Tournament: Cosmere Character Roast Battles
Silva replied to Ashspren's topic in Forum Games & Random Stuff
*has failed to get hands on Oathbringer in the past 4 hours* *stalks the internet a bit and scrounges through WoK and WoR* *finds some (possibly useful) stuff* @Ashspren, so you said they have to direct quotes from or about the character....does that about include their "accomplishments" if they can be shown through a quote even if they aren't explicitly mentioned, but it would likely be attributed to them? There definitely is not a case specifically being thought of over here. Definitely not. How far away is it?- 2784 replies

He was barely one day old when Pry left the other side of the world. Then, max two week journey to land even though she did go with the Vikings which cuts down a week normally. We'll pretend she went slow and it took her half a week to get home from Alleycity. He's two and a half weeks old by CDS. Hellbent would have come at most a week later since there's no way the parents would have been away so long from all the children. Eon is barely two months old. He would be dead since there's no way formula was brought for him or that he was getting the care he needed. This just keeps getting more impressive by the minute. If, in addition to being alive, he also was developing quickly, Eon will grow up to be ridiculously powerful and OP by every definition. Which wouldn't work for Era 3, so... The only argument you could try to pull now to get the movies to work is that babies grow and develop a lot in the first few months. Warning, I already have a counter. And again, sorry. When it comes to the Acutes I'm a tad defensive, as you may have noticed.

Sudiov is an innocent TUBA member. Voidus spikes cookies. It really makes no sense as to why people confuse the two. Their names don't even sound that similar.
-
Sudiov, unfortunately, was added to the PM after elections had already taken place. We're really sorry .

He's quite alive and well. Gonev pulled her out of the way when the guy jumped, don't know if you saw. Your guy fell on the ground and hit air. The Acute's have the honor of having a very talented family friend, Ofrira. He's a tailor who also teaches them all many interesting things - you'll find him mentioned in Pry's history and CDS, I'm not making any of this up. Eon has never met with him and benefited from that experience. So to, he isn't extremely extraordinary yet. Also, out of curiosity I did some more research. 4-8 months is when they can start eating normal food. Eon is nowhere near that if we strictly follow the canon of what I've written. which we really should. He'd have been maybe one month by CDS and at most 3 months now. He's pushing reality by being alive. Cut him some slack in the other special departments. They're already being strained. The kid is ALIVE, that ought to be enough to make you happy. Sorry. @Ark1002

Eon, however, was still crying. He was still hungry. He was still cold. And he was still tired. One of those he could address though. Loud noises kept him from falling completely asleep, but he kept his eyes closed. It helped and eventually he drifted off only to be awoken to bright lights. Still tired, his eyelids drooped shut again. The lights were gone. Eon was shocked. Where had they gone? He didn't know and didn't really care. They were annoying. So, due to the fact he was an infant, Eon didn't watch the movies. He only listened. But the noises reminded him of a place with big blue people they'd once visited. Compile had been there. He liked Compile. Eon smiled happily. @Ark1002 --- Gonev pulled her out of the way just in time. He watched Pry slip inside and wink at him. He smiled what he hoped was reassuring before turning his attention back to the Marine.

You Know You're a Sanderfan When...
Silva replied to Shardbearer's topic in General Brandon Discussion
When someone tells you they skipped to the end of WoA and you give them such a guilt inducing lecture in which you somehow manage to convince them that they misunderstood what they cheated to read and Elend did not, and I quote, "gain magic metal superpowers." -

Got it. It's amazing how different their perspectives are. Warmer felt disgusted. How could a person be so cruel? He kept up the act, hoping someone somehow would save him from this. He was revolted by the whole ordeal. The stench of blood nauseated him, but he couldn't halt suddenly for fear of suspicion. Warmer swallowed. Even the sugar wasn't helping. The cookies were too sweet. Sickly so. If this kept up he had a feeling he'd wind up barfing. On Crow.

Hair pulled back with crochet hooks and eyes still puffy red, Pry would have laughed at how pathetic she probably looked if it weren't for the context. She wore no armor, just a whole lot of practical filled brass and faux black leather which would do the same without being as loud or clunky. A strand of hair fell out of her bun and into her face. Pry didn't react. Instead she picked up her cane and rapped on the door three times. The others were waiting a little distance away, she'd claimed it was to make it all work out better, but really she was hoping to just keep Freedom out of trouble. Then she realized that one of them, the other teenager was standing next to her. "Can you stop sneaking up on me?" "I don't sneak. People just don't notice me," he told her. "Well you definitely will be noticed when they open the door," she said. "You don't seem like someone who would looking for trouble of that sort." "I'm most certainly not," he said. "Trouble usually is the one who finds me." Gonev winked and went to stand right next to the door with his back to the wall, out of sight of anyone who would open it.

Rain is so weird (when not considering the science behind it). It's water, falling from the sky. You can't say that's not strange. It's great, but strange.

Loyalty to Hellbent. Not Crow. Don't mind if I take advantage of that...last I checked Hellbent hadn't wanted any of them dead. Warmer kept a smile on his face as he continued doing what Crow wanted. Inside his brain was screaming at him how wrong it all was. Half the Acutes were peskiterians and the other half the time fully vegetarian. Killing was never something he'd expected doing. But he kept up the happy boy charade. Crow was bad, he knew, and this was the only way he could help his siblings. --- Eon was hungry. And cold. And tired. He cried and cried and cried, but no one would be able to determine why. That was Compile's specialty. Of course, Crow had knocked her out, so even if he knew that would have been no use. Eon glared at Crow. --- Light was really unhappy. Against the wishes of her brain's screaming, she led the six with her (holding Compile) to the cell. Then she turned to face them. "Okay," she said slowly. "Only me and one other need to get locked in. He did say 'sibling.' Singular. Probably a mistake, but I'll take it. I say Compile because.." the little girl was still unconcious. "Unity and Brethren should also stay - I don't want him in more danger. That leaves Precious, Dawn, and Lineage." "Dawn and Lineage should stay," Precious said. "I'll go alone." "You sure?" "Yeah." Light fished in her right boot and took out a heavy bead of chromium which she pressed into her hands. "It's got a whole lot of your luck from when you were too small." Precious handled the cache carefully and closed her fingers around it. "Good luck, Presh." "Thanks," she said. "I'll need it." Six Acutes stayed in the locked cell. One snuck off with a key.

She was done. It was her fault and no one elses. She'd told Freedom to go. Her decision and plan. Yet so far she was the one who so far was the least injured. How strange. Nothing around her seemed remotely resemblant of chromium, nor had she any Luck to tap. She didn't care. Luck wouldn't get her out of this mess. Only information would. Precious lay still and began to write on the ground in her blood. She'll go to the underground bakers. She's one of them. She's trained in fighting. We all are. She always was the best. Right-handed punch is weak though, don't over-estimate it. She moved away from the bloody mess and continued on a different patch of cleaner ground. Maybe DIDGERIDOO. She talked about that place a bit. But I can't see Freedom going somewhere public to find her. So if she's there Freedom's not with her. Someone tapped her shoulder. It was Dawn. Barely awake. She shook her head as if to say "Any more you write is fiction. Just stop there." Precious shrugged, but sat back shakily. --- Unity tried hard to keep up his glare he really did. The eyes. They were..."the windows," he said incoherently to himself, remembering what Pry always told him. "When all seems lost, don't forget to close the shades." --- Warmer's eyes popped open. He'd been having a bad dream about people hurting his siblings. Someone shouted and he looked about. "Unity!" he said, recognizing the voice. Warmer smiled. Then he realized that Unity hadn't shouted. He'd screamed. Screaming wasn't good. Good meant behaving. So by screaming, Unity wasn't behaving? That didn't quite make sense, but Pry had told Warmer that if they weren't good she wouldn't ever take them to the tower place. "The Citadel," he said, remembering what she'd called it. "Unity, she won't take us to the Citadel!" --- "Citadel?" Unity murmured. "Wha' about it?" He winced from pain. A paper on the window sill - addressed to Vahara. It was the night before... Unity opened it. He knew he shouldn't, but he was curious. And it was his sister. What harm could reading it do? Vahara, it had said. I miss you already. Meet me at the Citadel? I'll be waiting. Love, Pry Acute He'd dismissed it as grownup stuff and resealed it. Vahara had never read the message. "Oh, ruin," he said, then shut his mouth because he'd cursed. "She was at the Citadel," he told Crow weakly. @Ark1002

Having a twin could be great. It meant having a built in friend and constant companion. It meant having someone who knew you through and through. But it also meant having someone so close to you that their pain was also yours. Watching Dawn get whipped was probably one of the worst things he'd ever experienced. For all her taunting to him about being a minute older, for all her time spent half asleep, for all her crazy schemes that got them in trouble, Dawn was his twin and there was almost nothing he wouldn't do for her. And every time that whip went down, it hurt him probably as much as her. "Crow!" he called out, cutting off Precious who had been about to say something. Having the brute's attention on him at least might help Dawn, if only for a moment. "None of us know where Prism is. The last time we saw her was a few weeks ago. When she left she gave us no location as to where she was headed." And even if she had, he thought, she wouldn't even still be there. She never stays in one spot. @Ark1002

Pry is becoming an over-protective big sister. That might be as scary as an over-powered character any day.

Or TUBA. It's a better choice. Just ask Sudiov . And you get cookies! (they aren't spiked, don't worry)
