Tena watched Death for a moment. Devaan had left. She got the distinct feeling that his name was Scandinavian, oddly. Turning, she tapped speed and dashed to where Devaan had somehow managed to kill a Kolossal. "You do not get bragging rights for this, okay?" she said sternly to him. "I could have strangled him. You just cheated with Aonic magic. Some of us can make do with what we don't harm ourselves with. I'd fully expect you to become a Bloodmage or something." Tena Pushed herself into the air with a coin and surveyed the battlefield. Another Kolossal was coming for them.

Tena ice-skated off the battlefield, tapping her speed Metalmind to get her out without any more scrapes than necessary. She Pushed off a soldier's armor, launching herself unto the roof off a nearby building. She ran across similar roofs, looking for someone to help, as her spren was screaming at her to do. She saw... Death? He was here? But he was attacking her fellows, and Devaan was walking up to him to challenge him. That looks like fun, Tena thought, flipping off the roof, her Awakened pants absorbing a blow that would've broken her legs. She summoned her spren as a Shardax and waved her staff at Death in a way that would probably be at least a little threatening.

Tena was solemn for once. Apparently, Mac had died. She hadn't known him, but she did know that he'd been beloved as a member of the DA. Rest in peace, she thought, standing outside the Alleycity, looking to where his funeral was being held. She went there, and noted the DA serving cookies. Like that was a surprise.

Mace hadn't given her any orders, so Tena helped build a ramp on the wall of the Alleycity, burying a coin in each one, and Pushing them so that they flew abnormally fast and always landed where she wanted them to. Also, she could knock down the wall with other Coinshots with the 'cakes' if Mace thought it wise. After the supply of cakes was exhausted, Tena dropped a coin and Pushed on it, propelling herself 100 or so feet into the air. She surveyed the battleground, wondering if anyone would need the help of a Steel Compounder and Edgedancer anytime soon. Oh, there he is, she thought, sighting Soul fighting his way through many ranks of enemy soldiers. She maneuvered her way over to the battle, but stayed a good distance from him, not wanting to get killed. She struck down enemies, a real ax in one hand and a Shardax in the other, using all of her Investitures to the best of her abilities.

"Awaiting orders, sir," Tena said, already standing near Mace. "I'd be glad to be out on the field with Solace and the Ghostbloods. I'm not experienced at all in cooking."

Best moments in Dungeons and Dragons
Sherlock Holmes replied to Dragon Reborn's topic in Entertainment Discussion
Me and my group were bored with nothing to do, so the DM came up with a random situation and here's how it went: My paladin and my two friends' barbarian and rogue were walking in the woods or something, when an old man hobbles out of nowhere and asks us if we'd be willing to protect him for a month with no pay. "Tinker!" I immediately assumed aloud, and agreed. The barbarian agrees, but the rogue does not. So the old man turns into an arch-something and knocks us all out. We wake up in an underground chamber... with blue-burning candles. Just kidding. We all look around and eventually the DM tells us where the key is, and we get a key and a hint for later use. The hint was, 'look up.' We wander out of the room and are attacked by a merperson that runs away. In the next we're in a room that sets itself on fire and two Shadows riding Nightmares jump out at us. Keep in mind, we're all fairly new. The DM immediately gets rid of the Nightmares and the Shadow that we couldn't kill, so we go into the next room, which lights itself on fire again. I look up and discover something over the sound of my two cohorts shouting loudly. Me and the DM wait for them to calm down, and when they do, we climb up a hole in the ceiling and find the same arch-something waiting for us. The DM kills it for us with a Sea Dragon. That's when the session ended. -
"Holy smokes," Tena exclaimed, rocketing out of the sky to land next to Death, who was wearing a frilly black dress. He had style. "Are TUBA and the Ghostbloods on the same side yet? I mean, we're both fighting the DA. What's the point of not teaming up together?" She asked this of the air, and Death. She dropped a coin and arced over the landscape to Mace, and repeated what she'd said to Death, but added, "Could we ask Solace? It's not like you guys are fighting for the exact opposite thing or anything. You both want the DA to fall into ruin. As a sort of intermediary, I think that this would benefit both of my organizations. You're all my people, and I'd hate to see fighting among you. Why do we all have to fight each other when our goal is the same. There's enough space in the Alleycity for all of us. Except," she grinned evilly, "the DA."

TUBA - The Underground Bakers' Association
Sherlock Holmes replied to Stormblessed Dolphin's topic in The Alleyverse
Heh, my first post was in the 'In Soviet Roshar...' thread, where I made a joke about how people don't know if windspren cause wind or vice versa. -
"Oh, by the way, Yzabet," Tena said casually. "I'm working in Solace's army. Peace." She grinned deviously and disappeared onto the Alleyplanet. The battle was beginning.
-
Tena stopped Pushing on one of the metal plates and fell sideways, yawning. She flipped so that she had her feet oriented toward the ground, and her pants, already Awakened, absorbed the fall flawlessly. She walked over to Soul, yawned again, and said, "Oh, you're here too? That's good. Now I don't have to be fighting with a completely crazy army. But you will, 'cause I'm perfectly insane."
-
Tena spun in mid-air, changing her course with a Steelpushed coin towards the sounds of armed chasmfiends. Sounds like the war has begun, she thought, satisified. Several minutes later, she landed next to Solace with minimal noise (muffled by her Awakened pants). She bounced from foot to foot and said, "I'd like to join your side, Solace. This looks like fun, or at least a challenge." She took the vials he handed her and sniffed them to be sure that they weren't poisoned, and they weren't. She Pushed off a dropped coin, angling herself so that she'd land on the Coinshot-aid chasmfiend's back, holding on to one of its spines before Pushing against two parallel plates to launch herself straight up. She scanned the field before her discerningly.

Tena extended her hand, accepting the handshake, but quickly backed off a few steps and looked around, expecting to see hemalurgic seals coming to eat her or something like that. "Whew," she said quietly, then, "I heard something about money or something being given to the winner, which, as I recall, I am. So...?" She tilted her head questioningly.
-
" These are unsealed electruminds, use them to dampen the pain some patients might experience, there is also a couple zincminds in the box to help with the more difficult emergencies, good luck. That's what it says." Tena dropped a coin and Pushed off it, flipping herself over and standing on the roof.

"Great gods of the-" Tena cursed, slamming a coin into the snowy ground under her, then Pushing off it, bursting through the 10 feet of snow that had buried her, and flying upwards and backwards. She spun in mid-air, so that when she landed, she was facing towards the sledders, one of whom had apparently been attempting to suffocate her. She dropped another coin and Pushed herself towards the track, alighting nimbly on a Shardpole that she formed below her as she willed it to, so that she glared down at Mace and Yzabet like a hunting owl. "What was that?" she asked calmly, knowing that Mace had thrown the sled that had almost killed her; she'd seen him doing it, but had figured that he wouldn't attempt to kill her. She raised her hand to silence what Yzabet was going to say, knowing what it was. "No, what he did is different, Yzabet. I can heal any wound I cause easily. But he would've had to dig me out, and by the time I was out, I might have hypothermia or be dead. You can't heal dead people." She shortened her Shardpole until she could jump off and stand up, which she did, now holding a Shardstaff that she could use in a fight if she needed to.

The Longest Thread (Misadventures)
Sherlock Holmes replied to ElephantEarwax's topic in Forum Games & Random Stuff
"PUPPIES ARE THE BEST!" Axelius's Alleyverse character exclaimed, going into wherever they were on her knees in classic 80s fashion. She hugged one to her chest while trying to scratch another's ears. After about two seconds, she was buried in a veritable mountain of puppies.- 111830 replies

Tena growled and Pushed some coins into the faces of other sledders, including Mace, who tried to grab the coin. Tena then tossed one in front of her and veered right really fast, Pushing the coin right into Yzabet's flank, and making the woman turn 90 degrees and smash into the side. I guess it's time to play dirty, Tena thought, promptly setting a coin on her sled and Pushing herself to her feet with it. She did her ice-skating motion and gained speed, easily passing the cursing Yzabet, then summoned her spren as an axe, throwing it behind her without looking. She heard a shriek of pain and re-summoned her spren into her hand as a staff the length of the sled track, re-frictioning her feet and angling the staff so that it was throat-level with the incoming sledders. They all either crashed into it or each other, so Tena spun back around and ice-skated right over the bright red finish line, but kept going to the green one because that was obviously a Mace-esque trap; setting a fake finish line. Or maybe two. She kept on skating until she touched the wall with her hand, and then looked back to see what the other racers were doing. "Okay, you finished in first," a bored-looking guy said, handing her a small pouch that Tena didn't open, because putting something in there to knock her out was also a Mace-esque trap.

The Longest Thread (Misadventures)
Sherlock Holmes replied to ElephantEarwax's topic in Forum Games & Random Stuff
Butt soon found out that in actuality, all the puppies own him. He was kept in a nice big cage in a zoo, and the puppies all laughed when he tried to get out of his cage. "Such an adorable animal!" they'd say. Their children fed him little tidbits of pizza that he would have to reach through the bars to get.- 111830 replies

Tena concentrated on the race, but made sure to shoot a coin at Yzabet, who got hit in the face and nearly toppled off her sled. She took a snowball to the back, but remained upright. She saw the snow area coming, and her spren obligingly turned into a big, curved piece of metal that she threw under herself as she hit snow, stopping her lack of friction and maintaining her momentum, gliding forward on her Shardsled. Yzabet was close behind her, along with Mace, but she only knew that because of Yzabet's snide comments and Mace's maniacal seal-laugh.

Tena poked her head into the room after Syen had finished stitching Devaan up. She wasn't all that eager to watch someone get bled out everywhere. Not that Syen would do that, of course, but still.

Tena walked along the roof of the mine, Pushing a coin slightly in front of her in a way that would keep her on the roof of the mine. She crept forward, and heard the sound of maybe three miners. She saw them coming and flattened herself against the roof. A supervisor was with them, and as she passed under Tena, Tena stopped Pushing against the coin and fell behind her, landing on her feet and smacking the femalen over the head with her Shardstaff. The supervisor crumpled to the stone ground without even a sound. The Parshendi children she had been chaperoning spun around, but Tena held up a hand to tell them to be quiet. All three of the children were small, skinny, and very thoroughly miserable-looking. Tena immediately felt like giving them all hugs, but they were clearly wary of her. One burst out into tears, and Tena hugged that one, the little girl not pushing her away as the other two children looked like they would've. "Okay now," Tena said gently to all three, the little femalen she'd been hugging backing away, "I'm here to get you all out of here, safely. Do you know where the other children are?" All three nodded, their silent, sad faces making Tena sad. She gestured her comrades out of their hiding place.
