  1. Maybe they break the books in half? That would seem to work with the way the books are broken up in parts. Brandon has to have known how to make books able to fit into 2-1/2 hour segments.
  2. Haven't even begun on a screenplay adaptation. So we are like 4-5 years off, at least. Which is probably why he has been quick to say that he needs to get 4&5 done really quick after 3 is done. Gives him a 4-5 book cushion before the first one is out, which means he has a minimum of 8-10 years to get the 1st book of the 2nd half of SA done. It's achievable...but man that is a lot of dedicated time.
  3. I don't see it on Patreon and I am a $10 supporter. Must not have actually made it yet.
  4. Booo!!!! Don't play with our hearts, like that.
  5. It's not showing up, when I open his homepage.
  6. Forgot to mention that the reading he did, from tonight, was an unpublished story where the magic system comprised of super powers being gained from various diseases, which were incubated continuously. Cosmere-based work.
  7. Was at the signing tonight (my first), and it was really awesome. My wife knitted him a "Writing Spren" and he was super happy to receive it.
  8. So I guess I will be going up, today, to get my copy so as to make sure to have a receipt for a wristband.
  9. US-Born...lived in Canada for the last 7 years...returned a couple of months ago to Virginia.
  10. I figured I would start this thread, since I will definitely be going to the WoR signing at the B&N in Tyson's Corner, VA. This will be my first Brandon signing and will be taking my phone to record the proceedings. I will also attempt to transcribe it as best as I can. I'm guessing Soundcloud is the preferred medium? Or whatever is free? I have a few weeks to get that straightened out, thankfully. Is there anything else that I am missing?
  11. It was just announced, a few minutes ago. http://www.tor.com/blogs/2014/01/words-of-radiance-tour-schedule I'll be going to the Virginia signing!
  12. Thanks, Shardlet!
  13. Oh!!! thank you very much!!
  14. I was wanting to reread the whole thing, but I wanted to do that starting in February as a ramp up to the release of WoR. With all of the information I have been gleening from this site, I feel like I missed a lot of what was going on in her POV...so I wanted to do a quick read of that before another full reread. Oh, who am I kidding. I might as well reread the whole thing.
  15. I have read or listened to TWOK at least three times, but I was thinking on just going back and reading Shallan's POV. Would I be missing too much, before the last several chapters by doing this? I was wanting to refamiliarize myself with Shallan's POV but didn't want to miss out on too many needed points of info to help make doing this a futile effort. Thanks
  16. Welcome fellow Albertan!!
  17. Welcome!!! Loved your drawings of the Kholins.
  18. Most of the things Ym is saying, come from Buddhist thinking. All from the same person....reflections of each other...these are all from the Buddhist tradition.
  19. Could you ask if he still is hoping for that Cosmere-based Novella to be out before the end of the year...."Sixth of the Dusk" ??
  20. I have re-read The Way of Kings once, already, and I just made sure that I had read a few other books in between readings, so that I have a little more depth of knowledge of having read other authors/books so that when I go back to read it, it doesn't feel like I just read it. As well, when I go back to re-read it, I keep in mind certain things so that I know to look for certain connections that I may have missed or I may have learned about on these forums. My favorite re-reads, thus far, are TWOK, the Thomas Covenant series by Stephen R. Donaldson. I have been slowly making my way through them as I haven't read them for quite a few years. I love his vision and simplicity. I don't think I have ever read a book more than twice that wasn't for an academic reason. TWOK will be the first time I have read a book a third time.
  21. Oooh...hadn't remembered that. Good call!
  22. I was wondering if anyone knows when the Inkwing site is going to come back up again? It was the only place that I could get t-shirts for Way of Kings. If there are other places to get them, I would love to know what they are.
  23. The most important thing I learned was that it doesn't matter what your first draft looks like or reads like. That the process of revision gets rid of a multitude of sins. Seeing Brandon's first page of Words of Radiance where, in the first paragraph, he has a pretty large "error" to be corrected, brought it all into reality.
  24. Great job, you two!! I am so amazingly intrigued by Jasnah's prologue. CANNOT WAIT!!!!! Is it March, yet?
