Dan stayed sitting the way he was, but he took a second to nuzzle Shae’s face.

“Uuuhhh, okay,” Dan said. He sat straightbacked and still, feeling like his tail was wagging.

“Fine.” Dan sat down.

“I just want to get home AND IT’S TAKING FOREVER CAN SOMEONE PLEASE JUST TELEPORT US TO THE WHITEROSE COMPLEX THANKS.”

“Okay.” Dan leaned down enough to lick Shae’s face. Everything was so weird, he couldn’t help it.

“I don’t know, but Zehr explained it to my dad and I listened so I remembered what he said.”

“Comdominant something or another, but I’ve checked, and I’m immune to neural toxins not including alcohol or something like that.”

“I’m immune to anything that isn’t in rabbits or fish.”

“I can’t get high,” Dan said, licking Shae’s head again. It also made Dan feel better.

“For what, exactly? For the Ghostbloods to have their great guild status taken away? I’ll vote for that.”

“I already bit all the bullets out and got magic-healed, what more does she want?” He licked the top of Shae’s head. “So can we just go home how?” he asked Azrael.

Dan shivered. “That was weird. Why is that lady doing an operation on me?”

Dan nervously reached over and held Shae’s hand.

“I’d be fine with that,” Terrel said, rubbing his temples with the heels of his hands.

“Show me absolute proof that your guild didn’t do it. Let my scribes dig through your records and identify the records of employment for the soldiers that attacked us, and let do it now before you can change them.”

“We’re fairly new,” Terrel said. “To the Republic, that is. Which makes me all the more confused as to why the Ghostbloods would already want to make enemies of us when we could be your allies.”

“Actually, our guild is a great guild, yet somehow we manage to stay civil when another guild drops in to murder our children.”

“Well, my guild doesn’t have any shortcuts for leadership, and we still work,” Terrel said. He sounds so childish. “Even you, a rep of The Ghostbloods, don’t even know what’s going on. You used ‘probably’ about five times.”

“A purpose, being, to attack TUBA,” Terrel said. “Do you guys just like attacking people for no reason? People have died and will continue to die unless you get control of your own guild.”

“Yes, because the Great Game totally had a purpose,” Terrel said, amused by the kid’s little speech. “Can you or can’t you confirm that the Waiter joined the Ghostbloods?”
