What happened to B)?

A spenreed started flashing in Soul’s pocket. Grumpily he pulled it out along with some paper and indicated that he was listening. Hurriedly it scrawled out a message. Soul smiled and stopped tapping Identity. Returning to his normal albeit slightly drunk self he stood up. “Goodbye fellows. I’ve got a dual to win.” Sucking in some stormlight to burn away the alcohol, Soul walked out of the bar.

Soul watched with interest as green vines grew up Naermen’s arm. He had never seen this type of investure before and was curious on how it would manifest. His question was quickly answered as a ball of vines was launched towards him. Breathing in stormlight he slashed at the vines expecting to slice it neatly in half, but instead they wrapped around his sword and arm. Cursing he dropped the sword and ripped free of the vines.

Soul walked out into the arena and summoned El into a long spear. Thrusting the spear deep into the arena ground and pulling out both aluminum swords, he waited for his opponent to make the first move. “You ready?” El asked telepathically. ”I’m always ready.”

Bad memories surfaced in Soul’s mind. Dulled only slightly by the wine. Memories of death, and of lost friends. These memories were stronger, and more painful when tapping Identity. Soul drew in stormlight at the intoxicant vaporized. Soul scowled more as his enemies left. Storms he wanted a fight. To kill. Maybe that would make him feel better. Logically he knew that it was a product of his furuchemy, but the added caution was worth the bad mood. And killing people usually helped calm him down regardless of tapping Identity. Maybe he should start a fight....

“Soul, more enemies have arrived.” ”I’m aware of that El.” Soul responded to his spren. This was becoming a problem, three rival Ghostbloods in the same place as him, and no allies around to help. The rock would probably be neutral if a fight broke out, but that still left Soul in a dangerous position. Soul tapped identity, and suddenly became less cheerful, and more silent as he reverted to a time during a war. Doing this made him more dangerous, as his mind went into a state of constant alert, but unfortunately made him more gloomy. Frustrated, Soul downed his drink. ”Get me some of that violet wine.” He grunted curtly. Hopefully the bartender would be able to keep things peaceful.

“That’s how it usually works, but I’m unique in that regard. Could you get me another drink my good sir?” Soul said with a smile.

“Most people call me Soul, and that will do just fine.” Soul replied. “As for being an aluminum twinborn, it helps me look at things in a different light if I need a fresh perspective.” Soul smiled as he though of all the information he left out. Such as ability to tap other people’s metalminds, or become immune to outside investure as he was doing now. Soul felt some added pressure on his aluminum burning and flared it slightly. Someone was using investure on him. Glancing around, he looked at who it might be. Rashan was a steel furuchemist, but perhaps he had something else, he couldn’t quite remember. TFA was an awakener, he knew that, but that wouldn’t be the culprit. Perhaps the rock was trying to soulcast him? This was unlikely, so unless some of the NPCs were more powerful then he thought, only the bartender would be doing it. Perhaps he was soothing him to try to stop a fight. Anyhow it wasn’t dangerous yet.

“No I don’t think we have ever met.” Soul replied to the bartender. “But yes, I am an aluminum twinborn. What exactly is your name?”

“Yes, I can compound aluminum. It’s an uncomfortable process that I don’t die that often. Normal tapping is usually all I need.” Soul smiled. “I usually employ my allomantic abilities more, although not many can do what I can do with them.” This man said he knew little on compounding. Good, so if the rumors of his speed storing were true, this meant that he wasn’t double steel. Soul had faced speed compounders and they were notoriously difficult to kill. Soul chose not to alaborate on his allomantic abilities. People usually grew uncomfortable if they knew he could use a metal unlike anyone else.

Soul kept aluminum flared within him. These people were just here for a drink, like himself, but they were dangerous and it wasn’t good to let his guard down.

“Hey now, TFA I know we have a recent disagreement but that is no reason to be threatening.” Soul smiled and a small shard knife appeared in his hands before seeming to melt away. “I’m not looking for a fight at this exact moment. Perhaps later if you feel inclined.”

“That’s a shame Rashan.” Soul replies. Tucking both aluminum swords in his cloak to keep them out of sight he continued. “How about old fashioned brawling? Get into any tavern fights at least?” Turning to the barkeep he slid some coins over. “Some root beer please. I’ll probably stay a while so just keep it coming. Oh and don’t worry, I won’t attack anyone.”

Soul walked in the bar. “Hello fellows.” He called in a slight singsong voice. “Killed anyone lately?”

“Welcome everyone to the dual between Soul and Naermen!” The announcer proclaimed loudly. The sound echoed through the entrance where Soul waited in the dark. As the last word faded away Soul stepped out into the arena. Dual aluminum swords crossed on his back, cloak billowing dramatically, and his spren, El, spiraling around him in a reflective stream of liquid. Soul was slightly nervous, as he had never been in a one on one dual before, although he had been in a few dozen wars. Watching Naermen exit a tunnel on the opposite side of the arena, he started burning aluminum. El formed into a young women and hovered next to Soul. “What’s the plan?” “Hmm, since I’m not sure about her power set, let’s go with Toilet Bowl mixed with Rocking Chair. If that doesn’t work, we’ll come up with something else.”
