty in the south, having plants because of their focus on cultivating with their red lumuoles and they use the plants to trade to cultures near them in the polar areas. Okay, that sounds good to me. Gwslow, Warden, Honey Badger, or even Edgedancer: do any of your societies fit the spot of trading plants to the Mirani people in exchange for Sarmu/snuffel milk and meat?
  5. That's great Kobold! I'm excited to see the rest of the info on the Ice Kin. So, if my people weren't metalworkers, it would be fine? Or would the Dromeans have fought them when they came south? I think I'm leaning towards them not being metalworkers if that'll fit.
  6. Like all your other stuff, this is awesome!
  7. Pretty good, but can it be more of the eastern blue instead of the purple? So if it was just swing over a bit to the right.
  8. Most of mine are around 22-28. I think 24 is actually fairly common in mine.
  9. His profile says 24, apparently. I tend to forget most of my characters' exact ages. But yeah, mid-20s.
  10. Erikell and Vinid, should we take this lack of rebuttal as a willing defeat?
  11. Storm you, Calamity! Why couldn't Milton and Jade meet without corruption ruining them?
  12. Agreed. Altermind wasn't as cruel and judgmental before Calamity as well. He was still somewhat judgmental, but it was only mentally and to much less of a degree. Actually, if Jade or someone had been kind and involved Milton in their group and he felt accepted, he never would've been Altermind. If it happened, he'd become more of a Slytherin and would value his group so highly.
  13. Good point. Kobold, does it matter if they metalwork or not?
  14. Milton early on was probably more inclined to a Ravenclaw primary, but he'd model Slytherin. His secondary would be Slytherin. Calamity's changed him somewhat, mostly that before, he never did find a group to call his own, but now that he's powerful and good-looking, he has Thoughttown to look over. They still wouldn't get along, but I guess he wouldn't have too much against her. Very true.
  15. Milton wouldn't mind Jade so much as think she was annoying and weak, but if she was Funtimes, he would request the Sorting Hat to put him in Ravenclaw just to keep him away from her.
  16. That'll be perfect then.
  17. It's not so much backstory stuff as it is me knowing how they think, but yeah, definitely strong Ravenclaw and Slytherin traits. Jag is definitely a Gryffindor secondary and probably Slytherin primary. Hawkwing balances him out with his Ravenclaw primary and secondary. Smasher's also a Gryff secondary and probably primary too. Emma is most likely in the process of becoming a Petrified Slytherin or maybe a Burned Hufflepuff with slytherin secondary.
  18. Hmm, I kind of do want a hunting society. I'm quite interested in the more "primitive" types of peoples(hunter-gatherers, pastoralists), than I am in the more modern societies. How about a society that relies on hunting game in the north of their territory for food and on plants from the red lumuoles they use to keep gardens warm. They would also be further advanced in metalworking-simple machines like wheels, levers, and pulleys are probably the extent of it. What do you think?
  19. I finally am reading that entire Sorting Hat tumblr that Twi uses and I'm pretty sure Altermind is a Slytherin Primary with a Ravenclaw Secondary. Twi, did you ever sort him differently, I'm curious? I am having a hard time deciding on a primary for myself though. I think Hufflepuff is probably my Primary with a Slytherin Secondary, but I also think I might be a Gryffindor or Slytherin Primary. It's kind of a weird mix of the three. I love reading about Gryffindor primaries and those are probably my favorite characters, especially if they're a Gryffindor or Slytherin secondary. Hufflepuff Primaries can also be some of my favorites.
  20. Quoted because it might've gotten missed. Whatever works best for you guys. The Mirani peoples are the ones I've been really excited for, so these guys can fit whatever position you want them to. They can be fairly new or very low in technology, whatever is best.
  21. More like one of my very real pet peeves. Discution over.
  22. I might take you up on that. Actually, yeah, I'll claim some land and work on it in a little while. I'll take the area right above where Twi and Kobold's meet up to the light blue color, Bard. Jerric, what is the light blue color anyways? And is the wikipedia palleted map ready? Edit: I've decided that Luti's documents are going to be the history/lore of the Meran and that this upcoming document will be the cultural report from Dilar, in a much easier style and voice, than Luti. Here's a sample to show the difference. If, at any point, you guys just want a rundown on the Meran without the in-world document, just let me know. I, Dilar, of the Meran, strive to compose a document that shows our culture to the strangers, that they might better understand us. I will speak in the formal tongue that pervades most of the human world. As Marino of old, the Meran herd sarmu for their milk and blood. Meran men keep watch over the herds during their swimming in the sea during the day. They arm themselves with wooden and stone spears as well as shortbows, watching for many-teeth, or sharks, as they are better known, as well as any Niran encroaching on the Meran waters. After the Third Mirani War, both of our cultures agreed to a set of borders between our waters. Any trespassers from either side may be killed at will, unless they are holding a blue flag of peace. Only a few, foolhardy people have tried it from either side. At dawn and dusk, a few male sarmu are removed from the herd. The women Meran milk the female sarmu while the men bleed the few males they took. They use a shortbow and a sharp, hollow arrow to quickly pierce the sarmu’s lower neck, while two other men hold the sarmu’s head, mouth bound with cloth. The small wound from the arrow quickly begins bleeding, funneling the blood out the hollow center of the arrow. The blood is collected in a long-necked bottle to be mixed with the milk. After one bottle is filled with blood, the sarmu’s wound is immediately wrapped to staunch the bleeding. Each male sarmu will be bled thrice a moon-cycle. Milking takes place every dawn and dusk, but bleeding only occurs at dusk.
