  1. Not to mention Warbreaker. Or Secret History. Also, Tay, would you like a non-hemalurgic TUBA-approved cookie?
  2. Tena grinned at Mace, mouthing back, You’re welcome. He still looked a little out of sorts. I hope he’s okay... well, at least he acknowledged my presence this time. She picked up Fae and Steelpushed up to the top of the pit, still loading the femalen with stormlight. Anxiously he looked down at Mace, guessing that he didn’t have as much experience with Steelpushing. “Wingardium levio...” she started saying, then stopped, frowning. Shouldn’t have read those books. Tena set Fae down. "Sister, I don't care that you're a Singer. We're all just people in the end, after all. Some of your folks hired an assassin to kill the Alethi's king? Chill. Pretty cool, actually."
  3. Fang caught the fist in his jaws, and clamped down.
  4. Mace was mumbling to himself, Tena noticed. Apparently his family had a thing for that. She felt more worried this time, though, than when Klasten had started ranting to his horse. That wasn’t all that odd, she supposed. Mace looked really disturbed, and was going through the ‘you’re all right, you’re in good hands’ mantra. What was even more ridiculous was that she was worrying this much about him, despite the fact that he was obviously unaware of her existence. She’d never quite beaten that worrying about him out of her, though in past times what had worked was tragedy. Her daughters’ miscarriages had driven all love from her for quite a while, and in the second case had nearly made her kill the father. No, don’t think about that now, Tena told herself. You won’t fail Fae. You won’t. You can help her. She kept on healing the femalen, wiping her eyes with back of one hand. No, it’s been so long. You can take it. Stop. Crying. She looked at Mace nervously. He appeared to be having a mental breakdown of some sort, and that made her want to hug him, but she had to heal Fae first.
  5. Tena had been watching the Parshendi femalen doing the course, and thus saw when Fae fell. She felt a sense of urgency immediately, probably her spren, and then Steelpushed on top of the net, landing near Fae. She summoned her spren as a Shardblade, then cut through the net and fell to Fae, her legs complaining at the treatment. Tena ignored them, crouched next to Fae and healing her with Progression.
  6. Ark, my dear friend, why are you, of all people, drunk?

  7. That’s certainly something I hadn’t noticed before. Sounds plausible,
  8. This quote is from a video game you play on a PS4.
  9. Y U no Ookla?

      ... What exactly is Ookla?

  10. Fangblade tried to scratch his Nightblood claws down Kane’s spine; from the position he was in, Kane would have to fling him off forcefully if he wanted to be free. That led to another question: how in the Cosmere was Kane remaining upright with a hundred-fifty pound canine on his back? Nothing makes sense. The dagger bounced off of one of Fang’s ribs, and Fang growled, Spirit-Brother summoning in his jaws as a spear of sorts. This Fang bashed against Kane’s Shardplate.
  11. Seom sat down into her seat, excited and anxious at once. She looked down at the arena where the contestants would be fighting, a buzz of nervous energy releasing itself via a grin. She didn’t like to see people harmed, but pit fights of this kind were apparently common entertainment, and the contenders usually didn’t die. At the same time, the crowd of cheering, screaming spectators terrified her; living with her father and only occasionally seeing other people. Most of her time, she’d only seen her dogs and horses, so all of the yelling people disturbed her greatly. She leaned forward in her seat as the fighting began, cringing as the combatants struck at each other. She had never before seen real violence, and she leaned forward, eyes fixed on the two figures below. She blinked, that reaction of hers, focus instead of horror, was likely a result of her Koloss blood. She settled back into her seat, watching the fighting below with a more appropriate mix of confusion, disgust, and sympathy. What could drive people to like fighting, to enjoy putting one’s self in danger to cause others harm? It made Seom slightly nauseous, but she stayed in her seat anyway.
  12. Also, this is a Sanderson website. I don’t want to have to do more than is necessary to understand the principles. Even Warhammer 40K confuses me greatly.
  13. No energy or plasma rifles. Anything that defies the laws of physics is not fair; while everybody else is in melee, you could snipe them with overpowered, ridiculous weapons. It’s annoying in duels.
  14. There ya go, ma dog.
  15. This applies to all of the Cosmere, but was inspired by @Ookla the Paragon‘s character Mace in the Alleyverse subforum. And, sigh, @Ookla the Ookla came up with the idea.
  16. “Anticlimactic for a Fullborn,” Tena commented. “But he is pretty old.”
  17. Oh, great. Now I have to bring out Zerasin. I hope y'all like Allomancy.
  18. Tena walked back to the small crowd of contestees and Zaphoid, then gave Mace a thumbs-up. He could do it.
  19. Tena took time off to go grab some stuff. She, since she was a very senior member, took a jetpack and didn't pay for it. *** Fang was one of the leaders of the Precursors. The mission of maintaining peace had always called to him as an Edgedancer (and, privately, he wondered why his mother’s spren hadn’t terminated their bond; Tena saved so few compared to the lives she took). That aside, he was ready.
  20. Tena stopped burning steel, then hesitantly started again. Blue lines shot out of her chest towards the stepping stones, and she decided it was safer to avoid traps. She sprinted forward and leaped, barely surpassing the first stone, then Flared steel, Steelpushing the metal plate, and flew parallel to the entire stage. She crouched into her landing on the platform at the end, standing up and surveying the next challenge. She stopped burning steel, deciding that accidentally Pushing on something could only end badly, then jumped forward and grabbed onto the bar that connected to the ropes. Her momentum threw her forward, and she used that, swinging to her weight back and forward with the swing, then let go at the prime moment and grabbed onto the next bar. She repeated that process enough times to get her to the next platform. Given the amount of training Tena had been through, climbing walls, or ceilings, wasn’t much to her. She had powerful arms, was relatively short, and had no excess body fat. All of her reserves had been drained when she’d— no, she wasn’t going to think about that. Instead, she wiped her hands on her trousers and stuck each one into her chalk bag. She swung into the motions, grabbing a handhold and using her legs to propel herself up the wall. It was difficult, so Tena had worked up a sweat at the end. She shook out her short hair and noted the spray that came from it, not as much as normal. One of the reasons she kept her hair short was to prevent her from sweating any needed water away, and she’d gotten a haircut recently. Still in good spirits, Tena faced her next challenge. Monkey bars. They looked like difficult monkey bars, so Tena braced herself, then jumped and grabbed the first one. Her arms ached a little from their recent strain, but did not fail her as she did the course. Once she got to the platform, Tena collapsed onto her knees, then grit her teeth and stood up. The next one seemed more nausea-inducing than difficult, and she completed it as well. This one looks more fun than difficult,Tena quipped inwardly when saw the swing with a net at the other side. The idea was to swing yourself far enough to grab onto the net, then climb up the net to the top platform. She jumped to get the swing, then repeated her actions of earlier and jumped to the net. She nearly missed with one of her hands, but still managed to hold on. From there, she climbed to the platform on top and walked to the end of the course.
  21. “Oh, hey,” Tena said to Silphy (nickname), “aren’t you one of Devy’s boys? You look like one. In which case, consider yourself safe from me. I owe Devy for not killing me when I got the Shadestone.”
