Eve Tacet-Yin-Dove looked up at the small apartment building. 17 Left Right Alley. It was ancient - even from before the Seven Day War. Older than her. She turned the doorknob and stepped inside. The carpeting was a faded purple. In its prime it may have looked luxurious, but all Eve saw were the dark stains reminding her of blood. Of...the Tacets. Eve shook her head. Now was not the time. Her eyes trailed the numbers of the doors on the first level. One through ten. The one she needed was 54. The stairs were in disrepair; the first step creaked ominously when she tested it. She climbed up them as cautiously as she could, being as there was no alternative. The next floor resembled the first. Old carpeting. Rusted over numbers. Same was the next. And the next. And the one after. The next as well. But not the next. The carpeting was pulled up, revealing the wooden flooring beneath. The walls were painted a cheerful shade of mint green. And only one door still had a number. Number 54. She stopped walking abruptly. The sound of footsteps stopped a second after. Eve whirled around. “Who are you?” --- “Who are you?” the girl asked. Pry looked her over. Pale skin. Messy hair. Rumpled clothing. “I was about to ask the same about you.” The girl watched her. “Not planning on sharing that, I suppose. How about, why are you here?” Pry asked. The girl didn’t move, not intending to say anything until her question was answered. Pry sighed. “My name is Prism Acute.” The name seemed to strike something with the girl. “You’re related to Light?” she asked. Light? “How do you know my sister?” Pry said, startled. “We’re related,” the girl said. “Who are you?” Pry asked again. “Eve Tacet-Yin-Dove,” she said. “The only living member of the Yin family. Yin. The name rang a bell. Then she remembered. “Everyone thought you were dead.” “Light knew I was alive. We just thought it would be a better idea not to raise too much attention to the fact. She told me I could crash here if I needed a place,” Eve said. Light’s mysterious friend who she’d refused to name. The spanreed without a name on it. Everything made sense now. “Well, this definitely was unexpected,” she said. “Let’s get you washed up.” --- Freedom stared at her reflection. Herself. Age thirteen. Completely healthy. She stored away some age and watched it change. A fresh brand appeared on her forehead. Pain blossomed in other places as well. Some more time flew by in her reflection and it healed away to a scar. A noticeable one, but simply a scar nonetheless. She stopped storing, reverting back to thirteen. Her forehead was clear. Not a sign of what had been there a second before. Someone knocked on the door of her room. Freedom quickly shoved the weaponry and other assorted items she’d been practicing with like Lusk had told her to under her bed. “Free?” Juon said through the door. “Pry’s home. Eve too.” “Eve?” she asked. “Light’s friend.” Oh. She opened the door. Juon had moved on to wash some dishes, singing some some she’d never heard before. Pry was talking animatedly with Tino about some guild representative who had (unintentionally) created a contradiction in his proposition for a code of laws. The sound of the shower running was in the background. Freedom smiled. A crazy combination of all sorts of people. This...this is what home felt like.

Farming. She grimaced. Aderet rubbed the rough edge of her broken nail. The way things were going, she had a feeling she'd be breaking a couple more. Once again, her left hand closed around some of her cadmium. The temptation to burn some and pass time was strong, but Aderet resisted it. Someone had once told her something about her bubbles averting the course of bullets. To waste her sole protection on mere boredom would be a stupid and selfish idea even for her. "This place might not have a winter," she said. "For all we know it's really the summer we need to fear."

"She turned me into a frog!" one of the squirrels called. "I got better though!" It was clear that while the squirrel may have been alive, s/he certainly wasn't better as there were no frogs around or even anything female with the ability to turn a squirrel into a frog.- 111800 replies

Aderet silently watched them. At the moment her goal was to attract the least attention possible.

1. I'm not. This is my insane side you see. Or more noticeably insane than my other sides. 2. It's not quite seeing the future so much as seeing the connections after the fact. So, no. I can't teach you to see the future in your dreams so much as try and help you learn to notice all the crazy coincidences.

That sounds...nauseating. Waffles. Even the word is fun to say.
-
That works too. I'm also a fan of using two extremely similar greys on top of one another. then putting on strikethrough in order to get a nice black line.

The Haunt. It fit what she had seen from the voice. After taking one last glance at the outline, Eve turned and ran.

She nodded. It seemed her poor luck was kicking in again. Eve stood up, still watching the dust figure. "It was nice meeting you," she said. "Have you got a name? In case I ever want to find you again?" It felt sort of foolish to ask when she ought to have been running fast as possible, but a part of her wanting something to be able to hold onto in her memory of the voice besides for an image of a basic outline.

She'd made too many thought jumps with what she'd said before. "In my opinion it's better to be alive and bored because you've been watching, then dead and not able to even watch," she said, hoping to make things clearer. "But that might not be the traditional standpoint. History could show that most people would rather be careless and die, than cautious and alive."

Okay. *takes a breath* The long: The concise: There you go. Disclaimers: 1. I may have missed some religions when I went through the “Religions” section on Coppermind and copied and pasted the short “beliefs” section for each. 2. If anything said here seems like an insult at any Earth religion, I am sorry and hope you will believe me when I say that was not the intention in any way for any of them. 3. Anything else that probably should be said goes here.

There's a long answer with explanations and thought process and a short answer with just a name. Which do you want?
-
Fourthed. @Ark1002, are you trying to kill people? Also, Aderet is also in the basement, but I don't have time to write a reaction right now.
-
"It's better to be bored than without the ability to be bored," Eve said. Her eyes followed the dust forming a figure. It was nice to know where he was, rather than trying to guess from sound."But maybe that's just me. It's possible history shows different patterns, not that anyone around would know. Watching isn't exactly something people tend to record."
